I completely agree. I might even split the wheel into challenges. "Archer only" "cavalry only" "magic only" with whatever I think it's possible to do with the faction while keeping things as interesting as possible.

I've seen Warriors of Chaos factions do that with the randomiser mod - I think they need their dark fortresses to let them do their warband recruitment, so when they get put out will-nilly into the world they struggle to raise anything more than a bunch of lords without armies. Kind of like wood elves, having random start locations hits them particularly hard, as they don't do settlements well outside of their pre-scripted economy zones!
11:30 Ah, a Total War AI moment. Theres times where they just do that for some reason, i think its cause they love making large lines when they have a large army.
One of the things that baffles me is when content creators never build up their garrisons. Seriously, your armies can't be everywhere at once, especially when surrounded like this, so having those would stop most of the incursions and reduce them to just raiding, which is stupid of them because it makes them tired and slower. Not to mention you don't lose progress and investment in gold and growth taking those settlements back. Tier 1's, fine, those are cheap, but not building the garrisons at tier two means any opportunist Tom, Dick and Harry can snap it up and cause immense frustration. At the very least, this has got me in the mood for WH3 again.
I definitely agree on swapping the max of 3 units to a max of 5 units... but I'd also suggest putting in a possible "Oh shit I'm losing" option and allow the RoR of the same/similar type. Just to possibly give that extra push in case everything starts to go belly-up.

It was an active nightmare too, since they put Eltharion in the mountains near where Greasus starts and he was doing well the entire game. I hated it. lately i have been doing randomizer starting location runs too, got lucky with volkmar and got the book of nagash with cooldowns right next to me so that was a fun and bloody fight, best part, i started next to reiksland, so now my job is to reclaim it all, even if my neighbors are nice people, and then get books
Malakai Makaison is a geat slayer engineeer who was cast out for thinking out of normal and he killed some dwarfs with some of his desiegns which is why hes a slayer
I have to say, you should keep the Araby mod and do a run as Jafar, he is very fun and the faction feels very fun to play. Edit: I feel you so much on the cavalry. I made the mistake of gong back and playing Medieval 2 and the stark difference in how the cavalry controls makes me hate the modern way. Hell, take me back to Shogun 2, that was good too!
I do like the idea of having 5 units to play with. Gives you something to work with. Still it was inspiring to watch you make this brutal challenge work. Way to go buddy! Can’t wait to see another.
I've been noticing that the gate bug and wall pathfinding have been particularly atrocious lately. I generally enjoy siege battles, but it's really frustrating when half a unit gets stuck on the other side of a gate and the fact that using ladders just ruins pathfinding is really annoying. Battles that should have been an easy W ended up losing me half my army because of bugs.
for the next challenge you should also make the rule that one of the 5 rnd units must be a tier 1 unit, otherwise you might get stuck with your starting units only for like 20+ turns if you roll really badly.and one lost fight might loose you the challenge.
Scenario idea: Start a game where each individual race has a military alliance with itself and at the same time a war with every other race which also have alliances with each other. I recommend it, it's very funny -AI bigger empires are created faster. So it's like Total war from the first turn, but you still have allies.
I swear kislev's auto resolve is so fcking busted. Armored Kossars in particular punch so far above their weight class both in battles and autoresolve. Also I do agree with the AI leadership cheats being the most annoying stat modifier. Like bro why are these marauders fighting to the death while my guys route at 80% hp. PS: Blizzard is so fcking strong and I love it.
Too bad you can’t make recruitments in general completely random. Both a faction specific random recruitment challenge could be fun. Then find a way for complete random recruitment across all factions. Grimgor leadinging Empire knights, Chaos Dwarfs, Norscan Wyverns, and Elves would be hilarious
A faction I’d like to see you do is the nagash mod would be a nice break for your sanity after this chaos unless you feel like making it impossible as well but yeah

Definitely! With a few buffs, they can beat most tier 3 infantry in the game, even if they don't get the chance to shoot them first.
