Just me who shuddered when I saw the combi boiler above the comms rack?
Smart lighting my ass. I know which system I'd prefer in a power cut / wifi down scenario:
Conventional: wait for power to resume - lights come back on.
Lutron: You may experience a temporary power or internet outage. On occasion, this may cause the Lutron Smart Bridge / Repeater to lose connection to the cloud server via the internet. Here are the steps to take in order to restore the connection:
Verify that the ethernet cable is still properly connected from the bridge directly to a LAN port on your router
Re-set your router by cycling power off for 10 seconds and then turn it back on. Wait until the router completes the re-start process (up to 5 min depending on your router)
Re-set your Smart Bridge by cycling power off for 10 seconds and then turn it back on. This will re-start the smart bridge. The light ring will illuminate once power is applied and you will see some flashing for approximately 1 min. Once this is complete, the light ring should remain on solid. If the light remains on solid, proceed to Step 4
Flashing Light (Every 3-5 seconds): This indicates that the bridge is not communicating on the network.
Check your wired ethernet connection between your bridge and router. The ethernet cable must be installed to the LAN port of your router or switch
Try changing the LAN port that your bridge is connected to
If you have a spare ethernet cable, try replacing the cable
If the light does not go to solid proceed back to Step 1
If it still does not connect, try a different Ethernet cable.
You should now be able to re-connect via the Lutron App to your system. Press the Retry button to restore connection. Your app should now look something like this once the connection is restored.....

Lutron are just introducing RA3, same Pico remotes, dimmers and switches but the hub and bridge is combined, it’s PoE and by design is expected to be installed say outside of a data cabinet or close to the clients router.
Not so sure Crestron, Elan, RTI to name a few would agree with what you said regarding Control4. Would be like saying when someone wants sockets and switches they choose MK.

Nice video guys as usual. I Hope you have the opportunity to film a video on a wired KNX installation sometime. KNX has BUS controlled DIN rail mounted actuators. If I can avoid wireless at all I do, just for reliability.
I can’t be the only one who believes the Pico switches are a little ugly they seem very cluttered personally but it seems a lot of people are fine with it.
I thought the same to a point and we have done a few designs on systems based on KNX. Amazing choice of wall controllers on an open standard but when you present a choice of 100+ manufacturers each with 100 different choices the client can take ages to make a decision. Lighting designers and interior designers love the choices but from an installing point of view you can see your margin draining away as you wait on decisions and then delivery on kit ( component shortages are a real problem )
That said Lutron have serious issues themselves. Some bits are ex-stock and others have lead times of months with no guaranteed delivery date. All you are told is to order early.
just enquiring if you changed to the new cutters instead of side cutters because of South Africa?, electricians in South Africa have been using those stripper/cutters for last 30 to 40 years .

i have philips hue light there are great but if get a power cut when the power comes back on all the light come on , so we go round to turn them all off , is this the same with lutron smart lights system ?
you can configure the default on behaviour for Philips Hue bulbs to stop that happening: Go into the light in the Hue app and look for the 'Light Behaviour at Power on' setting.
No, they tend to remember the last state, so if on they come back on, and obliviously the reverse if off. Similar with dimming levels.
