Ginger is generally considered beneficial for digestive health, including conditions like leaky gut. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that may help soothe the digestive tract, reduce inflammation, and support overall gut health. Ginger also promotes the production of digestive enzymes and can improve motility, which helps with digestion.
However, individuals with certain digestive issues, like severe gastritis or acid reflux, might experience discomfort from ginger because of its natural heat and spiciness. There isn't strong evidence to suggest that ginger is harmful to people with leaky gut, but it's always a good idea to listen to your body and consult a healthcare professional if you have concerns.
In moderation, ginger is more likely to support gut healing than harm it.

@@PeevyMctweevy It may sound like 'pseudoscience' to you. It's very simple. If you have gut issues, most people I know my age do, just read his book CAREFULLY and try it. If it works for you, that's the proof. I took it like the skeptic I was. I tried it and this totally works for me. It's not immediate, but the gut misery is over! It is a matter of constantly studying this protocol and being consistent. Thank G-d I feel SO much better and look younger than my 61 years. Thank you Dr. Gundry! 14:45

I have read & researched Gundry’s information. The whole issue of health & autoimmune issues comes down to gut health. As Gundry explains in this video - antibiotics- their overuse - especially in our food supply is breaking down our gut health. I am one of those people who has suffered & been in search of how to fix my health issues my entire adult life. My recent doctor could not understand how I could eat a paleo diet, and have such awesome blood work, & have obesity, high BP, and Hashimotos. She wanted to bang her head against the wall when the fibromyalgia & RA symptoms started. I hurt all the time.
I found Gundry’s book while researching last October. I really can’t eat most lectins. So now Im trying to fix a permeable gut issue- and Gundry is one part of that.
The antibiotics when I was 4 and had tonsillitis for s year prior to my surgery kicked it all off. The older I got & the more antibiotics I took, the worse I got even after learning about probiotics. It’s been 30 years and finally Im starting to see how I got here.
For “healthy “ people they may think Gundry is a quack but for those of us with autoimmune issues.. a God-send!

Is it possible that my keto diet started Jan 1/25 has triggered lectin sensitivity. The day I went into ketosis is the day my sinus blocked. I've been removing foods from my diet one by one and i think it may be the pork. I've also been eating ginger, lemons, aged cheese, brussel sprouts, walnuts, mct and coconut oil. I never had any sensitivities before so this is all new to me. I dont want to quit keto and i dont want to go to my G.P. because he'll just prescribe antibiotics. This has to be keto related somehow.

Tolerance levels can also vary widely from person to person. So, people who have irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, or other GI sensitivities are more likely to experience discomfort after consuming lectins than others.
If a lectin-rich food isn’t properly prepared, it can cause a lot of distress. But that’s true of a lot of other things, too. So, before ruling out lectin-rich foods entirely, I’d suggest examining the preparation methods first and the amount being consumed. Then, try eliminating potentially problematic foods and adding them back one at a time, to see if you can identify which one is causing the distress.

The advice is to avoid lectins. the lectins could be mimicking the things that fire your immune system to attack your body. Then after some time, try testing to see if you are still intolerant of those foods and supplements one at a time.

I've found that independent local labs now have services that allow customers to order their own lab work to be done directly at lab facilities rather than waiting for physicians to order. So, you pay directly to lab you're ordering from in what's called on-demand lab. And instead of doing blood or other lab work on you as a patient, labs welcome you in as a customer having most of the same work done. Call around to locals.

An example to understand the problem:
Raw kidney beans contain high levels of a lectin called phytohaemagglutinin.
If you eat them raw or undercooked, they can cause extreme nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. As few as five beans can cause a response.
A hemagglutinating unit (hau) is a measure of lectin content. In their raw form, red kidney beans contain 20,000-70,000 hau. Once they’re thoroughly cooked, they contain only 200-400 hau, which is considered a safe level .
When properly cooked, red kidney beans are a valuable and nutritious food that shouldn’t be avoided.

“Just like The Plant Paradox, Gundry’s sales pitch has every red flag that ever existed:
A disclosure that foods you previously thought was healthy, are actually not
    Fear-mongering language
A sales pitch for his own supplements
The promise of a big reveal
The illusion that he’s doing us a favor by telling us a special secret that nobody else knows
    Calling ads ‘presentations’ and ‘videos’
An appeal to nature by touting ‘natural’ ingredients in what amount to be useless supplements”

Dr gundry: I’m sure you recommendations are based on your experience with your patients. But how do you avoid the bias that your patients are the “sensitive” pool of people? They came to see you with their issues / concerns. A major population can’t follow the advise because they may not have the issues; Don’t agree?

This is kinda ridiculous. Many of those foods are quite healthy for us, and if you’re gonna cut all of them out then you might as well just eat the carnivore diet. The list of acceptable foods sure is getting short. Maybe why the carnivore diet is so effective.
