Thanks so much, i have long wondered about investing in a wool mat. I have a tendency to iron rather than press so having the grip feature would help to not stretch my blocks. Plus I would like to block my doilies, but didnt have the ability.
I like the idea of using a plastic flannel backed table cloth. Question: do you place it flannel or plastic side up? My table is a hollow wooden d door with an oilcloth cover

I would put it flannel side up. It can then absorb anything, and the plastic side won't let it through.
