- After the blockbuster ending for Power Book 2 Ghost Season 3 where we saw everyone close to Tariq st Patrick including Cane Tejada and the rest of the Tejada's and Effie betray him and switch over to Noma's side, he finds himself battling to re-build for Ghost Season 4.
In this breakdown I run through an in depth analysis of Cane Tejada, his evolution across Power Ghost Season 1, 2 and 3 and how Mecca played a huge role in Cane's development in Ghost. I also run through some theories in the lead up to Ghost Season 4 Episode 1 and where we are with Cane's character in terms of his relationships with Effie, the betrayal from Dru and Diana, his relationship with Brayden and also Tariq St Patrick along with a potential plot twist.

It’s funny because Dru, Cane, and Diana all blamed Tariq but in reality he’s the only one who kept his word to their family. The tejadas will be their own downfall.
Dru and Diana didn’t blame Tariq they just used him as the fall guy if their plan to kill Monet backfired.

Using Tariq to explain Ghost actions and why he was the way he was. Some saw Ghost as selfish but don't take in to consideration what made him that way. Season 1 when Ghost started expressing himself to Tasha and Tommy based on how they respond he became more closed off. To sum it up Ghost had everyones best interest at heart event though they couldn't see it. Because of that they hated him but needed him at the same time.

I’ve always believed since Season 1 that if Cane and Tariq could ever align and come together on some level, they’d be a force to be reckoned with. Tariq’s strategic, cerebral personality combined with Cane’s brute force and muscle. It’s inevitable in Season 4 that Cane is going to discover the truth about how Diana and Dru betrayed the family by choosing to kill Monet, I’m interested to see how Cane would react to this once he discovers the truth and is there any possibility of Cane and Tariq allying with one another….

Mecca definitely should’ve lived more longer. He had so much potential. Rats don’t last long in Power and characters easily get wasted. He could’ve been a government plant and had Tariq, Brayden, Cane, Dru, Diana, and Effie working for him. Mecca could have taught Tariq how to squabble. Mecca vs Lorenzo and Dru would have made a good storyline.
They dropped the ball ridiculously on Mecca for no reason, they need to start focusing on long term story telling .

I still can't believe they dropped the ball on both Lorenzo and Mecca but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Cane finds out in ep 2 that it wasn't Tariq and begins to plan to take out Dru but not diana for 2 potential reasons, 1. Diana actually could be pregnant with Tariq's baby or even Salim's 2. Cane would only see Dru as a threat to being the leader of the Tejadas.
Nah I don't think it's that simple cause you know Lorenzo's #1 code was "Family First" and as Lorenzo Tejada Jr. Cane feels as though he has to live by that too. But Monet being his Mom and being a mama's boy and also being the oldest sibling. It's gonna really break him in a way.
Cane's the goat of Book 2. Hopefully he's around for a long time.

After Cane framed Tariq for killing Ramirez and Tariq went to jail, HE DID NOTHING. I remember Courtney Kemp stating that a couple of the main characters in Book 2 were based off the Godfather series. I think the watches in the story are also paying homage to the Godfather with the references/obsessions to oranges that are seen throughout the Godfather series.

Great recap @Moviebot! I love the growth in Cane's Character and I see him eventually taking Dru out when he finds out that him and Diana set Monet up. He will think it's Riq at 1st but will realize it's not when he puts the puzzle together. Dru dies this season for sure. I still see Braden killing Cane at some point though. Effie will cut Cane off this season as well and Cane will take a downward spiral. They definitely wasted Mecca's character as i have always said. They should have killed Lorenzo first because he was useless once he got released from Prison. When this show is in its final season I see Diana as the only Tejada left.

Cane should’ve took the Kanan route and start up his own organization. Break away from the family but still be all about family. But he wanted to show Lorenzo and Monet he’s what they need for the family organization. But in competition with dru for the top spot. And too focused on Tariq. I think the story’s going to flip in s4. Brayden will eventually snap if cane continues his bullshit.

Honestly I feel like the biggest twist would be if cane and Tariq working together Tariq is like ghost and cane is like Tommy in a way family first, wild at first but had a character development, ruthless, feared/respected in the streets . Ever since season 1 ghost I always thought if cane and Tariq could just get along they would be a great duo and in power idk always expect the unexpected now we could see them join forces but depends on how the writers want to go with their characters

Funnily enough I was just having this conversation with a friend of mine in regards to RSJ. I do think there's a story that we don't know about. He's a billionaire and said he wasn't proud of things he's done in the past. I definitely think he was in the game/still in the game. I think he'll play some sort of role next season for sure. Same goes with Simon Stern. Those are two strong players that can't be overlooked.

Out of all the Power shows raising kanan is the best one. This show ghost is tedious and redundant to say the least and so is force.
I think Cane might switch sides with Tariq and Brayden once he finds out about Dru and Diana's betrayal in getting Monet shot up. I also think they saving his character for the final season and then killing him off.
The timeline Lorenzo was in prison fits into the timeline that ghost took over from Kanan and sent him to prison…what if Monet Struck a deal with Ghost to take Lorenzo off the board and she takes over…it wouldn’t be much of a stretch since he was running Queens at the time
And maybe he’s the one that killed big guap trying to hit Lorenzo and so with Guap out the picture Monet had a clear path into the throne
