      So many of his early cantatas are so intimate like this. They are among THE best works of Bach, bar none.

    26:04 My god, I wasn't expecting that Renaissance cadence.
    Also minute 28:43 reminds me a lot of his BWV 229, maybe he got some inspiration from there.

    Polish test:
    BWV 182
    Królu niebios, bądź pozdrowion
    1. Sonata
    Flauto, Violino concertante, Violino di ripieno, Viola I/II, Violoncello, Continuo
    2. Coro
    Flauto, Violino, Viola I/II, Violoncello, Continuo
    Królu niebios, bądź pozdrowion,
    Zwól nam Twym Syjonem być.
    Wnić, wnić,
    Serca nama przecie wziołeś.
    3. Recitativo B
    Violoncello, Continuo
    Oto idę i jestem gotowy,
    Jako brzmi pismo jasnymi słowy
    Woli Twej dosyć czynić Boże.
    4. Aria B
    Violino, Viola I/II, Continuo
    Moc miłości,
    Ta Cię Synu Bożym wżdyć
    Z tronu, aż wspaniałości Twojej zdjęła.
    By był zbawion onże świat
    Na ofiarę danyś był
    Którąś krwią wypisał własną.
    5. Aria A
    Flauto solo, Continuo
    Złóżcie zbawcy serca kornie,
    Krześcijany zwiecie się.
    Suknię czystą na się kładź
    Na swej wiary z Nim spotkanie.
    Ciało, życie, substancyję
    Wnet królowi swemu święć.
    6. Aria T
    Violoncello, Continuo
    Jezu, zwól w czas dobry, zły,
    Z Tobą zawżdy trzymać.
    Gdy świat woła - krzyżuj go,
    Pierzchnąć mi nie pozwól.
    W Twej chorągwi krzyża Panie
    Palmy najdę i koronę.
    7. Choral
    Flauto, Violino, Viola I/II, Violoncello, Continuo
    Jezu, Twoja pasyja wielką mi ranością.
    Twa korona ran i drwin, serca mi rozkoszą.
    Dusza moja w różach śni, gdy to sobie pomnę.
    Jako w niebie mieśćce wszak
    Przez to nam wżdyć dano.
    8. Coro
    Flauto, Violino, Viola I/II, Violoncello, Continuo
    Tak idźmy więc nuże do Salem radości,
    Dróżbować królowi w miłości i męce.
    On kroczy już w przód, otwiera nam szlak

    • @gerubach
      @gerubach  10 лет назад

      Wow! An original instrument lover. I love them too but sometimes you'll get an aria with a solo oboe da caccia with 'clicking' keys! Almost like an LP lover tolerating pops and crackles. Eventually we get used to it and simply enjoy the music. Thank you for your positive comment. More uploads to come.

    What a pity this recording is a bit boring - like most o the early Harnoncourt recordings. When I first heard that opening sinfonia at Gardiners Bach Pilgrimage this stunning beauty made me cry. But who am I to judge?

    • @hugoclarke3284
      @hugoclarke3284 6 лет назад +1

      Harnoncourt's cantata recordings are more, I don't know, rustic. It sounds closer to what I imagine it would have sounded like in Bach's own time. I understand Gardiner can be more moving, but to call this boring...

    • @Nooticus
      @Nooticus 3 года назад +2

      I dont think this is boring at all! The recordings with the treble boys are the most exciting and emotional for me!

  • @carmennascimento5913

    why is used a flute instead of a recorder at the alto aria ''leget euch der heiland unter''?

    • @gerubach
      @gerubach  10 лет назад +1

      Here is a link that provides Harnoncourt's answer to your question. Go to page 20 under "Notes on the performance":

      For those who don't redirect, this cantata was written for Weimar, where the Duke didn't have transverse flutes in his orchestra (thus the recorders). Bach used the cantata again in Leipzig, and rearranged the alto aria for transverse flute. The lower notes in the score are for the flute. the higher ones for the recorder.
