- The Baseball Bat Bros try out two of the lightest swinging BBCOR bats in the game: the Rawlings Quatro Pro and the Rawlings Velo ACP.
These bats are going to be best suited for contact hitters and younger BBCOR players. If you're looking to hit the ball out of the yard, these bats probably aren't for you. But if you're looking to catch up to fast pitching and maximize bat control - it doesn't get much better than these two bats.
We recommend these bats exclusively for younger/new BBCOR hitters as well as true 'contact hitters' facing faster pitching. If you don't fall into one of those categories, we have plenty of other videos/reccos for you!
The Quatro Pro is a 2-piece composite bat (they say 4-piece, but in everyone else's terms, it's a 2-piece). And it's probably the single lightest BBCOR bat out there - and it has a huge sweet spot (which is a pretty rare combo - hence the $450 price tag). It honestly feels a lot like swinging a dampened-down drop-5!
The Velo ACP is a non-traditional 2-piece: All aluminum until the last 2 or 3 inches of the end of the bat - then it transitions to composite so the bat swings much lighter/balanced. Also going to be one of the lightest bats out there - a really similar bat to the Louisville Slugger Solo and the Victus Vandal.

Had a dream last night I was back in high school, bottom 9th, state championship, two outs, bases loaded and Im up to bat hitting with an old BESR blue and orange TPX (yea im old) took the first outside pitch to see one and get my bearings, I knew I was about to smoke a oppo backspin line drive....then I woke up...lame

I'm about to start bbcor in the fall so this was very helpful. My parents will be happy that I'm more interested in a one-piece alloy than a two-piece composite too.
I was able to find a barely used 2020 velo ACP 33" bbcor for $45😀. My 14 year old son has been training all off season with it and loves it! Very good intro bbcor bat!
Just picked up a -5 Velo for $100 for my son. Amazed at how light the swing weight felt, when compared with his Easton -8. Felt like swinging a -8, or almost even a -10. Love the Reviews!
Im thinking guys the cold weather definitely plays into this test. Composite will always be affected by cold where aluminum doesn't. All the tests I have seen the Quattro Pro has 1-2% less exit velo than the Louisville Meta. It might be good to revisit this in warmer weather. Also the best aluminum with most pop is the C8 by far..

Can you review the Louisville select 719 bbcor from last year. It’s very similar to the select power.

The problem is it’s a composite bat vs a aluminum bat. Right out of the box the aluminum will do better because it’s density is never going to changed. The composite bat will flex more and have more of a trampoline affect after it’s broke in
