What i really like about Delta is that they build up an image of a hard working and care taking airline. They try their best to seperate themselves from their competetors to be a better airline.
And they kind of want to veer off that American Airline image that people have. It’s incredible quality for your buck, it’s as good as many ME and Asian airlines out there.
They're definitely a cut above the other US based airlines. It'd be interesting to know though why Skytrax still only rates them a 3 star airline, lower than most their skyteam companions.
This is the only youtube channel that makes me feel like I am on the actual aircraft. I ALWAYS feel nostalgic of my flights when i watch this. The Humour, HD Camera etc are just the best there is. Love it! Subscribed.

What a fantastic report! Very detailed, you're obviously a pilot with all that knowledge you were imparting. I've had one flying lesson and looking forward to doing more. A330-900 NEO is rarely covered so good to see a review on it.
The A339 is a rare aircraft and flying long haul, so that night be why there are fewer reports. I encourage people to fly on it, very confortable plane.
And just a flight simulator pilot, if I ever have the time for it.. So, wrong guess! :D

Superb video. Very clear quality footage. Steady hands. Seems they picked up a good load and must be doing well on their transatlantic flights.
The loads are now insane, I miss those days of travel! I pay now 3x more and sit twice as cramped 😂

Thank you for the detailed trip report. I was fortunate to fly on this same route in Delta One back in July. I loved the A330-Neo and it was a thrill to be a passenger on it.
Delta One looked really nice on this aircraft, I am looking forward to fly it. Hell yes it was a thrill, but must have been nicer there up front hearing the engines on take off!

Great quality and good content. I enjoyed all the details regarding the aircraft from takeoff to landing and I'm confident that I can fly the A339 comfortably after this tuition. Food was definitely a surprise, especially the unlimited aspect which I'm sure will be pulled once traffic increases. Looking forward to many more interesting flights.

Try to get a window seat, it will be easier for you. You’ll understand that the plane might be shaking due to clouds. You can’t see that in the middle😀

I'd hoped to get the (Delta) 767 one way and the A350 on the other in order to see them both...but hopefully this is the first of many opportunities.

Glad I stumbled across this video, really well done and informative. Flying the a330-300 SFO to Athens and paid the extra for Comfort Plus. It was nice to see your positive review, there are several reviews that are less than glowing haha. I personally think the extra legroom is nice to have especially on a longer flights. We'll see!

I will only write positive, I’m positive myself and life is whatever you make out of it. I’m very extroverted and it’s easy for me to have a good time with the crew so I actually never get any attitude back, quite the contrary.
And I won’t, for example, complain about airlines or seats as through experience and reviews I know what to expect. Those airlines I simply don’t like I just won’t fly, not monetize on someone’s faults!

Great report!! Flew Delta many years ago and the miniatures were given in a dark paper bag. They did not have too many!! LOL!!

@@TheLayoverAviation There are many pages doing the same thing. You have a unique selling point. My only bit of advice is more voice overs especially for things like cabin tours. It's hard to look at the cabin as you walk through while reading the captions at the same time. It works for the plane spotting but for the more elaborate parts it's hard to focus on both.
The voice overs are something I have considered yet I don’t know how to add it all without actually blocking the background noise. I’ll think of a way of combining both without making scenes or the video too long. We’ll see!

@@TheLayoverAviation Yes. Not a huge fan of the approach from Mirdiff/Emirates Road but still pretty good at Dubai. Anyways its mostly going to be Turkish Airlines from Amsterdam to Dubai sometime early next year.
Make sure you try to fly their A350, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
And yes, this approach to 30L kind of sucks, everyone would enjoy from the sea side better. But the wind decides😁
Not at par with the best, but the best. Trip reports on this channel are better than every trip report channel on youtube I can think of.
As a KLM fan, I am impressed by Delta. The humor on the toilet, the food and drinks and also the fact that the welcomemessage was also in Dutch flying from Amsterdam.
Patrick, every single message was also performed (live, not pre-recorded) in Dutch. There were 2 Dutch crew on board. I find that very good considering the massive operation they run from Amsterdam.

@@TheLayoverAviation I agree. With KLM on flights to Japan they have dedicated Japanese crew and groundcrew on Schiphol. And the Dutch crew on Spanish, German or Italian destinations speak that language.
Who in his right mind is fan of KLM?

I like the music
Think one of the biggest benefits Delta offers over others is the "Comfort+" class. It's a viable, reasonably priced upgrade from Main Cabin Economy. I have a flight from west coast of U.S. to Southeast Asia coming up and I can do Comfort+ for about $750 USD, but Premium Economy would be around $1,000 USD. I'm fine with Comfort+!

I’m flying Delta comfort plus for the first time next month on a long haul flight to Lisbon, Portugal on a Boeing 767 couldn’t resist booking that because it has the 2-4-2 layout which I love! I booked a window seat, it’s the best seat on the plane I would never sit in the aisle row no thank you 😂

Nice video. Wooden cutlery is the end of the way of flying as we know it! Why don't they tell us to buy our own food and bring it into the plane? Like the French say: C'est le décadence sans élégance.😁
And planes used to be made out of wood, so the roles have changed!😜
I don’t know what to think about the wood cutlery. Of course I prefer metal, but I wonder why I find wooden chopsticks chill while cutlery not🤷🏻♂️.
And many already make us bring our own food, just check my Finnair video😅.

Beautiful wing the A330 Neo has the highest Aspect Ratio of any aircraft other than the Embraer.

@@TheLayoverAviation Yeap A330 Neo wing aspect ratio its 11 that its super efficient less induced drag. 777X, 787 and A350 are in the 9 to near 10 range.

I left all bells and whistles home and just solely use Iphone Xs. Will change it soon for a newer model as it’s hard to film at night with this one.

Bingo, it’s an A330-200!
Its not louder on the 330, its just that those new R&Rs are so quiet that you can hear it all happening. The 787 is also noticeably louder for the same reason, compared to boeing's other stuff.
I just came off from a B787 and I found the engines very quiet. Many electronical noises though.

The A330neo is a great plane. I have been lucky enough to ride it many times since Delta added it to the fleet. I'd pick it over the 787 any day of the week. It's comfortable and very very quiet. I think Airbus did a pretty good job updating the ceo. By the way the new winglet is very nice looking, i'ts just that Delta's paint design for it make it look weird with the sharp navy blue to white transition. They should not use solid navy blue and should have gradient it out and it would look very nice.
I agree with you in everything except for the winglet part, I was on board the Uganda Airlines A330-800 and still couldn’t get used to it! But everyone their own taste..

@@TheLayoverAviation I've flown a lot on A330neo and if you get more exposure to the winglet from different seat locations, you will notice drastically different views. The new winglet's leading edge is not in a smooth curve of the same arc, it is a rapid transition into a different arc, as they tried to keep the wingspan design unchanged. Airbus's paint scheme template for this part contribute to the "distorted" view from the cabin. On the ground, the winglet looks very nice from most angles If you ever seen the unpainted/white version, you'd understand why I made that comment. Just like the A350's, Delta's choice of livery design for the winglet makes it look less appealing. Delta has the Delta logo on the A350's winglet, so I don't understand why they didn't do the same on the A330neo and use a gradient of the blue paint to make the curve/raked design more elegant. The sharp transition of navy blue to white with a harsh line breaks the curve. You don't have to believe me, just look at JAL's paint scheme on these curved winglets and you will agree they look better.
