Nice to see nicely-dressed folks singing and dancing - you can understand the words ! Good entertainment from an era where things were classy and fun. Thanks.

My mom collected S&H green stamps. Still remember her licking those stamps and placing them in a booklet.

Good stuff from a bygone era when weekly television shows offered entertainment. Politics was put on the back burner and entertainers did what they did best, entertain. Thanks for posting. Dinah Shore was as big as any of them come. Her guests are now considered legends of the entertainment industry. We have nothing in the 21st century to equal them now. They're all ( today's so called entertainers) second and third class stringers at best. Yesteryear's entertainers respected their audiences and worked to win their approval and admiration. Today's nickel rockets are just what they are, a flash in the pan. Worthless.

George Burns, "This is show business," as he exits the stage with Dinah Shore and Ginger Rogers. Damn. I said, "That is professional show business" the time my wife and I saw Peter Allen at Radio City Music Hall in NYC in the mid 1980s. The same feeling. Wit, singing, dancing, laughing at yourselves. Magic. Thank you for posting!

The Alice Loves Algernon quartet by Nat, Ginger, Dinah, and George was absolutely perfect. Entertainment and talent were on a whole different level in the old days. Irreplaceable legends, each and every one of them.

did anyone notice the rapping Dinah and the gang did for that milk ad? Go to 40:20.....I was blown away, but rap has been around, they just didn't have a name for it in '60/'61

😂Dinah was about 20 years ahead here in that commercial before the first official “Rappers” such as SugarHill Gang, Kurtis Blow and Debbie Harry of the Rock Group Blondie. Go Miss D lol. 😂 Way ahead of her time.

My favorite Dinah Shore number will always be "Why don't you believe me" that was sung in the 40's musical "Till the clouds roll by". Nat King Cole with his velvet voice was the King for many years with numerous toppers over the years. "My personal possession" was my top fave followed by Night of the quarter moon, Again, Too Young and To whom it may concern.

What did NBC do on New Year's Eve in this era?
Did Jack Paar do New Year's?

Probably not that year, as it fell on a Sunday in 1961.

This should be on video tape not on some grainy awful kinescope.
When this was broadcast it was crystal clear and in color,
excellent perfect picture quality when it was originally broadcast.
