- The blueprints for this house are for sale here: www.kordare.co.... In this video I show you exactly what went into building my 50x70 pole barn house with 2400 sqft garage. This was over the course of a couple years, from purchasing the land to having the house complete. It is definitely still a work in progress but I'm happy with how far it has come. I work on building a lot of custom homes... I did one where the guy literally had a huge bar for a man cave... and a 10 x 30 foot glass wall to his show cars.

@@JuryRigGarage location will play a huge part in cost. Also I used pole barn construction which cut costs for such a large footprint.

@@Four_Eyes Building cost for something like this is around 140-170k. I did all the interior finishing myself to save some money (building the kitchen, painting, staining, floors, etc).

These are turning into the new thing and I love it. Own my own lawn n landscaping comp and I've been thinking about something like this for years. The fact that people are starting to do it is amazing to me. Now it's time to get some ideas and do for myself. Thanks for the video and great job

I'm currently designing a 50x75 ICF house. 12' sidewalls for tall garage doors. Slab on grade infloor heat and in attic trusses for extra room. This video helped to visualize

There is still plenty of room for family growth!
I don't even use my entire house, and my upstairs is all storage, I once had half a car stored upstairs! Check out the tiny house community, tons of family's in those.
This guy has accomplished more for himself in his Twenties, than many people dream of doing in a lifetime. I hope he realizes that. he should be very proud of himself. I wonder what state hes in, and what hes been doing professionally that allowed him to do all this. Unfortunately i grew up on the east coast, so here i sit in NJ, in small house that cost me over $300,000, pay over $7,000/yr in property taxes - and dont even have a garage OR the space in my tiny plot of land to even think about one.. that said - everything i could want/need for daily life is within 2 miles, major airports are less than an hour away, every borough of NYC is 20 - 90 minutes away, and i dont need to be air lifted to a hospital lol.. So everything is relative.. Still - I’d still love to have something similar to what hes created for himself. Awesome job man.
I just wonder what the winters are like where ever he is, and how cold that concrete floor gets. Also - are the posts for home really just stuck in the ground with nothing around it? Does anything keep them from rotting eventually? And what kinda taxes are being paid for that building?
Hey I appreciate the kind words! I am in south central Pennsylvania so not too far from you. The floors aren't bad at all in the living space with the wood stove. They definitely get cold in the garage without any heat. And the posts sit on poured concrete footers in the ground. Rot could be an eventual problem but they are all pressure treated. My uncle did something very similar to this! Only his living quarters was actually a split entry with a big basement downstairs under the living quarters. I always thought it was the coolest thing. He's a big Harley Collector, and he's telling me he's running out of space lol.

I live a similar place. This is becoming popular. Have a friend lives similar also. Friend is married, kids grown. Him and wife travel lots, spend months on their boat. Gives lot of freedom when up keep is very simple. Love to get in touch with you and chust chat/kick around ideas about this. Saw a few things in vid make me curious if we don’t live too far apart.

Make sure your fire alarms both in the garage and the living spaces are working, a sprinkler system would be a good idea and I hope the wall and doors between the spaces are fire rated,
Yup my fire alarms are also carbon monoxide alarms, and the wall and door between the two is fire rated all the way to the roofline.
My garage house, I want all steel pole barn, drywalled house, and steel garage interior except for the drywall firewall between the two.
That was my first thought on the wood framed garage
I considered steel, it was just cost prohibitive for this size...

My partner built her own "shedio" (shed/studio). I picked up a light industrial Suzuki sewing machine from a receivership auction (business liquidation) for it. Amazing how having space can change your approach. She now wants a muuuuch larger space as it's filled up with materials and furniture projects! Go for it. Make it happen indeed.

I'm going to do something similar, using as much free or barter materials as possible, and using storage containers. Shop on slab with living areas upstairs, you can buy surplus store front glass for cheap to do big glass walls, its shatter proof. Make house shtf proof and off grid. Perhaps partially burry house into hillside for geothermal insulation.
