    I wonder how many viewers went out to check their grab handles after watching this video - I know I did.
    Does your VIN come within the range of that TSB, I'd have thought yours would be a Sxxxxx and already had the dielectric grease applied.
    If it recurrs see if there's a build up of film inside the lenses, cleaning inside with a rag wrapped around a pencil or screwdriver worked for me. No more problems 3 years later.
    Do you have any advice for autolights that seem to stay on sometimes even in bright sunshine ? I've tried a new rain sensor, new light sensor in the dash grille, no difference. I'm thinking the wiper position when parked might be a problem.

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  4 года назад

      Mine didn't fall within their range but that was issued around that time. I think it's an affliction that affects just about every X250 by now.

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  4 года назад

      Oh dear. I know Jaguar put extra staples in the front to keep the dash from bubbling but it's a dash out repair. I recall there is a video showing how to remove it on RUclips from a few years back. If you can get a good one from a salvage yard you could swap it out yourself with a buddy helping you. Just label all the wires and plugs so you know where to plug them in again and take your time. It's about a 4-6 hour job so weekend would probably be a good time to tackle it.

    • @pauljohnston712

      When I heard about this problem I immediately sourced a sunshade which I now use religiously. I've had the issue on top of the door cards which I managed to glue back down. If it's not too big a patch you could try injecting some glue using a syringe.

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  4 года назад

      @@pauljohnston712 Yeah, I agree. I first try and get a syringe with a needle and squirt the glue in under the lifted area and then smooth it down with credit card. But use a good trimmer's glue that won't dry out any time soon and will keep the bond for a long time. Trimmers use a special glue which is heated slightly to ensure it's nice and liquid, but when it dries it turns to a think bond between the two surfaces.

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  3 года назад

      Hey Simar. It's the thermostat that's faulty. When the engine is cold, the thermostat should be closed to let it warm up quicker. This gets the oil to operating viscosity. @@simar98 Hey Simar. There shouldn't be a need to reset anything once you replace it. If the new thermostat is operating properly, the engine will warm up quicker and the sensors will pick it up and you should have no lights. It's a good idea to replace the temp sensor as well. The coolant reservoir also has a level sensor and this can also cause the code. However, if the coolant tank is between the full and low marks then there should be no issue there. I found this site this morning - you might want to take a look at it www.engine-codes.com/p0128_jaguar.html

      Hi Jose'. I don't personally have a manual for an XE since I've never owned one. But you can try this website to download one cardiagn.com/2016-2018-jaguar-xe-x760-offline-workshop-manual-wiring-diagrams/

    what do you recommend to clean the car, the rims and the leather interior?

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  4 года назад +2

      I use a car shampoo by shield but really, any car shampoo with a built-in wax is good enough. For the wheels, I use a mag wheel spray that you spray on and it removes all the dust particles from the calipers and wheels and then just spray them down. I rarely clean wheels as that method does the trick. As for the interior, never use harsh chemicals on the leather, it makes the paint crusty and then the leather starts to crack. Use a water damp cloth to clean it and then use a leather feed - something similar to what they use on horse saddles ;)

    Does anyone know if dielectric grease will work instead of copper grease?

    • @carfanfan
      @carfanfan  Год назад

      Copper grease is what's recommended by Jaguar. Just use what they recommend. It works.

      @@carfanfan It was a trick question. dielectric grease is nonconductive. I used lithium grease and the problem was resolved. Your video was well done. Great job
