Good dogfights are the only reason I still play this game.
Genuine skill is needed. Absolutely terrible planes can destroy the best ones with a good pilot, but when two good pilots go into a duel it becomes pure enjoyment for the entire time.

Most of those seem to be one circle stall fights in which German planes excel. I wonder what happens when an opponent tries to force a two circle fight, or just keeps his energy

3:24 and 4:33 ..... BRUHHHH the amount of skill involved is incalculable. How you make the 162 work is a real miracle though, I just get slaughtered in it.
I am by no means a good pilot, but the speed of the He162 is key. It is also not that bad in a turn fight and has a low stall speed for the size. I always wonder how this thing stays in the air with less than 200 kph. But that is the wonders of having way less drag than props
2:23, I have the biggest feeling the he162's 20mm spark more than the other german 20mms... and seeing it happen to you makes me think 3x more this might be the case

Duels ARE extremely fun and tense when your planes are more or less evenly matched, it's just too bad they feel pretty rare outside of GRB...
Also using your guns to slow yourself down a little bit more at 4:40 was SICK.

Whenever I try to duel in grb I usually over or underestimate my energy by 200% and then turn right into their guns

I have 3 ruels - no dive - no chasing - and always turn to the other plane
I mean, in a Ki-43-III, it's an achievement to lose a dogfight XD

The 109 is legit goated in low speed super eficient flaps plus high t/w ratio means that you are always at a sufient high speed to get your optimal turn radios and win the 1v1

it's pretty mid lol. Most german planes can dive away quicker and win a vertical dogfight

Which 109G is that? it has a K style nose and also the bulges in the wings for the bigger landing gear but it doesn't have a retractable tail wheel.

@@smigoltime the control you have in these fights is nuts, I don't understand how the instructor is flopping your rudder all over the place while you keep the aiming circle thing over the enemy plane. Do you have a video going over this stuff already? I had a look with the search on your channel, but couldn't find anything. I appreciate that you probably get asked a lot about his so thank you for replying
@@jacobscott2473 I don't. I use WSAD for elevator and ailerons, QE for rudder and obv mouse for aiming and looking around. All the rudder movements there are my inputs, it's not the instructor.
@@smigoltime so you aren't using the mouse aim control scheme? And you say you use the mouse for aiming, is that for gunners on aircraft that have them, or do you mean letting the plane's nose be brought to the cursor by changing control schemes or something? I'm just trying to wrap my head around how much skill is on display at this point
@@jacobscott2473 when I aim my guns I use the mouse to steer the plane, so its smoother and more accurate, when I dogfight someone I use WSADQE to steer because it overwrites mouse inputs allowing me to look around without holding C. It also makes the plane pull the maximum input value unlike with instructor disrupted mouse
