    If someone is interested, those are the correct codes for the D4D version (some codes are different because 5th gear has 41 teeth, the petrol version has 40 teeth)
    HUB: 33393-42010
    GEAR, 5TH: 33336-42020
    SLEEVE: 33395-42012

      Thank you so much! What would happen if one would to put a 40 teeth gear on a diesel?

    • @maxc7930
      @maxc7930 2 года назад +1

      @@ilijaivancevic454 I'm not sure. In the best case it would slightly change the gear ratio, in the worst it could damage the gearbox. Honestly I'd just stick to the 41 teeth gear. Edit: it also could just not fit at all

    Needing this replaced in my 2001 Rav4. God, I love this car 274,540 miles! I don't want to junk her after all I've done to save her! So reliable! I was lucky to find the fuse box next to the battery. If not for that would have to junk since that part can no longer be purchased from any dealer. Parts are getting rare but also rare to find in a salvage or junk yard!

    Appreciate you taking the time to make a video while doing the repair. On my 2005 my 5th gear is not popping out. However the shifter is vibrating between like 65 mph and 80 mph then it will clear up. Is this what you were experiencing prior to it starting to pop out of gear? I am able to hold the shifter and the vibration inside the car is no longer audible until I release it. I would like to correct the vibration issue, it becomes a nuisance at times.

      You could replace just the needle bearing and good chance it's going to fix that vibration issue.

    I was installing the cage and synchros by turning a 12M 1.5 bolt and pushing it on down the spindle. But the spindle would turn before the cage seated all the way. Can you or someone here describe how to hold the spindle and gears while installing the cage and sychros? Thanks.

      In my video, I'm pointing at the clip going inside the holes in the hub cage. If you make sure these are aligned, the parts should go toguetter. It can only go one way.

      @@xyzDJzyx I'm struggling to see how those 2 brass clips go in my syncro cage to hold it all together. Did you just figure it out yourself or is there an explanation on the web somewhere?

      @@saleembarmania5295 what really help me figured it out is two understand which clip belong to the hub. Find the correct one that match the holes in the hub and that's the first step then the reste should be smooth. Watch from 5:15 at 0,25x maybe that helps.

    Hi, in others chats inform that the problem come back again after 10.000 km. Can you tell us if this problem has been repeated in your case? How many km have you done since the repair?

    • @xyzDJzyx
      @xyzDJzyx  2 года назад +2

      it's been about 25 000km and it is still working fine.

    • @xyzDJzyx
      @xyzDJzyx  10 месяцев назад

      Update: after about 50 000km it's started vibrating again (not popping). I just replaced the needle bearing and it's perfect. First time filling it up, I filled until couple drops were coming out of the filling hole. Second time I filled it up until there is a decent drizzle dripping out. I heard they very sensitive to low oil level and 5th is the first to suffer from the lack of oil.
