I always wondered why Toon World wasn't treated like DNA Surgery back then. I get that Toon World was released much earlier, to make all the Toon cards, and power crept, but it would've made the whole archetype simpler and easier

1:34 I think this would be a fun card for tournaments, where the tournament organizers can have a suite of prizes, and the winner of the whole thing can cash in the blank card for any single one of them. Going one step further, ALL duelists that reach the Semi-Finals of a tournament would receive one of these, and the loser has to hand theirs over to the winner, so that the winner of the tournament can choose up to 4 prizes of their choice (or simply choose to keep any of the cards for future tournaments, on the condition that they have to hand theirs over to whomever beats them there).

Slight correction on the Toon World bit... while Pegasus did threaten to complete the DCJ/DP combo to throw another Blue-eyes toon at Kaiba, the one he did play was pilfered through different means, namely by using Prophecy to take it out of Kaiba's hand.

One thing about Koumori Dragon that I found weird is that the anime would get the difference in life points wrong whenever Yugi played it. Because even though the Koumori Dragon has 1500 attack points, the anime treated it like it had 1700 attack points instead--making Yugi take less damage than he should have whenever it got destroyed.

Yeah I get that 4Kids had to censor the anime so that the duels didn’t result in death but the shadow realm is infinitely worse. I don’t know why 4Kids didn’t just make it so that those who lost a shadow game died but could end up coming back to life after the ultimate evil, villain, etc was defeated.

I'm probably the only person who used Koumori dragon competitively. It filled a super niche 3 requirement needed for my Chaos Hieratic shell. It was normal, so you can send it +1 with dragon shrine Dragon, see above shrine And Dark, so you could use it for Darkflare/Light pulsar dragon. Dragon shrine to dump Koumori & Eclipse wyvern. Now you have the GY set up for chaos summons, or if you tribute a hieratic you can cheat it in to enable rank 4 xyz.

I'm hoping Illusion Gate (which requires you to offer your soul to the Sacred Beasts and forfeit said soul to the Sacred Beasts) gets printed in the real-world card game, minus the "offering soul to the Sacred Beasts" part obviously. This is its effect from the Tag Force games: Destroy all monsters on your opponent's side of the field. After, select 1 monster in your opponent's Graveyard and Special Summon it to your side of the field, ignoring the Summoning conditions. At the end of this turn, your Life Points are reduced by 90 percent. I wonder if its Tag Force gameswould be still strong in the current metagame (2024 and onwards), and if it is too strong/broken, how would it be changed to fit in the real-world card game.
The Endless Torment is worse, in my opinion. People like(d?) to joke about how the Shadow Realm was just clumsy censorship, but to me personally, being eternally trapped in a magical version of Hell to be mind-raped sounds infinitely scarier than just being dead. Not to mention, it also had the side-effect of making Marik's Threats against the Pharaoh much more logical on a conceptual level. Just as a reminder, he's a Spirit possessing Yugi's Body, so tf is killing his Host supposed to accomplish? Atleast with the Shadow Realm it makes sense how Marik's attacks pose a threat to him.

I like how according to one of the YCS Scripted Duels, the anime version of Toon World is so powerful that it can even turn the God Cards into Toon Gods under Pegasus' control, as seen when he transforms The Winged Dragon of Ra into Toon Ra.

I always remember that Kaiba is an ass bastard in duelist kingdom. He literally lose the game (in a custom game he made himself), threatening to krill himself, win because Yugi is too kind, and even have the audacity to tell Yugi is a weak-ass.
I'm reminded of that Simpsons episode where Bart sells his soul to Millhouse and the ambiguity as to whether souls were a thing. It'd be funny and Eff'd up if you could invoke that same kind of drama by making OCG/TCG legal YGO cards where players could "ante their soul".

Then at the end of the Duel, Pegasus planned to take control of BE with the Dragon Piper, but Kaiba destroyed with this Swordstalker… just to destroy Kaiba’s deck with the Virus card
Big or Small would be broken in real game. Almost all Main Deck monsters and absolutely all handtraps have less than 2000 ATK. You can go +2 and deplete opponent's resources very easily.

Something about a card with the power of the Reaper, and the card would give you great power in exchange for your soul in the end... the guy wanted to pull of a cool combo that would let him do an instant kill with a samurai sword card tied to the Iai Strike technique.
Me and the boys took our Gee-Duels (that’s what we called them, Gee-Duels) pretty seriously. If someone lost a Shadow Duel we would make them go out into the woods until next day because “they were in the shadow realm”. malefic stardust dragon would go so hard in my springans deck level 8 for the rank 8s but also dragon to pitch for albaz stuff and it puts stardust dragon in the extra deck as a synchro option for ecclesia.

Wasn't there a card in the GX tournament arc that had the power to take souls? Something about a card with the power of the Reaper, and the card would give you great power in exchange for your soul in the end... the guy wanted to pull of a cool combo that would let him do an instant kill with a samurai sword card tied to the Iai Strike technique.

Me and the boys took our Gee-Duels (that’s what we called them, Gee-Duels) pretty seriously. If someone lost a Shadow Duel we would make them go out into the woods until next day because “they were in the shadow realm”. We stopped after one of us didn’t come back last night haha I guess he just moved away cuz dey couldn’t handle the heat 😜

I would add mystic mine as I'm pretty sure many players felt their soul drain away when that card hit the field.
