I'm American so I grew up using imperial, but once I started learning how to build a computer I started using metric, I think I prefer metric now over imperial...I hate fractions

Stick to clear coolant, coming from a reasonably newby to watercooling, coloured coolants looked cool af but caused so many unforseen problems

hey....i have the ekwb predator on my 5820k, and now im building a ryzen am4 5600x with the b550 msi gaming edge wifi. i was wondering if it would be easier to buy the am4 velocity block, the am4 classic rgb block or get the ek aio?

    • @EKWBofficial
      @EKWBofficial  3 года назад +1

EK-AIO is an amazing choice if you're looking for easy installation! If you wish to dive into the custom loop, Quantum Velocity block is a great starting point.

I was in pc store for three hours in a foreign country trying to figure this stuff out, probably should have watched this first, but I got 2 quantum vectôˆ2 4090 blocks, a velocityˆ2 nickel block, and other things, very excited for turning my PC into a watercooled PC !

    Interesting video
However there is one downside to hard tubing that is not mentioned and in my opinion should be …
So I use my PC for sound design and music production and have been using water cooling parts from EK and some other brands in my pc using soft tubing
This has never resulted in any issues
A friend of mine who also does sound design and music production has a system with hardline and had some issues with it as some of the connections with hardline started to leak …
My conclusion is that this is probably caused by the vibration coming from the speakers (specially when working on low frequency stuff)
Eventually I took the liberty to replace his hardline tubing with soft tubing and my friend did not have those issues anymore
In my opinion this is a benefit of soft tubing

Your friend probably cut his tubes a bit too short. I've seen this happen before and yes vibrations can move the pipe slightly...but you need to cut them so that the pipe goes 2mm into each fitting on the ends before you start screwing it down. You get used to the lengths needed after you e cut them a few times.

Interesting situation, but I wouldn't be so sure it has anything to do with soft vs hard tubing in an audio engineering setup. - I also do sound editing and havent had any trouble in 3 years with my hard tubing. Glad your friend's PC stopped leaking when you changed out the tubes though!

Good Video! I was just hoping that it would educate about how to choose a fitting when you're ordering your loop components and don't know how many of each type to order...like me! EK's Loop Configurator can get you started, but doesn't automatically include offsets, extenders, or plugs (how can it when it doesn't know HOW you want to arrange your tubes? Well, if you are using one of EK's distro plates and opt for either prebent tubing or straight tubing, it should be able to determine how many of each extender you need due to their matrix7 standard - but it doesn't, so i was hoping to get that info here).

There are infinite ways to set-up a loop, so it requires some planning. Only with experience will you know to better what you will need.

@@TheEchelon Good answer bro, really helpful insightful info. Just build 15 water cooled PC's, and by the time you're on the 16th, you'll just know what offsets to get

does anybody know if hard metal tubing is beneficial for determining leaks? I don’t know much but I feel like it would be harder to spot a leak on clear tubing compared to carbon fiber tubing

The best way to check for leaks is with the EK-Leak Tester Flex 💪: www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-loop-leak-tester-flex

PETG, Acrylic or PMMA are generally more reliable than hard metal due to corrosion although it is more sturdy. You can opt out for opaque-hard tubing if you don't want transparent tubes. If you're concerned about leaks, you better prepare for maintenance and leak test for the best safety. Either way, you won't be fast enough to catch leaks even if you went with other types of hard tubing so you're better off constantly leak testing with transparent PETG or Acrylic tubing. Maintenance is a must at the end of the day.

Increasing the inner diameter of a pipe will increase it's flow rate, even if it has to go though a few smaller fittings along the way. What this guy says is wrong.
