  • Tetelas are triangle corn masa pockets filled with savory black beans.

    💚RECIPE:
    Corn Masa:
    2 cups of masa flour, nixtamalizada
    2 cups of hot water
    1/2 tsp salt
    Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Knead for at least 5 minutes or until it is no longer sticky.
    Form a large ball, divide into 2 oz masa balls.
    Cover with a clean kitchen towel.
    Makes 8 corn masa balls
    Filling:
    2 cups of whole black beans *little to no broth
    1 heaping tsp vegan bouillon
    Half of a small onion or wedge of large onion
    1/2 Tbsp avocado oil
    Chop the onion into large pieces, add oil to a skillet, fry onion over a medium flame until the onion is caramelized.
    Add the beans, vegan bouillon and caramelized onion with it’s oil drippings into a blender cup. Blend until you have a bean puree.
    *Adjust vegan bouillon or salt to taste.
    Shaping the Tetelas:
    Line a tortilla press with 2 sheets of plastic or wax paper.
    Place a masa ball one at a time in the center of the tortilla press in between the sheets of plastic/paper.
    Close and press down on the tortilla press, forming a tortilla.
    Open and remove the top sheet.
    Add about 1/2 Tbsp of bean puree to the center of the tortilla.
    Evenly spread the bean puree making sure to leave space between the edges.
    Fold each side of the tortilla towards the center, creating a cone shape.
    Finally fold the bottom part towards the center creating a triangle shape.
    Round off the edges.
    Pre heat a griddle. Place the Tetelas (Triangle corn pockets) on the hot griddle, cook over a low medium flame until both sides are toasted and the masa has cooked through.

    Hello, I tried your vegan carnitas and enoki mushrooms, it was exactly as I was expecting. 🤤 We loved them and we were surprised with them, but the dried mushrooms were weird. All of us ( My husband and 2 daughters) agreed that it tastes like chicken wings. After our 3rd vegan anniversary, we just couldn't eat them, but my 5 furbabies loved it.     RECETA:
    2 tazas de masa harina nixtamalizada
    2 tazas de agua
    1/2 cdta de sal
    En un recipiente grande mezcla todos los ingredientes.
    Amasa por al menos 5 minutos, cuando la masa se sienta suave esta lista.
    Forma una bola luego forma bolitas pequeñas de 2 oz cada una.
    Cubre con una toalla de cocina.
    Tendras 8 bolitas de masa.
    Relleno:
    2 tazas de frijol negro *sin caldo
    1 cdta cupida de consome vegano en pasta
    La mitad de una cebolla o un pedazo de cebolla grande
    1/2 Cda aciete de aguacate
    *Opcional 1 cdta de linaza molida para espesar el pure de frijol
    Corta la cebolla en pedazos grandes, frie la cebolla con el aceite hasta que se dore.
    Agrega los frijoles, pasta de consome vegano, la cebolla frita con el aceite y licua hasta obtener un pure.
    Haz ajuste de consome vegano or sal al gusto.
    Formando las Tetelas:
    Forra cada lado de tu prensa para tortillas con un pedazo de plástico.
    Coloca una bola de masa a la vez, presiona hacia bajo hasta crear una tortilla.
    Retira el plastico de enzima.
    Ahora unte mas o menos 1/2 CDA de pure de frijol.
    Dobla cada lado de la tortilla hacia el centro hasta formar un cono.
    Luego dobla la parte de abajo, hacia el centro hasta formar un triangulo.
    Pre calienta un comal.
    Coloca las Tetelas sobre el comal a fuego bajo medio hasta tostar por ambos lados.
    Retira cuando la masa este totalmente cocida.
    Sirve tus Tetelas con tus toppings favoritos.💚

    Thank you for this recipe it looks delicious. I'm making games with your recipe this weekend. I hope they come out as good as yours. I will try this soon maybe with some mushrooms and cebolla.. or papas and queso ! Ooohhhh soyarizo with papas and chile!! Oh my gosh!!! I'm starving and I just ate!! Lol!!
