Ya know, I’ve noticed that. Not a whole lot of Monchhichi videos out there. Maybe we should change that? 🥰 thanks for enjoying the content!
Adorable. I live in Japan and have been customizing Monchicchi recently. You’re very right about the body changing slightly. The original ones had a slightly different pattern for the body so it had a butt for easier sitting and were filled more with those bean-bag pellets for sitting. Later ones have more of a simple body (like a standing teddy bear) without a butt and more fluffy stuffing.

Love your video and your collection! ❤️ Here in Brazil they also used to be made by a Brazilian company. My collection consists of 5 S monchhichi I was super lucky to find used for a good price in my country. I have one vintage “classic girl”, and the other 4 are all modern and I got them together. One “classic boy”, two pink boys (one is pastel pink and the other a very bright pink) and one is a “blonde” girl wearing pigtails and pink hearts on her head 😍
Oh I forgot to mention that here they were made by the toy company Estrela and the boy was called Tiko and the girl Tika
I adore Monchhichi so much, I have 2, a vintage girl, and a modern girl wearing a lovely German style dress. I'd love to have more some day because they're so precious. This was super fun, I didn't know they went that big and now I want a 2L because I'm a sucker for big plush. I watched the show from 1983 a couple years ago and it was one of the cutest things I've ever watched and it wasn't too long either. Also gotta say I always love checking out your nails in your videos, they're super pretty!

Me and my sister as well. We grew up with them and we still sing the song to my cat and call him monchichi.

when I was a kid I had one back in the 80s my mom tossed it out it was my favorite toy. Today I was at a mall in Jersey and they were selling them.. legit spent $40 to replace the one I had as a kid.. it feels different though I remember the originals being heavier and seemed bigger.. love your collection I think I"m going to start collecting them myself.
You might have had a medium sized Chhi, that being said I do feel like the vintage dolls are a bit chunkier. Getting into Monchhichi collecting is allot of fun too! Like don’t even get me started on the the special editions 🤩❤️

I just had two affordable unlicensed Monchhichi soft plushies and really loved them a lot. I'm literally hugging him while watching your vid. I always saw Monchhichi dolls on live selling videos here on our country and didn't took too long for me to fall in love with their cuteness. So happy you got yourself a Chi 🥰 they are quite cute. The larger dolls can be found on Mimiwoo, they sell out quickly. If that’s the case give the term “Monchhichi 2XL” a google search 😇
Do you happen to know what other dolls can share clothing with these guys? (The 8 inch size) I want to sew some clothing for mine but don’t know what patterns to look for.
This is a fantastic question! I’d say Perhaps Mattel’s “Ken” fashions would fit but the arms of shirts and pants would be too long, as well as the circumstances of the fashions being off a bit. I must say I haven’t put a whole lot of research into clothing for the “S” size as I’ve opted for the licensed pieces or made my own. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful. It’s a bit easier dressing the “L” sizes I think.

My sister used to make clothes for them but she did it free handed going by their body measurements and tracing their body on a tracing paper, if that helps.

That’s a wonderful question. Best places to buy vintage Monchhichi would be second hand. I like eBay, just be aware of the lil tricks I mentioned to spot an authentic doll. 😇

Hello there, I’d say yes and no. There are some pieces that fit while others don’t. So perhaps it’s down to the cut of a garment. However I know for a fact “ Build A Bear” clothing fits.
