My same model laptop turn off itself while I'm playing game (dota2), does fan cleaning sufficient to solve the problem? Should I change the thermal paste?
At 3:18 you removed the small square thingy, can it be done with something else? Because I don't have the thing that you have. Thanks in advance for your reply
can anyone help me? i cant remove the back part of my laptop, the one that inside the battery.. it is not the battery but the other thing that prevent me from dissemble the back part of the laptop.. what should i do?
Wouldn't it be easier for a basic cleaning to just block the fan and blow out the dust with a can of compressed air from the top once you've gotten the keyboard off and let it exit through the port where the hot air usually comes out? It seems to me that part is most affected by dust and will produce a lot of heat and excessive noise unless it's cleaned which are the most common complaints regarding laptops ...
Their connectors have locking levers that should be opened and closed for easy disassembly and reassembly. You can grip the blue plastic tabs on the ends of the ribbon cables.
and just so you know im thankful of this vid i just want to know where did i messed up while booting theres red flickering lines and when arriving to my desktop theres red dots everywhere
Hi ! I have a problem, if someone can help me please ? I cleaned my ventilator like you but with a Dry Air Blower but I didn't change the thermal paste. When I assembled the pieces, my laptop didn't run. When I click on the button to start, the LED of alimentation and battery light green but there is no bip and no song of something (I didn't heard the ventilator or the HDD). What can I do ? Is the motherboard which is dead ? Thank you in advance !
Wow we have to get through all those things just to get the fan cleaned? It's been 3 years and I've never disassembled my laptop just to get the internals cleaned. Btw is it just me or is this laptop really have a bad air circulation design? I use an external fan but omg that tiny hole could barely cools down the laptop. I have the K55VD with i3-3120M 2.5GHz @ 6GB paired with 610M @ 2GB. When playing heavy games(GTA 5) it seldom slows down but damn that fan screaming for air really bothers me though...
+Amirul Asyraf Junaidi My thoughts exactly.. My 3 year old K55V has been opened once when I had to replace faulty RAM (that was pretty easy). But I've never openend it further to clean the fan and it's bound to have a crapload of dust in it. Seeing how far you have to disassemble this thing just to get to the fan made me re-think that procedure.. :( I mean: How hard could it be for the designers to include an "access hatch" right over the fan which you could simply open up, take a brush to the fan and close it again? What I ended up doing was using a can of compressed air from the outside to "blow through" the heatsink and some of those tiny "air vents" underneath the laptop. That did produce a lot of dust falling out and temps are somewhat better now - but I'm sure the fan is still dusty as hell. When I play games, the laptop rests on an Enermax Aeolus cooling pad with a huge external fan creating a zone of cool air underneath. Works pretty well (~ 5°C temp reduction on the pad), but I'm still reaching mid 90s (°C) on the GFX card, CPU and MB when playing games.
Karthus84 Yes that's one of the problem actually. It is a low end CPU and GPU and a third generation of Intel CPUs. But at least I could beat the performance of a 3rd generation Core i5 U series and 2nd generation Core i7 M series(in terms of gaming performance). But then again, airflow circulation design is the fault and flaws for the K55V models.
I got mad and punched it, so now the fan is going crazy lol. So need to do this and check if heatsink came loose etc. Should have curbed my anger instead :)

Alwin Foo both cleaning fan and changing thermal paste can help you if problem is in overheating

The 3 connecting wires who are connecting the keybord and the other half, do you have to pull the wire itself or together with the attachment?
