My thought off your guitar after just one look is that it might be a MIJ body with a US neck! if so that might be why you have such a great tone! MIJ is the best !
That is a highway one pre 2006, I have the 2006 model with the exact same body but with the 70's head stock. Mine has upgraded pots for a better taper to control the volume, a callaham trem block (hard tailed) and a 59 pickup in the neck. I get questions about it's tone continuously since I upgraded it. The nitro is wearing thin nicely too now.
Very late but I like how chris has taken the common SRV and Hendrix influences but hasn't become a copycat. He added his own flavour and made it his own thing. I find some people like Matt schofield and Philip Sayce are too close and don't offer much that speaks to their own artistry.
Chris Buck is such a nice bloke. I've been following Buck & Evans for quite a while now and his playing is so inspiring, check out there tunes you won't be disappointed if you are into a bit of rock blues/blues. I was very pleased to see this episode, keep up the good work Lee 😏
Chris Buck, absolute legend seen him a few times now and brilliant every time. Truly one of the best guitarists this country (Wales that is!!) has ever produced and a genuinely nice guy. Met him through Steelhouse. Gonna be a huge!!!
There's a busker from Wales on the RUclips channel "Artfob". The guy's name is Mark Allen and he's really good. Not in Chris Buck's league (not many are) but he's still a fantastic player.
gotta love this guy man¡¡¡ not only his playing, which is magnificent, best vibrato and amazing bending, but the guy himself, he seems cool and very modest.....greetings from Spain Chris¡¡¡¡¡¡
I had the pleasure of watching Chris play with Buck and Evans last Sunday...all I can say is WOW absolutely phenomenal! If you can catch them live, do it. Also an album is due out at the end of the year, it'll be one to look out for.
I could watch Chris all day. He seems like such a warm, friendly, dare I say it typically Welsh guy and comes across like your best mate. Plus his guitar work is just beautiful.
Definitely Captain's improvement is notorious in this video. Security, feeling, tone, great playing! It's very good to watch you getting better! God bless
I just discovered this from a long link of stuff that lead me back to an old Anderton's video. This guy is now my favorite guitarist. Everything that comes out of his amp sounds as sweet as saltwater taffy.
Thank you guys for bringing this guy in, I wish he got some more attention! I love his playing and would love to see him get bigger. Also I started playing at 19, and am now 24, I laughed when you said we have to look backward in time to find some quality music. I couldn't agree more!
Never heard of Chris Buck before but seems like a good guy and is a decent player. The quality of these interviews just keeps getting better. Keep up the good work Captain.
Decent lol literally top 3 blues player on yourube got so much soul go check his videos out he is amazing his style is so good and original just has so much feel some of the most i ve ever heard or felt you can feel it when he plays its hard to feel someone as much as you do him when he plays
Man, guys.... Thanks so much again for another awesome 1st for me. Never heard of Chris or Buck & Evans. Truly enjoyable. Also may I say, Mr. Lee, your playing is so great. Just love your channel.
Great vid!! Gotta admit that I kept thinking how cool it would have been to have Danish Pete and Chris jam, even though the capt did a great job as always.
WoW, Talking of a video coming from the left, not from the uk. So this tok me by suprise. But i loved it. Great video and i will be checking them out more.
Great stuff as usual Cap - I love being introduced to "new" players. Hoping Chris and company blow up large. Most potentially EPIC Cap'n Meets episode would be: BUCKETHEAD Am being a bit facetious, but you gotta admit - that would be an amazing, possibly fun-awkward 30 minutes of interviewing... ;) :D
Nobody from Steel Panther was here yet. I would like Lexxi and Satchel to come for a visit that would be totally bitchin´ as Satchel would probably say :-).
the thumb over technique came pretty naturally to me, even though for a majority of my playing i was strictly a metal and punk guy but within the last couple of years, i got really into SRV and texas blues and saw that stevie did it a lot, so i did it
I was with Lee on the raised eyebrow during the discussion about the Highway 1. It’s possible Chris bought a very nice partscaster which may have a Highway 1 body.
I wouldn't be surprised if there was a giant sized cut-out of the Continuum album cover behind the camera that these guys were staring at the whole time
Been following Buck and Evans for some time now. What touch, what tone. Gotta say Lee is on fire!! And no sign of Roger Whittaker behaving like an idiot and showing us all how not to be funny.
Thank you so much for having me Lee; a total honour. Also, a huge +1 to all those suggesting 'Captain Meets Danish Pete'...😉
Buck and Evans PLEASE!!!
My thought off your guitar after just one look is that it might be a MIJ body with a US neck! if so that might be why you have such a great tone! MIJ is the best !
sweet playing mate.........
"You only find your voice though being a poor imitation of your heroes " Amen brother!

Favourite one yet. Chris is a ridiculously good player and a top bloke. Check Buck and Evans out live.

Cracking interview as always. If the next generation of british guitarists are anything like chris then we are in safe hands
I know this is late, but I keep watching it. Mr. buck on that Rev at the end is just... Everything I've wanted out of 20 years of playing...
Chris Buck is such a nice bloke. I've been following Buck & Evans for quite a while now and his playing is so inspiring, check out there tunes you won't be disappointed if you are into a bit of rock blues/blues. I was very pleased to see this episode, keep up the good work Lee 😏
I've watched this multiple times already, and keep coming back to it. Excellent player!
Chris Buck, absolute legend seen him a few times now and brilliant every time. Truly one of the best guitarists this country (Wales that is!!) has ever produced and a genuinely nice guy. Met him through Steelhouse. Gonna be a huge!!!

Lee your playing was inspired. It has been fun to watch your guitar journey. And Chris Buck...need I say anything else?
Chris is bloody brilliant. The tone, phrasing and touch are just worldies!
Would love a captain meets Philip Sayce
Pleaase!!! That would be amazing!
Yes!!
+Simon Drury we'd all love that big time!!
think it will happen eventually.....
@@andertons why hasn't this happened yet!!!
jesus she can sing....never heard Buck and Evans, and i am amazed by that powerful voice
I had the pleasure of watching Chris play with Buck and Evans last Sunday...all I can say is WOW absolutely phenomenal! If you can catch them live, do it. Also an album is due out at the end of the year, it'll be one to look out for.

Anyone who likes Chris' playing has to go to his Facebook page and watch his promo for his sig pickups. Truly amazing!
Definitely Captain's improvement is notorious in this video. Security, feeling, tone, great playing! It's very good to watch you getting better! God bless
I love the fact he plays fender squires as well, Awesome guy to boot!!!
I just discovered this from a long link of stuff that lead me back to an old Anderton's video. This guy is now my favorite guitarist. Everything that comes out of his amp sounds as sweet as saltwater taffy.
Chris buck is an absolute beast
I absolutely adore this series of videos from Anderton’s. Especially the ones featuring artists I’ve not heard of. Brilliant job😀
Crackin jams brilliant gear chat and an excellent name dropping exposé of a tasty musician I need to listen to some more. Thanks Captain. 👍
Great jam....cheers from Ottawa Canada. Chris Buck rules!
Beautiful playing Chris.
Thank you for bringing Chris in...this kid's a truly gifted guitar player with some bright future. Kudos !
Chris is a great player I discovered him one year ago! Great to see him being interviewed by Lee :)
Thank you guys for bringing this guy in, I wish he got some more attention! I love his playing and would love to see him get bigger. Also I started playing at 19, and am now 24, I laughed when you said we have to look backward in time to find some quality music. I couldn't agree more!
Hot damn the Captains been practicing!!! Soundin inspiring!
Always love finding a new great artist killer interview thanks guys!
"You only find your voice though being a poor imitation of your heroes " - so true...
Never heard of Chris Buck before but seems like a good guy and is a decent player. The quality of these interviews just keeps getting better. Keep up the good work Captain.
Funky Monkey1886 He's more than decent though don't you think :-)?

What a nice and talented guy
Great playing Lee 😎
Such good content coming from this channel lately! Keep it up guys
damn Lee sounded really good today in the beginning jam. real delightful.
What a nice guy Chris is. Little bit of Jeff beck keeping in on that last jam!
Captain meet Satchel :D
That would be awesome but I don´t think the Captain would be able to handle Satchel´s jokes though :D.
Kraeftisch I feel like he's been on the channel. Have they done one already?
Nobody from Steel Panther was here yet. I would like Lexxi and Satchel to come for a visit that would be totally bitchin´ as Satchel would probably say :-).
Satchel would be a GREAT Captain meets 👍👍👍👍
A shout out to my namesake & fellow Welshman ... nice playing man
My favourite guitarist to listen to.
This guy and Danish Pete would make great music together.
Here Here ! Pete Honoré I don't really know much about him except besides Mick Taylor one of the best all around players on RUclips.
Damn the Captain really sounded good in the opening jam solos! 👏👏👏
Captain meets Steven Wilson pleaseeeeeee
I can hear John Mayer in the guys playing. Really sweet and vocal 👍 love it.
That intro jam was amazing

Yeah he’s alright
The Captain and Chris are a perfect combo
Chris is an absolute beast.
Great opening jam. When the Captain opened up that Strat Wow! What a tone! Was that the Blackstar in the background?
One of the best guitar players I've seen lately, such a huge talent.
Rafael Castro Yep the Captain's pretty good hey!!
that young man has chops
the thumb over technique came pretty naturally to me, even though for a majority of my playing i was strictly a metal and punk guy but within the last couple of years, i got really into SRV and texas blues and saw that stevie did it a lot, so i did it
I've seen Chris Buck's Pedal Board on another Vid , does he use that all the time just for blues , fantastic player but wow that Pedal Board is huge.
The Captain is playing great!!!!!!!
The captain is getting better
The captain is making up for lost time on guitar,,i think his playing is becoming so tasty !!

The Captain meets: Alex Lifeson...oooh...ya!
I was with Lee on the raised eyebrow during the discussion about the Highway 1. It’s possible Chris bought a very nice partscaster which may have a Highway 1 body.
is this the cooking channel? am I in the right place?
+Petre Rodan yes - we make a nice omelet about 10 minutes in.
Still hoping desperately for Captain Meets Martin Simpson (and a clinic from him too!)...
The captain meets K.K. Downing!!!
First I said "who?"
Then I said "damn, he's doing that guitar soft and dirty"
Captain meets Mark Knopfler...??

17:50 ish ooohhh that sounds so fucking sweet dude
The Captain meets Doyle Bramhall II!
That would be amazing...
