Both are great. The N64 was pushed to the limit with this game. I do prefer the N64 version just because is wasn't censored as much. Both are good to play either way.

They squeezed EVERY LITTLE BIT of Power and Ram out of the N64 to make this game. Salute

Going from 5th generation consoles to 6th gen was probably the biggest jump in quality we've seen. Arguably 6th to 7th.

Wow...umm Conker is legally obligated to wear short pants in the Xbox version. Nintendo was I guess more lenient in wardrobe. Also Berri's phone is cordless on N64 but has a cord on the Xbox.
Anyways N64 hits out of the park in sound quality. Dolby Digital and Mills Sound System with MPEG-3 playback. High quality stuff.

Also notice Berri shows more cheeks & her back says 69 in the Xbox version. 4:21

I had both versions when they were new. The Xbox version was great in terms of the visuals and gameplay, but the censorship ruined it.
The toilet-humor in Conker's Bad Fur Day is a very large part of why it's great. It's really not the gameplay.
The best way to see why the N64 original is better than the Xbox remake, even though the latter is vastly-improved on the visuals and playability/framerate is to compare the Great Mighty Poo segment.
On Xbox, it looks way better, runs smoothly and so plays better, but there's a problem - the opera song about shitting is *censored* on Xbox.
This is a case where the game on its own, if you took out all the humor, is actually kind of a mid-platformer. It's not as good as others on N64. The toilet-humor is what elevated it to true greatness.
Therefore; N64 original wins, despite being very inferior in lots of ways to the Xbox remake. This is further proven by the fact that the Rare Replay package on XBO/Series includes the original N64 version of CBFD, and not the Xbox remake.

N64 looks to be playing some scenes at single digits

And 8000 polygons per frame....for comparison TombRaider3 does 2000...Conker alone has 1200 polygons....Snake in MGS is 700 polygons...Leon RE2 is 1000 but that game is only character that are 3D.....so yeah theres a reason for that

The same reason why Nintendo created a hard limit on the number of polygons a DS can display per frame.

@@juststatedtheobvious9633 yeah and the moment any game went above the hard limit on NDS the game slowed down like crazy, so it was a dvmb decision to take...its never good to restrict what a developer can put in game....if they want to create a game that runs 8000 polygons per frame at 15fps what is the reson not to allow them to? The customers will vote with their wallets, i remind you Zelda Oot and Goldeneye both sold like 8 million copies and the framerate wasnt very good to put it lightly

Both versions have there ups & downs. Biggest concern was the censorship, but censorship aside:
N64 version has better facial expressions imo & kinda takes it's own visual advantages. In the Throne intro, N64 shows off different lighting effects & thunder which Xbox version lacks. Also very little load times. However... It's a N64 game. So the textures looks ugly in some areas, some parts in the game are very janky, & that frame rate that can hardly keep a 30fps.
Xbox version did improved a few aspects. The frame rate is more stable, Controls are better, the jank parts from the N64 version had improved, has a more combat focus mechanic, the visuals & graphics are really impressive, & it kinda looks like an early Xbox 360 game at times.
Honestly, you can't really go wrong with either version.

I think I like some Conker expressions better? Also camera work is better in N64.
Xbox even miss Conker reflection outside the bar!

La version de N64 tiene mejores animaciones en las expresiones de los personajes y la version de Xbox se ve bien pero le faltaron esas expresiones faciales.

I loved the N64 when it was new, but the Xbox version beats it in every way. Watching this makes you remember how much effort a "remake" used to be. All new assets while staying true to the original... Now they just dial it in, minimal effort.
