My biggest disagreement would be with the Flint-knock. The gun isn't overrated at all. The sheer mobility the gun provides is insane, and that's what most people used it for. People knew that otherwise, the gun was mid at best. I don't remember many people claiming it was ever the best, but the most fun. For me, people were always hailing the hand cannon as the best pistol (that is, before the tactical pistol and mammoth pistol were things in the game)
Also, I feel like it's unfair to just view the nerfed weapons that came back as overrated. Especially the heavy sniper. When it came back nerfed, people were shocked at how mid it was. Once again, this is just my experience, and to be fair, I still haven't checked the community post yet.

@@ahaha272 Well, yes, but we aren't considering the gun in this meta. At the time when it was first added, items like flowberry fizz, Nitro fists, and mechanics like mantling, sliding, tactical sprint. and vaulting didn't exist. Also, cars didn't exist either. Yes, you had balls, but those had almost no health. (Yet they were still super annoying. Considering this chapter, most of the "average" guns from chapters 1-4 would be much better because they are hitscan.

the fact the Pump Shotgun, SEVERAL TIMES, has had people striking the game for it to return when Epic just wanted to innovate a bit is so annoying. I love the gun, but I wish people would stop glazing tf out of it. Havoc Pump and arguably most shotguns from C5 are better than it guys.

Yes, but strong doesnt equal more fun. The pump had the best design, the best pullout animation (i guess the havoc has the same, but still), it had the best sound and was just more satysfying. A weapon being stronger is not a good reason for it replacing another weapon.

The hammer AR is good if you can control the horizontal recoil. Same with this seasons Harbinger SMG, but they can be pretty useful when you learn them.
The Hammer AR is just like the hand cannon. If you’re a pro with your aim or mechanics it is godly. If you’re not it just doesn’t hit that hard

Impulses are massively overrated too. Shocks are so much better. People just feed into the nostalgia and go off about how good the impulses and revolvers and what nots were when they really wouldn’t survive today.
They can kill by fall damage though

The pump and the scar were just the best guns in the game at the time, that’s why it was so loved. The havoc and some special ARs are much better but from the nostalgia from winning with them keeps them highly rated.
They also were debatabley the best at what they did for ages, one shot gun with five shots and the scar doing as much damage as it did with its accuracy and fire rate was broken. I don't know much about the guns from season three and four tho
The Standard AR hasn't really changed much, I think we were just so used to actually accurate weapons that, we forgot how the bloom is. Because realistically, it didn't really change at all. Even In Creative now it feels like how it always been.
As a flintknock user in creative pit (gold omegarok if anyone has come across me) I can confirm the mammoth pistol is better because it has a faster reload and does more damage, but that’s also because it’s a legendary version, if the flintknock had one it would be insane. I use the flintknock because when play on Xbox cloud (iOS) it’s not exactly accurate with what *im* doing, so if I miss my shot I at least get some distance between me and the enemy, or I send them flying away if we’re high up. However if you are a extremely good player with extremely good aim I’d have to say the flintknock is better than the mammoth pistol because you can use the flintknock for mobility. And 180 for a headshot is pretty lethal even if you’re high up in the air, sometimes even I’ll turn around and when they edit the wall I fire so I fly inside their box and past them and then kill them with a shot gun. You can’t do that with a mammoth pistol.
The newest version of the heavy sniper also does like 600 damage to vehicles which would be awesome to use this season

My pick would be the Zapatron. People talk about it like it was the God Gun but there’s like 3 real clips of people using it. Even then, not like many people actually used it to begin with, it was in the game for a few minutes before it was removed. Why hold a weapon to such a high regard when almost no one even got to REALLY see it in action?

It really doesnt have typical "horizontal recoil" - with the Hammer AR you'd pull down and slightly to the left... so its not straight down like most vertical recoil guns but its also not really horizontal recoil either. Hope that makes sense

hard disagree on the flint-knock. nobody ever claims it's a good weapon, they always talk about the mobility. having mobility in this game is unbelievably important that if a single weapon can provide near infinite mobility, that weapon has to be one of the best weapons in the game. you never use the flint-knock to actually shoot someone, unless you're trying to meme.
i also disagree with the boogie bomb, too. it's not that hard to only hit your opponent, it's a *hard* counter to any vehicle, and if you're not carrying a shotgun, then honestly, why are you even playing this game.

The flint-knock is an awful *gun.* the reason i don’t think it’s overrated is because it’s a high-tier mobility item, and while I do believe better mobility exists like the shockwave hammer, kinetic blade, grapple blade and nitro fists, it’s still a great item to have, something i’d legitimately take over most other mobility items.
Again, most people don’t use the flint-knock for damage, they use it to move around, unless they’re trying to meme.
What made the Hammer AR so good was its minimal spread when hip fired combined with a decent fire rate, it made it a fantastic AR for close range or doubling as an SMG with something like the Prime or Ranger shotguns.
The other thing you may not have noticed is the Hammer AR first-shot accuracy resets super super fast, making it extremely good when tap firing at long range, like Red-Eye level of good, and its only a third person gun.
So basically the super fast first shot accuracy, and its ability to double really well as an SMG / follow up weapon is what makes people love this AR so much. You should really revisit the Hammer AR and pay attention to how quickly the reticle resets when tap firing at long range, its among the best we've ever had in the game.
Not sure If you’ve talked about the Charge Shotgun yet but if you haven’t yet you should. That’s been my favorite Gun in the entire game for years. I don’t think it deserves the hate it gets.
For some odd reason I was always so good with it, and no, it’s not because it’s really strong and all that. The charge is a much more sophisticated gun that few people have looked into.
Flint knock is my favorite gun in Fortnite. It’s so fun to use and it always saves me a utility spot because I don’t have to carry shockwaves with it lol
The Heavy Sniper when it first launch was just... the best weapon in the game man, 157 damage (the legendary), it would break ANYTHING with 1 shot, the bullet travel was faster...

You said it's better, but I really think the mammoth pistol and deagle are much more overrated than the flint knock. I just don't really like the 3rd person pistols, but the flint knock provides mobility and has been easier for me to hit shots. Absolutely agree with hammer too.

The thing about the pump shotgun is that, while it is consistent, it feels bland and very slightly underpowered (by a very small margin). I’ve personally never liked it, and I’ve always preferred the other options. I like the havoc, the tac, the old combat, and gatekeeper. My favorite is the double barrel, because there’s a degree of skill required to use it, but when you get it down you do an insane amount of damage. The off putting part for lots of people is it’s horrendous pellet spread, which forces you into incredibly tight conditions. I love it dearly, why? Because it’s different and actually fun. The pump isn’t really fun, it’s ol’ reliable that you take out when you don’t have any real idea in what you specifically want to use. It’ll get the job done, but (imo) there are better, and funner, options.

I agreed with a lot of your picks, but I’m gonna have to disagree with the hammer assault rifle. Hammer assault rifle is arguably one of the best assault rifles added and it 100% deserves love and praise!
It's pretty mid at best. It wasn't bad by any means, it was just heavily outshadowed by the striker burst and ESPECIALLY the MK-Seven.

so in a build fight you could knock someone of their tower to their death
Nice vid, but I have to disagree with the Boogie Bomb. At least for this season, it is a must-have for fighting people in cars. The bigger car hitbox means that you don't even have to be exact. Combined with Nitro Fists, you can simulate a dancing air strike, forcing the driver to either get out or risk getting hit by the Boogie Bomb and potentially dying on the spot. Hell, if you don't want to engage with the player, you can just yoink their car and they can't do anything about it.
It's even more busted in Zero Build, since no one can build, making it strong against players too.

The damage falloff is slightly better with the pump but only between 1.2 and 2 tiles
so, why are a lot of players still picking the pump

The good thing that the flint knock has over the mammoth is that the bullet is a massive projectile based. This makes medium to close range shots much easier and less of a chance to botch
The explosive repeater, if you use it from close range you can hit yourself and its does like 80 damage on legendary and it was like an explosive that hits everyone in the area but its not like everyone is standing next to each other
The scar never changed. What happened is we got accurate ars and we started to notice the bloom

With the pump, I think the OG version is the greatest shotgun, same with the OG scar with the 98 headshot damage, fortunately I was lucky enough to be playing back then to experience those guns but I know a lot of people who haven't used the pump and the scar In their original form

HAHA!! You OGs from chapters 1 and 2 are so blinded by nostalgia. LOL. The current loot pool with weapons modifications is super balanced and fun. It represents consistency and fun competitive gameplay. I started in chapter 3 season 3. Only stopped during OG season because the loot and map landscape was disgusting. You’d probably say that the unreal engine is bad and chapter 1 had better graphics and art style. LOL BOOMER!!

I love this season and the new graphics are amazing, I've taken a couple breaks throughout the game mainly from CH4 s2 to Fortnite OG and I didn't play the end of CH3 but I like where the game is heading I know alot of people are blinded by nostalgia but people don't realize how much mechanics like sprinting or mantling have changed the game positively, it feels weird not having certain mechanics even though back then we didn't have them!

The people saying the OG pump was overrated have lost their mind. It is not the pump we currently have that does 185, not even the version that did 200. It did 237 on headshots. And it could double pump, but that wouldn't really matter nowadays because of boxfighting.
If the pump was in the game as it was then, today, people would be calling for a nerf. The only contender for the pump's throne (In builds) is the Havoc. I don't care how fast your shotgun fires, nothing will outdamage an instant-kill. And in a build fight you can usually not get many shots off at a time anyway.
Something to note about the Scar vs Hammer AR and why people love the later is the damage drop off at 80m. At purple rarity the Scar starts at 36 and drops to 22 with a 5.5 fire rate, while hammer starts at 32 and drops to 28 with a 5.8 fire rate.
It means that with the Scar it'll be 10 shots to take out a 200 health oponent at range vs 8 shots with the Hammer, plus the hammer is a bit faster at it too.
It just helps explain the cult following you mentioned as the Hammer does perform much better than the Scar at range, if you can manage that recoil.
The flint knock isn’t overrated it takes a ton of skill to master it.
Pump Shotgun: it was meta for almost all of C1 especially at the end, C2 it was also meta with the only Shotgun coming close was the Tactical for C2S1-2 (which a gold Pump easily beat it) and the Primal Shotgun (until they nerfed it into the ground), even now it does 128-185 (x1.85 headshot) making it still an insane shotgun, not overrated when it’s always meta (though lower rarities now are bad, especially to the Havoc)
Assault Rifle: it really is just bloom, if it got a bloom buff and a reload revert it would be perfect
Flint-Knock: to compare purple pistols to a grey one does it unjust, which even then it’s still an amazing pistol because of the double pump potential, yes at range it sucks but it was never suppose to be a ranged revolver type weapon it’s suppose to be a close up one which even for a green it does fairly amazing at, especially when it doesnt have the 0.5 equip speed like the Revolver and Hand Cannon
Heavy Sniper: After the Sniper Update i can 100% see that it needs a buff, though i also think other snipers need a nerf like the Hunter-Bolt, Bolt-Action, etc., Heavy Weapons are suppose to be high damage weapons so focusing on base damage means having structure damage as high as it was makes it meta again, me personally i was thinking Bolt-Action goes back to 95/100/105/110/116 and the Heavy becomes 112/118/124/130/136, a 20 damage difference for a 1 second reload difference would make more sense
Hammer AR: it’s definately a skill issue (respectfully), athough it only needs a few changes, due to its recoil not being harsh enough it was abused for its super accurate accuracy especially Hip-Fire, yes it had 20 shots but it’s not as much of a difference when it’s an AR and the 3 damage difference while yes hurts it conpared to the Scar but it’s so consistent that it makes it that much better, it was also meta in C3S3-4 even with all the different ARs (especially Evochrome)
Boogie Bomb: C2S4, that’s all I have to say, maybe in build pubs it isnt good because piece control isnt as common but even in C2S4 it dominated and it didnt help when there were 100-200 pumps at purple, i think it needs a nerf but not a severe one where it isnt itself anymore
a lil fun fact about the heavy sniper: Its bullet travels slower than the bolt-action's one, by a small amount, but noticable.

Hammer AR slander will not be tolerated. Jokes aside I respect your opinion of it. However I just think the recoil isn't that hard to control in my honest opinion. I view it as what I'd like the SCAR to be since it has good DPS and great accuracy plus is very versatile. I will admit the mag size can be an issue and I find the fact the Gold one does 33 and not 34 damage a little annoying but it's overall very solid and so much better than the SCAR.

I like using the flint-knock as a double pump. I use my shotgun then switch to my flint-knock, it’s really good honestly and if you run out of mobility use the flint-knock, it’s not overrated in my opinion
The pump at the max rarity does 185 in the head,against the gatekeeper who at legendary does like 90 and can fastly shoot other 2 shots that easily kill the enemy, and the havoc in the head (almost) does the damage of a hunting rifle
Boogie bomb in zero build new season is OP! You can have the boss car and all mythics, but I’ll throw a boogie and shotgun and it’s over, it pretty much nerfs car as just mobility instead of a viable weapon
The flint knock main use for me was combining, knock em in the air, shotgun em, its that simple. It usually kills with just that combo and because of stun locking mechanics its really hard to counter, its not overated, its severely underated and misused, the mamath is better for range sure, but the flink knock was never ranged, it was always a combo tool, and still the best pistol in my opinion
I side with you on most of these actually. The only one I can't agree with is Boogie Bombs, and I firmly believe they are extremely overpowered. Sure you have to make sure you don't hit yourself, but it has a solid blast radius and if you hit the target, anybody with a functioning IQ is winning that fight from that point and there basically is nothing the target can do accept run or hop around corners to minimize the shotgun damage they're about to eat. The Hammer AR I also find to be very good but not Scar good, but in my experience the recoil is more of a Northeast diagonal pattern, so up and to the right, and I hit my shots fine most of the time
As of today, the pump shotgun sounds like an air soft gun, it’s also useless when the gatekeeper shotgun exists.

Ok first point I disagree with, the flint knock. The flint knock is not meant to be a damage dealing weapon, its meant more for mobility. If epic games made it so the flint knock had first shot accuracy along with all the movement u get from it the weapon would be busted. Also hitting crazy movement clips with the flint on kids is way too fun. Second point, your right boogies arent good, they are COMPLETELY busted af, (at least in comp). If you actually know what you are doing with them you can pretty much turn any fight on its head. You can also completely disengage from any fight using them too. Sure there is a bit of skill learning how to properly use them so that u dont hit yourself but once u get past that they r crazy.

The Tactical Shotgun is not better than the Pump lmao. Literally no one carried it after it got overnerfed in Chapter 2 because why would you if you could just hit an easy 100+ to the body with the far more precise Pump?
The Hammer Pump is the most balanced Pump Shotgun we have ever had.
The pump shotgun is a good weapon and the centre of many (similar) metas, but at the same time I've always felt like it's been insanely overcentralising in every loot pool (especially after they added the epic/legendary versions), and I do think the community's obsession with it kinda blinds them to that fact. Probably given half the reason the pump is so good is because of how it synergises with building and editing. Though I think the many flavours of pump alternative have been a nice compromise.

It has the same range as the regular pump 1792, it fires at a 0.75 fire rate, the pump fires at a 0.70 fire rate, versus the one in creative it has like 190 headshot which is way more, it's got a tighter spread, etc.

Hot take: I think both the MK7 Assault rifle and the Prime Shotgun are the most overrated Fortnite Weapons.

The only time i’ve ever seen people say it’s bad is if they were a controller player who couldn’t control the recoil as easily as a MKB player can.

Hammer was the best ar of it's season. Correct me if I'm wrong but before vibin we had hammer in game but noone would pick it up over mk7. It was the lack of other good ars that made hammer good that season. I liked the hipfire accuracy and if you tapfired it was nice at long ranges too.
I wouldn’t say the Flintknock is overrated, its about the most overrated items after all and Flintknock, even if not that good for actual fights, is still a great versatility weapon, especially cause of the mobility and fall damage meditation. Its well rated Imo, and I see other people have a similar opinion too
the pump shotgun we got past chapter 2 isnt even the same actual pump, the chapter 1 pump had different stats and texture, and could do 220+ damage
Like if you use a shotgun with a flint knock, it can be really useful. My combo is blue pump and flint knock, its just do one pump shot and immediately do flintknock,its like a double pump however the sane thing doesn’t happen with the mammoth pistol, so I’d say that flint knock can be used as a damage dealing weapon with a shotgun and if you get lucky, you can have a 180 headshot by the flintknock
I don’t feel the recoil on the hammer when I use it. Maybe I can’t recognize the recoil but it one of the better guns in reload mode.

(I havent watched the full video dont yell at me and abuse me and torture me) the pump shotgun is good but its absolutely not in its prime anymore, and id say some of the chapter 4 shotguns are better or equally good(thunder shotgun is equal, havoc is better and lowkey overpowered). i think the reason why everybody wants the pump back is just because of how familiar it is, not bc of its actual stats. its a good shotgun tho
edit: watched the full video, i think the heavy sniper also has the same treatment of the pump, but the pump is still good and the heavy is way out of its prime, or at least not as good just like he says in the video, but i dont think its a bad sniper and its still onw of the better ones. the hammer ar is good and not good. its recoil is crazy and hard to control, but at the same time it fires like an smg and does enough damage, so its good and bad. the flintlock is kind of really horribly bad and terrible, you cant hit shots with it unless ur less than an inch away from someone, and its really only good for stopping fall damage. at the end of the day, we all hope half the guns talked about in the video dont come back with bullet drop.

Minus the flint lock, this video is very agreeable. Only thing I have to debate about the flint is that I would use it as a sudo shotgun that would let me climb up to areas that normal walking and jumping can’t. The neglecting fall damage was always an afterthought to me atleast.

I agree with almost all of them except the Hammer and the Flint-knock but the one I agree with you the most is the Heavy Sniper almost all my friends and even my brother say it’s the second best sniper only the reaper is a bit better!

I don't think anyone says the flint knock is the best because of the damage, its just a really good utility. Also the exotic flint knock was really good for damage
Havoc pump is extremely underated it can one shot someone in zero build with max overshield
Btw the best pistol is the mythic hand cannon from this season, having damages comperable to the mammoth pistol and has more rounds

I respectfully disagree with your take on the hammer. I play kbm so that could be a factor, I didn’t like it at first bc of the AUG being in the game when it first ended up in the game and i preferred the chrome burst the following season but looking back the hammer is in my opinion the best third person ar for the good fire rate and low bloom and recoil

I played csgo a lot before fortnite so recoil doesn't rly do anything to me, and the hammer ar is my favorite weapon of all time, barely any bloom and good damage and good range, but I see where you are coming from with the horizontal recoil, if you've never played high recoil games like r6 or csgo then I get that you can't control it (skill issue)

With the pump it holds its place over others due to the issues the other shotguns have. The havoc for example, does more damage but is less consistant with hitting those shots. The thunder uses 2 bullets, the striker was mid, and the hammer does less damage. Its definitely overrated with people complaining the game sucks without it, but because the gun has no inherent flaws. Pump deserves it place but people need to learn to try new things
All variants of the pump shotgun are inconsistent, but people just tend to act like the pump isn't cuz it's the "original".
@@murpsanddurps3810All of them are relatively consistent but the pump is generally one of the most consistent among both casual and competitive. If you hit shots with the havoc you'll obviously be better of with it and the thunder is arguably more consistent than the pump so it's mostly preference.
