RedRaven looked like he was having a major battle with himself this whole damn game
Ironically, he may well have "won" the game. While Gyle was duly busy watching the Chicken and subsequent nuke attempt, Redraven seems to have done a little incursion that took out the Novax and took down Gugae's fleet HQ. While Mosambique and Blacksky weren't really getting anywhere and were somewhat getting pushed back at that point.
Call it pulling a JarJar, but we all know he was the true Darth Lorth of the Sid all along :).
Missing with one nuke because of poor scouting is bad, but it can happen. Missing with two nukes because of poor scouting is inacceptable. Missing with three nukes while hovering above the smds with a Novax is purposefully sabotaging yourself.
Scouting is overrated, i tend to perfectly carpetbomb the entire map with nukes, which creates a highly detailed heatmap of all enemy SMDs.
i realize I am pretty off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream newly released series online ?

hey gyle! long time viewer. Just wanted to say thanks for keeping this game alive for me. I really appreciate the dedication and amount of time you have invested in this game :)

Gugae was my mvp in this game - he deserves his 1000 rating. I won't point at those who don't though.
I got stomach cramps from stressing out over all the horrible gameplay. This was literally physically painful to watch.

Gugae did a great job on the battles. Arbok had a good strategic sense, putting them in a winning position (one mistake aside :P ). Mosambique struggled but pulled out the clutches to win the game, Blacksky was the primary threat for a long time, Humm got unlucky to be yeeted first, and RedRaven probably turned around the game against team 2.
35:24 much as i want t3 to win for the agression and t3 battleship, its gonna be Mr. Eco in the corner with his com surrounded by e-storage.
30 min In and I feel red has lost with no eco, making his team lose. I feel that yellow and grey will win as they haven't been attacked much and are also turtleing hard

Oh my, this game was so painful to watch. At least it's a good demonstration of what doesn't work...
That battleship misuse, and unit misuse in general, is painful.
My favorite part was when Purple seemed to be afk, but then built 3 units and took back their coastal base. But then they just sat there.

35:09 I think I need to predict northeast, in the green and yellow. They've been successfully holding off for a while, the perfect recipe to come storming back out after a skirmish
Since you asked for it Gyle. My game theory at 30 min:
Purple is going to get wiped by green and red together after red kinda sorts its eco.
Then yellow follows up and wipes dark red bc green and red start pushing him. Meanwhile gray starts pounding away red in the top and then continues towards his mainbase.
Endgame green and yellow keep fighting, red gets killed by gray and then gray and yellow win the game ^^
Well. That went a bit differently. Wtf was Arbok (gray) doing?
I expected him to venture out after he got all the T3 stuff but he stayed in his base. I think he could have taken alllll of Raven (red) if he would only make some naval and try to land on the top island. At that point Raven was still focussing on ecoing. He should have used the nukes on Raven as well. Yellow was holding his own so he had allll the time in the world to start doing something.
The Novax would have been useful on the naval yards as well btw. Just shutting down that stream of subs.
At least I was right about grey killing red XD
Hey Gyle! Downlord's client has feature when you can rate replays. Atm feature is usable but not really complete. you can see high rated (many 4 and 5 stars) replays in vault tab when scrolling down.
You should spread the word about them so people rate replays in vault and that would make finding good replays easyer

30:00 game time prediction: guy that's eco-ing is going to win, because he will be the first to get to the inevitable artillery fest mini-game xD
Usual joe-game problem: not nearly enough frigates nor shield boats
@I Do Declare Sub-spam sinks to t1 torp defenses, and doesn't affect land units at all. So if t1 sub spam isnt followed up by quick macro into t2 surface, it will lose. Frigate spam is cheaper, faster, higher impact, and leads to a stronger surface presence.
Basically, no. Subs are a tactical choice, not a primary one.
Also: torpedo bombers
If I stumbled about this game in replay section by myself I would have said Team will win. They had the eco and team 1 was incompetent. However, knowing this is a Gyle cast and not having witnessed a mayor twist yet 30 minutes in, I knew that team 3 would win.

Its really cool to see all the different stratedy's at play from different ranked players.
Painfull to watch someone have control of half the map and not take eco advantage, but I'm definitely aware of my own 'armchair quarterback' status, idk what i'd do if I had that much map to try and manage.
That being said... Blind-firing nukes is so dumb it hurts
After a broadcast while it's still recording you should play a 1v1 who cares if you win or lose its entertaining to see you talk about your particular build style and exciting to see the outcome

Ha, that nuke was not shot down! The volatile SACU blew up, killing an energy storage, killing in turn the pgen and the other adjacent storages, some of which took down the SML.

35:06 I think that team 3 will win since they have the best balance of eco and aggression. Hummelprinz looks to be the best all round player, Arboks too timid with his units, skylane is good enough on eco to rival him and Mozambique is slightly more skilled than gugae. Red raven is dragging prinz down.
Haha I was right! Arbok offended my sensibilities although taking out team 1 personally was really good had he been more aggressive with his fatboys he could have had the eco to take on team 3. Thing is I liked the riptide play from arbok but he was so scared to go do anything with them shoot had he taken out red raven when he had the massive eco lead team 2 might have won but red raven sealed the result of the game with the naval raid on team 2.
44 minutes in and despite all the turtling by Arbok, he never built a radar.
37:58 i think team 2 is going to will based on the fact of them having a large naval presence and experimental units
did anyone else desperately want gyle to notice the naval incursion on the north-east at 55:20? I really wanted to see that unfold.
35:00 prediction: Team 2 will win because of high condensed eco and UEF navy/fatboys. Players are not high skill enough to predict though, so anything can happen. For instance, it is a little crazy that the team that grabbed the least mexes and spawned reclaim got the highest eco.
35 mins in and I'm going for yellow's team because I like the look of his navy.
35:00 Betting on Team 3. They have decent eco, decent map control, decent amount of ships. Although Team 2 also looks like a good bet.
40:00 in and I'm predicting team 2 wins it because Arbok is allowed to basically sit back and build units and artillery/nukes completely unopposed as his ally takes all the heat.

35:12 I am going with team 1 since they hold the most ground for quite some time and don't get any pressure from the right side only from bottom. They have much more mass points.
35:21 team 2, they have held out so far with only one player attacking/defending while the other turtles and assists when needed. He has good eco so I'm guessing he knows how to play the end game.....

Damn, I really thought team 2 would squeak it out, but between those poorly placed nukes, and mosambique sneaking into Gugae's com Arbok really let everybody down.
Didn't have much hope for team 1 even though they had massive territory control. Not upgrading quickly enough and not being aggressive enough really bit them hard.
34:41: The North West team looks like they've played the more sensible game to me... They denied the bottom island and had the center for a long time. Also, as an aside, Gyle took the time out of his cast to tell his wife to make him a sandwich 31:55. A brave and fearless caster.

I'm glad they didn't. Arbok's turtle might be sound strategy but is about as boring as it gets to watch. His teammate I can sympathise with. Just sitting there with those fatties was a damn waste. Should have shifted them to the middle island + support units to shell the enemy.

Ok, I'm calling it at 38:18 - Team 2 winner. The other teams have better map control & coordination, respectively, but Team 2 developed far faster & more efficiently. Team 1 could have run away with this fight if Raven had upgraded the ridiculous amount of mexes he had.
38:07 I'm thinking Team 2 is going to win at this point. The other teams seem to be more focused on fighting each other, Team 2 seems to be able to build up its forces and base in a relatively low pressure environment
And just for fun, I'll take a guess at who's going to die first: Team 1. RedRaven took up a whole bunch of space on the map and was unable to do anything with it due to being mass-locked, and seems to be crippling his own team. We shall see as I don't know shit about this game.

35:00 At the beginning t3 looked like they were going to grab half the map and out-eco the others. t1 has a lot of land but RedRaven has no idea how to eco. At the moment, I think t2 will win it through a combo of UEF: turtle&fatboy spam and seriph: zthuee/cruiser spam.

I was so horribly wrong. Those nukes and attrocious choices in what to spend their eco on was just painful to watch. Even just sending fatboys onto the middle island and raining fire down from there would have been a better choice. I've seen AI's play better xD

He mentioned their shields are mostly bad because you gotta "upgrade them 1000 times for them to be useful" snd something like "cybran are very bad on defense"
