I have jbl soundbar 2.1 deep bass
You probably know this but when you go from a 4 ohm driver to an 8 ohm driver, you lose half the power but you double the control of the cone so it should sound cleaner (damping factor). The lower the impedance the less and less controlled the bass will be.
For example, I think one of my old car amps, an Alpine 500 Watt model, had a damping factor of 200 at 4ohms bridged but could do 2ohms but damping factor went down to 100.
This means the subwoofer would not stop as fast so when the next note was to be played by the sub it would still be in motion from the last note resulting in less fidelity, muddier sound, and less hard hitting thump.
I can say that I did hear a difference in overall bass clarity when I wired my home setup for 8 ohms bridged vs 4 ohms bridged on (2) 12" subs each in their own 4.6" cubic foot enclosures tuned to 21hz.
Powered by a Denon AVR S760 LFE out to a Rolls MB15B line driver - RCA to XLS format changer to a Crown XLS2000.
