    Congratulations I liked it! How many strings is your lyre? What scale is it tuned to?

    • @SEIKILO
      @SEIKILO  3 года назад +1

      Hi, Kent, and thank you for your positive vibes. This particular lyre has 7 strings, and it is tuned from G to F (G A B C D E F). Actually, all the full year studies at LyreAcademy.com are designed to meet that specific tuning (Lina will soon explain to us why is that in a video to come).
      As for the ancient lyre, you can find a variety of premium instruments with different number of strings at luthieros.com/

      Hi Aristos. That particular lyre is a custom order, but it shares the same soundbox, soundboard, and length of the vibrating strings with LUTHIEROS Lyre of Hermes: luthieros.com/product/the-lyre-of-hermes-ancient-greek-lyre-chelys/
      If you are interested for that particular model, get in touch with Theodore from #Luthieros team to guide you through: luthieros.com/contact/

      @@SEIKILO How much would is cost to get a custom built Mesopotamia Lyre. I’m deeply interested in the culture and play a lyre already so a Mesopotamian lyre seems to be the next big step into exploring the music of the time and playing it for myself.

      @@caldoesstuff7290 Dear Cal, get in touch with LUTHIEROS family, at info@luthieros.com, to help you through. Their reconstructed lyres are quite impressive, and have already built a Mesopotamian one in the past. They are a great combination of luthiers and musicians, with a deep respect for their art and, even more, their customers. :)

    how to do the harmonics? impossible on my kithara

    • @SEIKILO
      @SEIKILO  3 года назад

      Hi, Attila. Every string instrument can “play” harmonics, no matter if it is a lyre or not, no matter if it is a high or low quality instrument. It is a very advanced technique though, that it takes time and persistence to master it. The general rule is to slightly touch the string at the exact point, for example at the middle of the string, and then pluck it with the other hand. If it is not at the exact point, then you will not be able to produce a note.
      We will let our affiliate musicians know about your request and see if we can prepare a quick video about the basics of the harmonics.
      What’s more, we can ask our friend at LyreAcademy.com too if they can prepare a course specifically for this technique.
      Until then, you can check these two courses on their website:
      - Harmonics for beginners, there are some lessons in course 102: lyreacademy.com/lyre-playing-with-both-hands-lyre-102/
      - Harmonics for advanced players, there are some lessons in course 303: lyreacademy.com/master-various-playing-techniques-lyre-303/
      Have in mind that these are part of a full year’s study, so it is advisable to follow the academy’s courses in the order seen here: lyreacademy.com/choose-your-next-course/
      Wish you the best in your journey to master your ancient kithara playing. It is an amazing instrument, full of potentials, and ideal even for professional musicians! :)
