Not because they're strong, but because they're more disgusting than all of the worst of Nurgle combined with the lack of self control and propensity to sexually assault everything that moves like Slaanesh.
I love the Skin Wolves because their lore is genuinely metal af (which, considering that this is WHF Chaos, is not surprising): Many are the foul Chaos Cults and many are the dark horrors of twisted flesh and nightmares made real that the Ruinous Powers have visited upon the mortal world. Few, though, are as strange as the Skin Wolves of legend. In the far north, among those who dwell in the shadow of Chaos, be they Norscan, Kurgan or Hung, as well as the shunned corners of the world where degenerates root and fester such as the Bone Hills of Estalia or the dire fens south of the Badlands, myths and bloody tales speak of the Skin Wolves. Witch-cursed or Chaos-tainted, these men and women, half feral and subject to savage appetites, carry within them a taint in the blood, a mutation that shows not readily as stigmata on their flesh, but slumbers within, a beast waiting to be unleashed by blood and unspeakable ritual. When this horror is released, no mere transformation of man into beast is effected. *Instead the humanoid wolf-thing, lean and half-insane with insatiable hunger, rips its way fully-formed from the body of the man, which is left little more than shredded flaps of skin and chunks of bloody gristle by the freeing monster. It is the clinging shrouds of skin that give the beasts their common name.* Only once battle is spent and a Skin Wolf has glutted itself on the raw and dripping gore of its enemies will the terrible transformation be reversed and the bubbling and overworked flesh of the Skin Wolf collapse, *then like a newborn the Human within must tear its way out of the monster it once was.* All Skin Wolves have the ability to regenerate their horrid forms and they may carry the favour of one of the Chaos Gods. "I may have underestimated Malus Darkblade." Is the single most lore accurate statement ive ever heard after reading his books. It just keeps happening.
The AI overvalues settlement trades to the point that you can easily vassalize order factions, which ultimately makes no sense. In my current Norsca campaign, I've vassalized the rank 1 dwarfs alongside the rank 2 Slaanesh faction who control all of Ulthuan.
I believe that if you go for the nurgle raze reward you can get a lord that increases the wolves (well, all units) HP by a significant amount. Unless they have nerfed that
How I wish the Empire would have access to white wolves (filling the role of hunting hounds) of Middenheim and Children of Ulric (pretty much similar to Skin Wolves).

norsca used to have no walls like at all now they at least have unwalled settlement maps also before norsca used to only be able to occupy settlements with ports (except for norsca the region on the map - there they could have everything) that was also changed in transition to warhammer 3 unfortunately they did also lose the fun factionwide bonuses you used to get from their economy buildings because apparently that is "too op" yet now their ports make over 1k gold per turn which is not "too op" (it really isnt tho, without those ports norsca would be like literally unplayable) oh yes and the ports used to make way less money so overall they got a lot less painful when going from warhammer 2 to 3
