Honestly I was shocked by the tiny size of the deck when I removed the book from the big box. They really need to make these cards larger so that the intricate details of the artwork can be properly appreciated.
Zerner / Farber Tarot is my favourite tarot deck...I have the original deck...and I love the smaller size cards. I also have the 25th edition of The Enchanted Tarot...and also the App on my phone and on my iPad...I'm a big fan of Amy and Monte. Thank you Simon for showing this new version of the Zerner-Farber deck. 😊❤
I don't know if I'd be able to see the artwork. My eyes aren't the best even with me spekkies. I'm glad they did the new type of guilding on them. Gorgeous deck! ❤
Ooooh I loved this walkthrough Simon, very informative. I was just deliberating on which edition to hunt down, so thank you very much for helping to narrow it down!
@@the_hermits_cave ah, right, I forgot to say. I’m going to go with the newest, midsize edition. I like the title plaques, the matte finish, and I also like the color saturation and temperatures.
Thank you Simon for this video! I too have the ginormous 25th edition version of the deck and am so happy to know that it comes in a more manageable size now ! Thanks for doing this comparison 🌻
Yes it’s beautiful. I had just decided to order the 25th anniversary deck when I saw this one on amazon. As I have small hands it’s actually great to find a pack of tarot cards that I can shuffle easily. I didn’t rate the inside of box too much...nothing to firmly hold the cards in place. Plus the box had become slightly damaged in transit. But overall I’m really pleased and thank you for your always informative talk through.
I love love love AZ and MF's artwork and writing! Thank you for comparing editions🙏 I agree with you on the missed opportunity...who knows, maybe for the next anniversary they'll consider the standard size. Still, great little deck😊
I have an unopened first print first edition of the first deck that was released (white backs with small gold symbols) I have every deck and I wasn’t going to even consider this one, but I have 3 of those decks! They were all bought at the same time when they first released all are first print first edition, one that I’ve used. And one I haven’t. One I gave my sister years back hers is also the first print first edition Which is about a tarot size. I’m glad I didn’t get them now that I see they’re smaller. I mean I have tons of RWS clones! And I’ll keep buying those! But so many of these decks- I have the one I use the most and it’s not the small one. I have that too. I probably used it a dozen times maybe 2. Since its purchase when they re-released the deck as the smaller Zerner Farber. I wonder if the first print is worth anything! I’ll have to do my homework I’m selling a ton of old decks. A perfect unused deck of the hoi polloi. Which I’ve been having a major issue parting with, despite the fact I never used it, and use the MoonChild tarot instead. I think it’s time someone who collects gets it. I’m a collector but due to the inflation here in the states, I have to sell a lot of my decks bc we just have to do that right now. Im kind of a mess about it, but that’s why I’m making sure I sell only decks I can get a reprint of later on down the line although nothing is guaranteed I suppose
Lovely deck, shame it isn’t standard tarot size but otherwise it’s lovely 😊 thank you for doing the comparison between the different editions, that was really useful to see the different sizes, card stock etc 😍❤️
Thanks so much, Simon! I've looked at this deck before and not liked it quite enough to buy it. This new edition is just right! For more of us with smaller hands, that is. 🙂 I think it's probably similar in dimension to my Anima Antiqua Soprafino.
Thank you for this video, Simon. The Enchanted Tarot was my first tarot deck back when I was 12 years old and it holds a special place in my heart. I still have my first edition, the 25th anniversary edition (which I trimmed!). Would love to get the mini version to carry around with me, but they are hard to find in the UK, so this tarot size is a very tempting and more affordable option.
@@the_hermits_cave I went back to watch it more closely, indeed it’s much smaller than the standard tarot size, which is a good option for me since I was looking for a kind of pocket/bridge version. Although I do see how other people would prefer it to be a standard tarot size option. Either way, great to see all three compared.
Thank you so much for sharing. Now I see 30th anniversary edition available. Do you know any differences between 25th and 30th anniversary edition of these decks? Are they just reprinting or adjusted some parts? Thank you.
I trimmed the Enchanted, took off all the borders. That size is i guess about twice that of your new version, which i think is perfect. Kind of disappointed at these small ones
Gorgeous deck without border and gilded edges simon you spoiling me I was planning to buy 30th anniversary but this golden gilded and border less deck am loving it Thanks for sharing it was great to see the comparison 💖
@@the_hermits_caveimages is the old one 25th Anniversary but I believe it’s same not sure and zerner and Fabre tarot size is tiny but my hand are small but don’t know confused
I had the original deck back in the 90s and I’m not sure what happened to it. I bought the Enchanted Tarot 25th anniversary edition but found the cards are just too big. Thanks for showing this as it’s one I may end up getting. So glad Red Feather picked it up.
I still prefer the larger size because of the details. If they are sending decks for you to review why not sending you an early copy and checking people's opinion before the finished product?
i was hoping to see a comparison video! i have the 30th edition, and i love it. i originally bought it because of its unique size and beautiful artwork. i am happy to hear about this new version coming out, so it’d be easy to shuffle, but it’s a bit too small still. i admire their dedication toward not making a standard size, LOL. something that also intrigued me about the new version is that the guidebook now has reversed meanings! if i remember correctly, the enchanted deck guidebook said that they don’t believe in reversals (which is fine!), but i wonder what made them change their mind with this new deck? thanks for this video!
Honestly I was shocked by the tiny size of the deck when I removed the book from the big box. They really need to make these cards larger so that the intricate details of the artwork can be properly appreciated.
I was hoping for the middle ground
They are not in balance 😂 cards are massive or tinny 😂😂😂

Love this. Love the guidebook with the enchantment message.
Would also love it in standard size.
One day 🤞🏻
Thanks for the review, I think I still love the massive size Tarot Edition. Even though is difficult to shuffle 😅. Love from Chile
I’ve just opened my copy of this latest edition! Thanks for this!
Are you pleased with it?

Glad you enjoyed it 😍
Great video as always Simon.
I have the small size deck but it was from The Instant Tarot Reader book & card set ©1997 rather than the Tarot Discovery Kit. I also have the original ©1990 Enchanted Tarot as well as the 25th Anniversary edition of the Enchanted Tarot.
Anyone them tarot sized?
@@the_hermits_cave sadly not. The nearest is the original but that is still taller & slightly slimmer than the standard tarot size

To be honest these cards are only slightly bigger than the mini version. Definitely not tarot sized.

Gorgeous aren’t they!
The SIZE! Lovely. Reminds me of the Cary-Yale (Visconti, US Games). They are h-u-g-e. I love them, but I have no idea how to handle them.
Ravishing..😍😍😍 These new size and gilding are so perfect.. I’m in love.
Thank you Simon.

I don’t think it works like that with mass market decks. They’ve usually decided on the finished products before going to print

Oh I didn’t know that. That’s interesting. Do you know if there ever was a regular tarot sized version?
