Some hate Mavuika but let's be honest... Mavuika is a lovable character you simply can't hate, she has spent 500 years in a loop to finally find a method to save the nation she just like many others love so much. In her free time she is a normal human who drinks, feasts and hangs out with friends... laughs and cries. We without her just like she without us... The Natlan wouldn't be the same
I don't think people hate mavuika but how she's being handled by hoyo. Character wise and lore wise, i like her but she has her issues. Hoyo wouldn't stop showing the motorcycle, then it was revealed that its a big part of her gameplay. Its like topaz and numby in hsr. People pull for topaz but you're actually getting numby. Then it's also weird seeing people in tribal fit then there's mavuika in her suit. Plus I think the voice direction was weird, because it felt monotone for some of it which is more an issue with the voice direction because the VA clearly had the tone and sound of a professional.
She isn't immune to being hated imo, I mean I certainly dislike her, the design feels flat like it's stuck to body like glue, unliek characters such as Clorinde who has atleast one flowy object, Mauvika's contrast also just falls flat. Other than design aspects, she's presented as a character with no flaws and the secret she had to share which so so hyped up since the begginign of the game virtually doesn't exist
Having no flaws and qualms in a character makes it hard to relate to them and so they don't feel as human, it makes them less memorable imo (also boring asf)
@Gaeshiete i think what's worse is that any flaws that she has is presented behind supplementary content like her animation. And any chance of her showcasing flaws doesn't get fully explored. I think it's okay for her to be a little more on the flawless end, but every struggle she's faced with has a solution met with little resistance or it feels like it works out easier than the other archons

My favorite archon! And favorite nation despite some of the writing. I really like how the focus is on Natlan as a nation, all of them from Mavuika to the NPCs put Natlan and survival first. I know people complain Mavuika is 'too perfect' and the characters disconnected, but that's how it is in war. Self interest taints an army and that's essentially what Natlan is. And in order to ensure her army is willing to risk permadeath for the good of Natlan and Teyvat as a whole, Mavuika could only ever act and appear as a strong, confident leader without emotion.
I agree! Too many people call her bland and perfect. When really, in war people only look up to a stoic and emotionally strong leader, one who doesn't dwell too much on personal grievances. Only people who fail to see the nuances in her character call her a Mary Sue. She's one of the best written characters in Genshin imho.
I've always wondered why the statue of natlan is Mavuika not Xbalanque when all the other statues of the 7 are the 1st ever archons of their nations, but then a thought came to me that there were no statues of the 7 before the cataclysm. My theory is that after cataclysm the leylines and the abyss contaminations were really bad that the heavenly principles came up with an idea of statues that emits elemental energies to clear the areas with most concentrated abyssal energies of teyvat's 7 nations just like how they did with the celestial nails. Why i think this is very possible is that when heavenly principals summoned the 7, it was mavuika who arrived as the pyro archon. And also the dendro archon's statue looks a lot like nahida but it's actually rukkhadevata after she lost almost all her powers protecting the irminsul and shrinked to look like a child so thats why when nahida was born she was born taking the image of rukkhadevata before she died. So when heavenly principals created the 7 statues they created it in the image of the archons of that time. And if the cryo archon's statue happens to be the archon during cataclysm, this theory of mine will be right!
People will hate different things cause they have an idea in their head how the wanted the character to be and there are things I would have liked to see different but overall I thought she was a nice changed from the usual
I was really trying to find something about her that I actually like and the only thing is her hair design 😭 I am sure there are people out there who are really enjoying her story and her design but she really is not likeable for me..I think its because she had no real character growth whatsoever and most important parts were showed in animated shorts..I mean Natlan AQ for me was a miss as a whole, I more enjoy World Quests I guess
Is it just me or Mavuika still fighting with trauma like how traveler see her in Xbalanque duel? The scenes like flashbacks but her steel personality hides it?. And for gnosis, I think if Tharin thought the fatui could take the gnosis, he would have warned Mavuika accordingly or already did and we will learn it later. I have a feeling we're either going to see fried chicken wings or a deal for common cause.

Truly a remarkable character I hope in future people can see the humanly depth Hoyo gave to that Super Saiyan.
I am a bit confused with one thing. In the end of the AQ 5.3, when Mavuika's was going to sacrifice herself to by Natlan more time against potential threats from the Abyss; is that same sacrifice related to the deal made to fufill Ronova's debt? (using her power in the Ode of Resurrection that made everyone un-killable during the war/receiving Archon powers) Did the goals just change or would that have been a 'two bird with one stone' situation?
There's something I'm comfused about... Mavuika was the pyro archon 500 years ago and then ressurected in the present. My question is, who was/were the pyro archon/s in between the time of Mvuika's death 500 years ago and before her ressurection in the present
@crossedchriss they had quite a few between her stints as archon they just dont talk abour them cause in 500 years time that can be like 4 or 5 different people since they are human

Some feel this way to me yes none that I've outright hated or anything but some you try to mash through after awhile cause the story is filling time between patches and isnt the most interesting nor contributes to the main overall story, Just my thoughts tho everyone feels different on it
For me Mavuika's character was a miss. She was too perfect. I would have liked if after defeating the abyss she broke down and bawled crying. Where in that moment of relief every hardwork and sacrifice she made finally caught up to her. For me, that would have made her character more impactful and relatable

If there was a moment where the pressure actually got to her, or she broke, she'd feel like a character who actually developed. That's why Furina's character feels a lot more fleshed out and well-written.

Her struggles are already showed in enough media from Hoyo, also in her duel with xbalanque made us see she has flaws, a traumatic war in her mind still going on and holding her powers back but her personality hides it and tries to overcome. It's already well written, some people just don't want to see a stoic warrior being successful with actually acting like a stoic warrior.

Natlan is the worst nation so far and Mavuika is the least interesting archon so far. Can't wait to leave this boring Disney junk behind and hopefully the new areas and characters look more like they did before.
