      I know, right? I was gonna say that Doug definitely was the best choice for Python... I mean, he makes him my favorite character just by voicing him lol. And if you've seen some of the other works Doug's been in as well... Naruto, One Punch Man, Xenoblade Chronicles, Blue Dragon... even Care Bears! lol. But yeah, you can tell how great of a voice actor this guy is.

      How's your experience with Python? Honestly Tobin as an archer is a lot better for me cause Python dies a lot more than Tobin does.
      Oh and I agree with the Shinon thing, Python is not a straight up dickbag, can be friendly, and surprisingly offers sensible advice (look up him and Lukas' convo).

    • @matthews.5499
      @matthews.5499 7 лет назад +9

      Faraae Python in my run had much more speed and attack while Tobin had more Skill and luck. I HAD to give Tobin Pegasus cheese in order for him to catch up to Python in terms of speed. You just have to grind Python a bit but he's by no means useless. Let Python hit with doubles (Even WITH a silver bow sometimes) Let Tobin have a Blessed Bow for doubles or if you wanna just do one strong shot a Killer Bow. His supports can give him a max increase in Crit by 15%. I don't know Python's max effects from his but it's mostly a boost in hit chance I think.

    • @Sofiaode18
      @Sofiaode18 7 лет назад +4

      Matthew S. Yup that's what happened to my Tobin and Python too. Python generally has the higher Mt, and mostly doubles, but my god, his hit rate is 78 at most and I've seen it at 18. Python never fucking hits. Too bad archers are broken in this game and I need to use both of them. I'm at the boss of act 5 and I feel massive regret for not properly training Python and Tobin. Now I'm playing my second save file that was saved on act 4, trying to properly train my elite 10 so that I'll be less fucked.

    This support explains why python didn't want to be a Knight at the end of the game. He didn't want to conform to social hierarchies so he started a militia instead because he believes in equal security. I wish Donnie in awakening did the same thing instead of just re-conforming to society and going back to the farm or Mariabelle not being a magistrate if she marries him. They built his character so much but gave him a terrible ending.

      2.) His support with Mariabelle is one of the best in the game and would explain why their kid talks with a slang but there ending drags it down because they do more good in the end when paired with other people.

    I really don't like Clive, but it's also really refreshing to see a character that's not exactly perfect and done in a kind of realistic manner? His flaws are more with his upbringing than with himself as a person, which is actually a pretty common issue this day and age. Most characters in Echoes mostly seem to stick to a specific trope and come off really generic or poorly written, but Clive is one of the more believable characters to me.
    Media doesn't usually portray the whole 'people aren't entirely good or bad' thing all too well as it usually goes wild with extremes. But I think they did a good job tackling it with Clive, especially considering the small amount of dialogue he has in comparison.

    • @G0on
      @G0on 7 лет назад +64

      I agree with everything you say apart from Echoes characters being one-note. There are some very human characters in this game with more than one side to them including Clair, Tobin, Gray, Sonya, Kliff, Lukas, Berkut, Fernand, Leon, Boey, Mycen and the list goes on. I'd like to hear some examples of poorly written characters in this game, if you wouldn't mind (excluding Celica).

    • @YourCrazyDolphin
      @YourCrazyDolphin 7 лет назад +42

      windfishie I think most of note is that Clive not only has his flaws, but is aware of them, however isn't so easily able to change. With characters in media often times they just change on a dime once they want to, but with Clive- while he knows the flaws in his beliefs and tries his hardest to act and treat everyone fairly, he still has trouble fully doing that, and that is part of what makes him so human.
      Not only does he have flaws, but he actively struggles with them.

    I think that both their sides have some sort of merit. I think Clive is right to an extent, where he says that there should be nobility and people beneath them. As a grander concept, it's much like, there should be the rich and the poor. This is highly controversial, and if I go too far, it will get too political, which I don't want this post to be. To put it simply though, I believe that there needs to be people who stand above others in order to lead and create opportunities for those below them. If they are seen as having more merit, and as a result are of a higher class than those they lead, then so be it. That's how I look at things at least, and I'm sure Clive does as well. But the problem with Clive, and where Python is correct is that while he does try to get friendly with those below him, he still does look down on them, as he looks at them differently from himself. Clive is still a good person regardless, but he's a product of his environment, much like Python is to his. Python is mainly correct in that while there are people above you in social class, they still shouldn't look down on you just because of class, because chances are some were born in a more favorable situation than others, and if they look down on someone because of something like that, which shouldn't matter, then that's a real problem.

    • @Sofiaode18
      @Sofiaode18 7 лет назад +31

      Honestly, I agree. Economic equality sounds grand and perfect, but if it sounds too good to be true then it's gonna be a mess in practice. I mean, look at what communism stood for and look at what it actually did.

    • @SeraphimDragon
      @SeraphimDragon 7 лет назад +25

      The problem isn't structure. The problem is people hate the idea that they're followers in the grand scheme of things, even if it makes perfectly sound logic. In truth a society *needs* leaders like Clive, despite his opinion on things, he clearly cares for people like and unlike himself and will do what's necessary for all that follow him in earnest (Python even attests to this). And disagreements are normal, but should never escalate to violence (which they typically do in this day and age). The real problem lies in people who believe they are better than others and will do anything to prove it, but when they meet someone they believe aren't better than them (even if they are), they lash out. Why? Because all their life they were told they were the best by the people who cared for them, making them blind and prideful to the point of stupidity. Either that, or they just can't stand to do the things they need/should do to be part of a healthy environment (work, respect the laws of your community, be courteous), and when someone cracks down on them they reject it, and by doing so reject the very structure needed to make a society function.
      I'm a middle/low class citizen and I work paycheck to paycheck. I'd like to believe I'm as honest/courteous as they come. Despite my own standing in society, I'm not going to hate someone who's better than me, makes more than me, or happened to live a better life than me because they were born into it or worked for it, and I have no issues following the leader in any situation because generally those are situations that require me to do so and it's the right thing to do. However, all of that comes to a stop the moment I or anyone I care for is disrespected or neglected. I believe *that* is the one and only time anyone has the right to lash out, regardless of who you are/what you make or think. The moment someone *truly* treats you like shit, that is the moment they need to be reminded that though they may or may not be better than you, they're just as human as you are and bleed the same. Without structure, there is only chaos. In chaos, everyone loses. Wish America would wake the fuck up and realize that. Instead people are going for each other's throats just because of their skin color or political stances. Like people, do you not realize there are MUCH greater things to fight for than your stupid pride or willfully ignorant claims?

    • @Pik3rob
      @Pik3rob 7 лет назад +1

      True, structure is necessary, but as soon as people who are not fit to be a part of the upper levels of said structure, then some cracks begin to show, even if the structure is necessary. I think another problem that arises is that people in the lower levels of the structure do not see the metaphorical cracks in the same way as those in the upper levels. To someone in the bottom, something may seem like a crack, but to the person on the upper level, it is a necessary. But it's not as if one side is inherently correct. People in the lower parts of the structure can frequently see themselves as higher morally than those above them, as a way of comforting themselves, and this itself can also lead to disagreements and possibly violence. It's really something that goes both ways.

    • @SeraphimDragon
      @SeraphimDragon 7 лет назад +1

      Oh yeah, no doubt. I wasn't trying to imply those in charge are good, just in an ideal world for a structure to be perfect you need people in the upper levels who care for everyone equally, and those in the lower levels to fall in line without feeling like they're not as important. In my personal opinion it's just egoism, pride, and greed that ruins it for everyone.

    • @omaymah1301
      @omaymah1301 6 лет назад +5

      Pik3rob I totally agree that structure in a society is important, and that it is natural for rich and poor people to exist, but what is not natural and is unfair and unjust is for those of middle and low class (especially low class) to not be given basic necessities of life while those who are rich get everything. This is just pure tyranny and inequity.
      Although it is not realistic to demand equality, what is realistic and should be achieved is equity, and the two concepts are different. When equity is applied, not everyone would be the same really and the structure of society Clive spoke of would still remain, but at least all people would live a life that is appropriate and decent.

      Proto L If you beat the Deliverance DLCs then Forsyth and Python both unlock supports with Lukas and Clive, and Clair unlocks supports with Mathilda.

      Lynx Willow hahahahaha though in this case it makes sense, he talks about classism which was a huge issue way back when.

      Lynx Willow 3rd wave feminists may compare skin color privelidge to class, but unlike the former, classism undeniably exists in feudalism. The debate is whether Valentia needs strong rulers or leaders who share struggles with their people.

      Yeah, They say all whites are privileged, all males are too. But not fat people? Who were able to get that way and privileged enough to have so much to eat and money to buy it? >.< feminists make no sense
