Seeing the graphics change in real time is a real dream
Alan Wake 2 does this too
Wow! The devs actually did a great job with this port. Looks like the optimization is on point
Not well optimized. Well designed from the ground up. 2 different things.
@@christophermullins7163 So well optimized😐
@@christophermullins7163super well optimised 💪
Well they've been pushing out PS games on PC for a while now. They'd better be good at it by now.
@@christophermullins7163 Bro shut up lol
4k. 85-90fps, high settings on my 7900XT. No upscaling. It's crazy.
Playstation magic
my rx 6800 non xt runs this at4k ultra with fsr at 60 fps stable :) hoy to play
4080 rtx 110 4k maxed everything
@@ArdaSReal U think so ? runs on 30-40 fps on console ^^ 60 fps on 900p mode.
This happens when devs actually give a fuck once.
God of War 4 is still one of the best looking games I have for pc. Can’t wait to see this!
sony hits some dingers...
tlou, spiderman, horizon, days gone, god of war, ratchet, tsushima etc etc
that's a damn stable!
the glorious part is all of them are even better on PC, now that, is what I'm talking about!
blud just ignored Concord. I mean if you only focus on the good stuff then they are always stable
High time to render the game settings in the menu in real time, looks awesome and more importantly professional
I'm from Brazil, absolutely love your content, straight to the point and very conclusive. Thank you.
oie
I just bought a 4080 super, your videos were really helpful and i rewatched them alot over the past few days.
I know i know, 50 series is coming out in January, diminishing value after the 4070 super... but i don't care. I've never owned a high end card, i have a 165 hz 1440p monitor. I just had a big career milestone and splurged on a 4080 super. Getting ready to swap it now.
Which variant dud you get??? I bought the Gigabyte version & I'm having a blast 👍🏿
@@myquietreviews gigabyte aero! Gigabyte has served me well in the past
Completely fine choice, it'll last you half a decade at least. Bought a 4080 shortly after it launched (upgraded from a 1080ti I had used for 7 years) and outside of path traced games it's overkill for everything. Don't even think about settings, I just max it out and use DLSS Quality if it's available and/or even needed in the first place.
Isint it a bad time to buy ? Rtx 5000 is literally around the corner
People always act like you can immediately get your hands on the next gen of cards, like they're not going to be hard to snag for months. You may have ended up waiting way longer than you think.
A 15-minute video about a game's settings menu. This man is a true PC gamer.

I still prefer they show a scene where the specific setting makes a difference.
Cause you might not be standing at a location where alle settings will make a difference. (Think particle, hair effects etc.)
it would be even cooler if the test scene was animated to get an approximate FPS number. But that would take a long time i implement.
CPU optimization is king and paramount in order to make every other hardware component sing. Ghost of Tsushima has some random traversal stuttering occurrences on PC due to poor CPU usage.
God of War the previous game
i5-4460
16GB RAM
RX 5700 XT
1080p
AVG FPS cap at 60
1% LOW FPS 30 - 45/ mostly 30
Because the game has no car driving, it is very playable with these frames.
Oh that's such a nice improvement, the pictures in the last god of war left a lot to be desired
while cyberpunk updates with FSR 3.0 , forcing RTX20/30 series users to use MOD or Lossless Scaling .
4k ultra settings at a very steady 60fps native, turn on dlss Ultra and it ticks along at a steady 130 fps, i7 13700k with 64gb ram and 4070ti, very nice port so far in my experience, this is running on the 43" Samsung neo G7 4k mini-led 144hz.
Wow what a port, actually kicking ass vanilla pc games. Also cat vomiting and Daniel's reaction, priceless lol
Has someone who played on the ps4 this game looked good even on that
Kudos to Jetpack and Nixxes for doing such amazing jobs porting PS exclusive titles to pc in such an optimzied way possible. Big brain move of Sony to buy Nixxes.
The tanks performance on chapter 2 like 30%
Yeah the snowy area at the beginning is very lightweight so i had like 100 fps on High 1440p Native but in Svartalfheim fps just droped like crazy.
@@bakasandwich6162 I can confirm svartalfhiem drops like crazy. Right when I beached the boat, I started noticing things going wrong. Reducing shadow quality gives back a lot of fps. I think atmospherics and models are also big consumers of fps.
@@sias.2569 yeh its crazy shadow quality and Tessellation lowering helps alot i think these 2 are the biggest consumers of fps Tessellation from high to mid gave me like 20fps+
Dan explaining frame generation for the hundreth time. Teachers
Good point about the great art design, FF7 was pushing massive technical boundaries at 720p to get 60fps on the PS5
I wouldn't even call it 720p for Rebirth, It's so blurry. They say its 1440p but it looks worse than 540p native
Space Marine2, Gow Ragnarok, it's refreshing to see some game devs doesn't forget that graphics alone doesn't make a game great, you don't need fancy lightings that forced us to use upscaling to run them.
Space Marines is CPU heavy. GoW Ragnarok is a PS4 game fundamentally and doesn't look too different from the first game. Being able to see stuff change in real time is good though
Not enough exclamation points, unsubbing 😂

*Love the real time changes when making setting changes*
Nice vid! And yes this game is very well optimized.
However I hv a tips for guys who play this game. DLSS Q + FSR FG is great combo, clean & high fps (1080p, medium, I get 170 fps in a few scene lol) but I find it it make the game crash on 2 places.
First, in the island near geyser at the lake. After I broke the floor and drop down I find the grim monster then game crash & forced close.
Second, in the mine looking for Tyr. Getting out from a short cave, meet the grim monster, crash & forced close.
I try to tweak my graphic settings then found then when I change my FG from FSR to DLSS then it'll be just fine. Other than this the game is smooth & such a nice experience in my 7 hrs playtime so far.
My spec:
Lenovo LOQ, i5 gen 13, RTX 4050 6GB, RAM 16 GB dual-channel DDR5. Play it on 1080p.
If I ever get around to finishing the first one "which I purchased on steam". I may play this one on a seafairing vessel.
*Ryzen 3000 + RTX4070*
The 2nd game seems similar to the 1st game. In "God of War" I had "Ultra" (4K + DLSS Quality) except shadows were turned down one notch (made a big FPS difference). I set my max FPS to 90 and mostly stayed locked at 90FPS. To me, getting 90FPS is my goal because it looks super smooth on my GSync monitor. I'm kind of ruined for 60FPS and below frankly, mostly because the visuals seem to strobe/shimmer (don't know the word). Those issues go away at roughly 80FPS+
I don't care if it's a cross-generation game, it performs well and looks amazing, can't ask for more
very good texture
very good shadows(no ray needed as other dev said its important for good shadows)
very good lights and models(also no ray need its all done without it and look like it )
gooooooooooooood performance from day 1
Very informative video thank you. Also, does the pc version have the Valhalla dlc?
Well, I was already hesitant about buying the game before the PSN stuff because they didn't intend on selling it on GoG, where I bought the first one. Now, I can't legally buy the game even if I wanted to...looks like my 6900XT should be able to handle this just fine.
As always, it's fully optimized game 🎉
This games performance looks calm and reasonable but is it calm and reasonable
Make sure to restart when changing texture quality
A game I can play at 4k 60+ native? That is an interesting prospect in 2024. Tell me more..
Amazing port.
who ported this? they did amazing job
Same studio who did the first game. It's Jetpack Interactive
@@crestofhonor2349 cool, another company that can properly port ps5 games, nixxes were doing great too, hope these guys will do more in future, we need quality stuff
190GB! Jesus Christ games have become hungry for storage space.
GoW 2018 I get 80-90fps @1080p DLSS Quality enabled ultra settings
Ragnarok I get a stable 120fps @1080p DLSS DLAA enabled + frame gen medium settings with ultra textures.
Ragnarok looks better, despite being on lower settings, and performs much better, somehow.
Frame gen is taking me from 80ish to a stable 120, but even ~80fps on a better looking image is hurting my brain a little. they've done a great job on this port.
That's because newer games tend to optimize their textures better relative to their previous games on the same engine.
08:12 - Finally someone said what it does and how it works.
I keep saying that it will only improve the smoothness of the picture, but the latency remains the same. Most everyone says the opposite.
In house game engines baby f*** UE it is so bad.
i actually see the game cpu bottleneck for older 6 core cpus, the game also seems to use only 4 cores fully, in svartalfheim the fps goes down a lot, but if u have an older 6 core cpu, it is the cpu issue, not gpu
my 4070 super 4K ultra settings could only run like 40 fps some time, maybe need to lower the setting or using DLSS
Woot
Hello! Do you wear glasses because of eyes problems or is it just aesthetics?
I enjoy my gaming at 30 fps and 720p does that make me a horrible gamer. Back when I played my first SNES game. I wasn't yelling at my console cause the game broke frame rate or cause the image looked like Mario puked onto the screen. People just lost the reason we all play games.
Video games are about immersion. We love to play games and feel like we're lost inside it rather than playing it. When your FPS struggles you kinda get a snap back to reality so we like when games minimize loading screens, the improved load times, not having lag.
Also it's a matter of technology. We're spending 500$ on these systems even up to 1000$+ on PCs. We deserve to get our value payed back to us with well developed games. I don't mind a little lag here and there, but it's the fact that I won't let a company get away with making a bad product even if I can tolerate it.
I'm willing to replay this game after platinuming it on ps5 but only if modders manage to edit out all the annoying Atreus parts.
I turned on gyro aiming for those and it made them my favourite part of the game lol
@@ArdaSRealYeah but you still have the uberlong walking parts. Gyro aiming cannot help with that.
better green screen setup...👍
Try amd gpu with fsr3.1 and fg on top of that afmf and don’t forget the lossless scaling 😂😂❤
The first gameplay you show has HOORIBLE fog. And the image is so soft. WHy
This is what a good pc port games should look like, unlike 'The Last of Us,' which consumes excessive performance and VRAM for no reason.
Sony would rather have no sales in all those countries than make the Playstation account not obligatory
Their decision, its their game
PSN = Pass
Why can't Space Marine 2 run this well!
This game is doing different stuff and is a PS4 game at heart. Space Marines 2 is current gen only and is CPU heavy thanks to the monster hoards
Comments 💀
SEGA
actually the area u choose for this video is one of the worst looking, its dream like sequence with some kind of filter that makes everything meh
I just bought all my parts for my PC besides the GPU. I went with a Ryzen 9 7950X3D, Arctic Liquid Freezer III 420mm, Asus ROG Strix B650E-E gaming wifi, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64 GB 6000 CL30 Ram, 1TB and 4TB Samsung 990 Pro M.2, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1200w and for the case the Asus ProArt PA602. For the GPU i plan on getting an rtx 5090. Will that be a valid choice and what could maybe be improved or could be different?
Lol you are literally speaking about a graphics card not out yet and probably a 3000€ / $ card in the first 3 months... If you do not have a good frame pacing....no one will.
😂😂😂
@@MicaelAzevedo This one will be my second PC im building, the first one was like 6 years ago and on a budget of 1000€ at the time. So now i want to do it right and want to keep my Pc for at least the same time. Thats why im asking if the combo will be good or if i should improve/ change something :)
If you have already bought the pc why not buy a 4090 too and upgrade later 5090 will be 2000$ (base warient) top if it comes with 24gb vram
@@mrshinobigaming8447 I currently have a used 2080 from my brother so i can still get along. But i dont want to spend almost 2000€ now and 2000+ on the 5090 then.
Review bombing doesn't do shit. You need to vote with your wallet.
190gb
Just bought it. The download itself is actually around 100GB. Still pretty big, but not really 190GB.
Bro talking bout a game being too big 😂
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i managed to run this game on some old goofy intel cpu, 16bg ram, hdd and a gtx 1050 with 2gb of vram. had to download the fix cuz the game wouldn't start cuz of the low vram 🤣i put it on low, 1080p, locked at 30 and performance upscaling cuz i don't want risk my toaster blowing up but i think you can run it with even better settings. the game doesn't look great but i's playable just don't activate any silly settings like the fsr frame gen, that made the grass come alive and start moving on its own and turned the snow into rainbow coloured lights falling from the sky. personally i'm shocked that they managed to optimize the game so well and do such a good pc port that it even runs on my ancient laptop.
It is a PS4 game
@@crestofhonor2349 and?
@@metalface_villain that’s why it runs that way. The tech isn’t that different from the original 2018 game
Ghost of tsushima's optimization is a joke compared to this game lol. Both are ps4 era games but Gow runs much better while looking like a next gen title.
Sign in or quit game 💀
Bemching video!
I always found it funny when you use yourself to point things on the screen. 😂
Unfortunately, I can confirm. That when you reach svartalfheim your frame rate will be literally halved
So... yeah, it's not a good port,
Drop shadows to Low, and Models to at least Medium, it helped me a lot. I had drops to 45-55 FPS but with this two options changed i just got constant 70+ fps still Native without Frame Gen
Complex scene takes a performance hit? Lmao what a crazy discovery
It's almost like not all areas will have the same performance
It makes sense that the beginning area runs very well, there's a snow storm and it's very foggy, you cannot see very far, in svartalfheim you can actually see pretty far.
the area is much more cpu intensive, not gpu, older 6 core will be a bottleneck especially when the game seems to use only 4 cores...
6:14 I guess Kitty doesn't like Upscaling the game 😅
But, you still need to have a higher PC rig than PS4/ps5 to play this the same PS4/PS5 performances and settings. You are a complete noob if you argue with me for this one. You should not play this again if you have played it on your PS5 and your GPU is at only 6800/7700xt/3070ti range or below.
That's true, but mostly because console can do neat tricks to hide where it reduces the load compared to PC.
Also console is the exact same specs every single time. You only need to optimize for 1 piece of tech rather than Nvidia Turing, AMD RDNA, Intel Xe HPG. Then there's Intel and AMD CPUs. They all have unique architectures just within a few generations as well.
So your cat doesn't like this game :)
cat :(
So called PC masterrace when the best games on PC are console titles
Best game is elden ring
52nd
*Correction* God of Woke.
Why its 190 GB ? Its just a corridor based story "press E to continue dialogue" game.
God of wars combat is pretty complex and its has many "realms" that and high resolution plus high quality everything else and thats what you get. Press e to continue my ass, its called an adventure game
@@ArdaSReal well... I played the first one myself. And 50% of the play time was dialogue and cutscenes.
Ps4 version of this game is at 100gb install size, PS5 84gb ish, my guess is that they include both version to simplify for pc hardware requirement, have a potato then use PS4 asset, have a modern gaming rig then use PS5 version, et voila no optimization hell ala TLOU 😂
I dont like the washed out look of this game. Black is gray and there is a lot of bloom or glare.
Take a look at this scene, in the shade under the rock it should be much darker. 8:14
