    Explained beautifully. The intermediate steps of the action was never known to me. I think this is ELECTROPHILIc SUBSTITUTION 2 in case of DIBAl-H. Wheras in others it is SN1

    Great stuff, Professor Dave. Question: Some of the reagents you've covered in this series have specific and fascinating properties, but how are these reagents, like DIBAL-H, manufactured in the first place? Going directly from an ester to an aldehyde is useful, but - as they say - is the juice worth the squeeze if DIBAL-H is expensive to manufacture, store and distribute? Always curious about the practical. Thanks, again!

      @@PunmasterSTP I took it last year and scored 95.28 percentile, which didn't give me any good college. So I'm giving it this year as well in hopes of securing something above 99.

      @@ahwabanmukherjee5065 I live in the US so I’m rather unfamiliar with the JEE, but I’d imaging that getting in the 95% would be extremely good. Is the cutoff for getting into a good college really higher than that!?

      @@PunmasterSTP the rank for 95%ile was 42,768 whereas the minimum rank required for a good college is like 20,000. Difficulties of living in a country with such a large population🙂
