Pro tip: *this* is how you learn to program. Forget expensive boot camps and dry textbooks-if you want to learn to code, start with an _idea,_ break it down into components, and then learn the techniques you need for each component as you go. Pearl is definitely a redstone prodigy, and when you watch her streams you see that this is *exactly* how she approaches learning.
I love Pearl got into redstone and now every redstoner on the server is doing it with her, like a grandpa excited their grandchild is getting into woodworking and is now sharing tips of the trade
The moment X suggested ender pearls was so great. Pearl was embarrassed about falling into her redstone, but X chucking her an ender pearl was such a lovely way of letting her know she's in the club: yes, EVERY redstoner falls into their redstone, and here's how we deal with it, you are one of us 😊
He also posted on twitter that he had things happening with family and people were staying over so it wasn't ideal for making videos, he's been back working on the froglight shop for a week I think now
That and he's been on mcci a lot the past month and according to a post on his subreddit from someone who's played with him multiple times, etho has improved A LOT
Absolutely adore how supportive you are of Pearl and her redstone. Watching a pro appreciate a very impressive ‘newbie’ is very very fun and comforting!
pearl learning redstone is my favorite thing about the season so far cus all the veteran redstoners of the serv are tripping over each other to geek about it or help its so cute fhgjhkil;oiuiytr
The fact that Pearl has learned redstone and made such an amazing game in such a short amount of time is amazing. I hope She has inspired others who see themselves as builders in the MC community to try and learn redstone, its such a cool mechanic that most people never use beyond following a tutorial to build a farm or storage system.
@@NeonColoredI fear the day when Pearl learns to use flying machines. She's already the best terraformer on the server-now imagine her force multiplying her prowess with carpet bombers. 😂
I’ve never thought about the feature that comparator ignores the signal on the block between the container! Indeed is much more convenient this way and very nice feature!
Word. Always thought it would take whichever signal is greater in strength and never tried it out because of that. Wiki says the comparator will take the signal from a block instead of container, but only when the signal strength is 15.
When I see people struggling with Quasi-Connectivity it really makes me wonder if it's worth keeping the buggy behavior. I know some things rely on QC to work, but it's so frustrating to work around, especially for new people learning redstone. "My design that makes complete logical sense doesn't work because of a bug that some people decided should be a feature". It's just so unintuitive to work around

Panda4994 once did a livestream to compare designs with and without QC. At the time, there were a few really specific things that were basically not possible without QC, but even those usually had workarounds. On the other hand lots of major things are impossible with QC, basic stuff like extending only the middle one of three sideways pistons stacked on each other.
idk if this footage happened before or after Mumbo's latest episode was filmed but when Mumbo is genuinely impressed by complex redstone machines, you know you did something right. Pearl is a genius in the making.
Glad you uploaded this, wish you had footage of where you were helping Cleo too! I think you are a great teacher and enjoyed both of these interactions!
A handy thing to remember for blocks that repeaters/comparators sit on, especially if the block receiving power is a problem - use slabs/stairs under the repeater/comparator. They can't pass power through.
What if pots were slower (at item tranferral). New item idea Honey Block + Pot = Honey Pot. Takes X game ticks to release its contents to a hopper, hopper mine cart, or just on honey pot destruction where X is 2 plus the redstone power level being fed to the honey pot.
i appreciate content like this so much, this is how i learn so much about redstone, kinda like how pearl has picked up alot over the years of hearing little bits on redstone, i never learn much from watching someone transfering redstone from a creative world to a survival world, usually because its hard to follow the logic in super compacted redstone. The comparator ignoring power when near an inventory was totally news to me
I'm not horrible at redstone even though it isn't my main thing, but even with my ability to do redstone I'm not sure that I could create this game like Pearl did.
it took me nearly halfway through the video to actually register that most of this is going completely over my head, so i think there's something to be said here about how enjoyable it is to just watch you two problem-solving together whether or not i actually understand the problems _or_ the solutions myself lol
The fact that you need to be an electrical engineer to make this work is downright nuts to me lol. Like, I cannot believe either of you know what eachother are talking about, whatsoever. I don't even know what I'm looking at lmao
The funny thing is the initial problem of the comparator not reading the chest could have been solved by replacing the chest with a barrel.. the comparator would have read the barrel and I think the original design would have worked. lol
Something you could have done to avoid the dropper being quasi powered is to swap the redstone block and repeater for a Composter/cauldron and comparator.

Not sure, but I think this could apply to more than just code

The fact Etho is still tweeking his minigame frogger is the reason we haven't seen a video from him in a month.
And that's he's on tge mcc training server 24/7
He also posted on twitter that he had things happening with family and people were staying over so it wasn't ideal for making videos, he's been back working on the froglight shop for a week I think now
yeah he is spending time with family but also a bunch of hermits said they saw him on mcc island a LOT after mcc lmao
That and he's been on mcci a lot the past month and according to a post on his subreddit from someone who's played with him multiple times, etho has improved A LOT
that's all just a cover story, in reality his tissue box broke down and finding a suitable replacement is just a very lengthy process
The fact that a Redstone beginner made this game and is getting help from the experts
The fact that her asks are *stumping* the experts really tells you what you need to know.
Absolutely adore how supportive you are of Pearl and her redstone. Watching a pro appreciate a very impressive ‘newbie’ is very very fun and comforting!
I love Pearl's redstone arch
I love pearl's redstone bridge
I love Pearl's redstone Golden Gate Bridge
I love Pearl's redstone Ark. The Noah of our generation, she is!
The speed with which Pearl is learning redstone is amazing. I loved this collaboration.
Im loving so much that Pearl is expanding her redstone knowledge and that yall are there to help quide her.
I love how it's turtles all the way down-when Xisuma is stumped, he has Psibot(?) come in with help from the chat.

The amount of redstone behind is crazy.
this is a really good video, very technical but very enjoyable, the speed at which pearl is picking up redstone is astounding
even Mumbo believes she surpassed him by now

10:34 Cybot is like Batman seeing the redstone distress signal in the sky or like Spiderman and their redstone spidey sense went off 🤣
And how fast he knew the answer to what X was looking for is incredibly sharp on his part
Hermitcraft once again showing the power of teamwork!
Wholesome feel good content imo. It's fun to see Hermits prank each other, but I also get warm fuzzy vibes from kind and helpfu moments like this.l
I saw Xisuma and Pearl in the notification important stuff when you see the names Xisuma and Pearl in the title

Pearl casually mastering redstone (with the help of pros) while etho is fine tuning his Frogger.
Nice.

"I've fallen into my redstone..."
Congrats Pearl, you are now officially A Redstoner™
Impressive Redstone fix you two worked around that Giant Noodle cave I was about to suggest a few sponges for next time.
I love watching the progression and logic behind it, then the refinement into a nice solution. Just really nice to watch and appreciate

I had no idea about the container override on comparators, that is super interesting!

Love this collab with Pearl. Watching her redstone journey have been amazing.

Puzzling it out with Pearl.
Poor Etho 😆
PearlescentMoon is definitely breaking through as a redstoner. I'm amazed!
I'm not horrible at redstone even though it isn't my main thing, but even with my ability to do redstone I'm not sure that I could create this game like Pearl did.
X helps Pearl to go from Quasi powered to Ozzy powered. All the Restone this season is going to make a certain shop a lot of Diamonds 🤘
10:56 you can use the copper bulb to do that though
Minigame idea: have a 20x20 wall of trapdoors and have the contestants try to flip all the trap doors using only 10 wind charges
it took me nearly halfway through the video to actually register that most of this is going completely over my head, so i think there's something to be said here about how enjoyable it is to just watch you two problem-solving together whether or not i actually understand the problems _or_ the solutions myself lol
This was a fun video to watch. Thank you for putting up clips of stream highlights. So much good content in streams won't fit into episodes.
Super brave of both of them to do redstone on stream
Pearl is being far to humble, she really knows her stuff man.

That waters keep leaking is slightly terrifying lol.
Etho deathlooping in his own minigame
game over. insert 1 (one) patience.
I think I can smell my brain cooking.
Something you could have done to avoid the dropper being quasi powered is to swap the redstone block and repeater for a Composter/cauldron and comparator.
It’s almost like quasi power is a bug.
Top marks for both student and teacher.
I have no idea what they are discussing but it's pretty good vid
yay!!
