  • In my last video where I unboxed a metric boatload of EK Water Blocks items, I talked a bit about the Quantum Torque drain valve, but I wasn't 100% sure how the fitting worked. In this video I'm following up with a demonstration. It's a nifty little fitting that will help any PC enthusiast--novice or veteran--drain their custom liquid cooled PC build.

    Thank you for explaining how this valve works. I'm new to water loops and am about to build my first system. I'm now thinking I might need two drain valves. One for the bottom of the radiator and one for the pump/reservoir. The bottom of my 480mm radiators have a drain port. Ok. Now I might need a total of 3. Two radiator drain ports and a pump reservoir port

I started pulling on the inner bit etc counter clockwise twisting outer grip (it was dark I couldn't tell it was 1 piece). Now hopefully i can refill using the drain, may need to remove a GPU blanking plug to allow air out as I have no reservoir in new setup.

    Will there be a chance of accidentally pulling the plug to the open position when fitting in a tube at the end? Or does it require a significant amount of effort to open the valve?

    • @MiddleofKnowhere
      @MiddleofKnowhere  2 года назад +1

      so the neat thing about the fitting is there is a lock. If you rotate it a bit you won't be able to pull it out or in as there are teeth that more or less prevent it. Think of it like a cog.
