Building Back Stronger: IOM’s One-Room Shelter Programme

IOM Pakistan is assisting vulnerable households in D.I. Khan that have been affected by floods, particularly those whose houses were completely destroyed, by focusing on rebuilding resilient and flood-resistant housing called "one-room shelters" (ORS). With support from UK Aid, IOM Pakistan has constructed 500 one-room shelters (ORS) and latrines for those whose houses were completely destroyed by the floods.
Additionally, for those whose homes were partially destroyed, IOM Pakistan provided shelter repair support. This assistance included the distribution of shelter repair tool kits, solar kits, cash, and technical guidance to more than 1200 families in D.I Khan.
