You all probably dont care but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me
I have one and two! I've played through everything on one.. at least the games I like a couple weren't my cup of tea ☕. I have two as well but not looked at that one yet. One game I really liked was rainbow islands 🌈
If I had to pick just one it would be the "SEGA Genesis Collection" simply because it has "ZEKTOR" "TAC/SCAN" (PS2) "ELIMINATOR" "SPACE FURY" (PSP) arcade games that you can unlock. Those are some of my favorite vector arcade games & they don't appear on any other compilation. Although hopefully that will change in the future if SEGA decides to release a new compilation in the same vein as "Atari 50 Anniversary Celebration". Nice collection.
My wife and I play the metal slug anthology all the time. She brought the PS2 to our relationship. I brought the other 6 or so consoles. Nice vid topic John.
I've also played that compilation with my wife while we were dating and when I purchased it for my PlayStation 4 she was like I never played that game with you. I didn't want to bicker with her. At least she remembered playing the Sega Genesis Collection with me.
I also love the Sega Genesis Collection. Totally brings me back. Shadow Dancer was one of my favourite arcade game back in the 90's. Great video overall John !!! Love the compilations !!!
As a mega collector of PlayStation 2 (going for a complete PAL set at the moment and absolutely loving it) I have to say I am so happy you did this video. Atari Anthology is amazing - River Raid and Commando are absolute gems on that set - and Bosconian on the Namco Museum sold me on that set without even having to look at the rest of them. Great video, great picks. Very nice!
Taito legends is the best. Especially because of darius gaiden. I have darius gaiden on Saturn, but on the fly I typically pop in my ps2 compilation and play it and honestly like the controls with the PlayStation controller.
I’ve been enjoying the Metal Slug Anthology and just recently picked up the SNK Classics. Never had a NeoGeo, so enjoying getting to catch up on some things I missed. Need to check out some of these others. Thanks for posting!
Good video! Good picks. For me, Namco and Capcom covers the best of the arcade era. Its a shame there isnt (that i know of) a hypersports or int track&field included any compilations for ps2. Such sweet nostalgia
I really enjoy your videos man, I find your passion for gaming is awesome , I love watching your videos here in Sydney ,Australia like many Aussies who love retro gaming!
I like that Midway Arcade Treasures 3 had, of its eight games overall (nine games on the menu if I remember correctly but one was just the additional circuit pack for Super Off-Road), four relatively contemporary (at the time of its release) arcade racing games, two of which were essentially ports of the Dreamcast versions, with my favourite of the lot being Hydro Thunder.
Awesome video, John! I found the Metal Slug 4&5 disc and volume 1 of the Fatal Fury Battle Archives at a local used store here for $2 a piece - couldn't pass those up!
Its time I am honest and come clean. I thumbs up Johns videos before I even watch them! Because, I am convinced it is impossible for him to upload thumbs down content! Great work and I enjoy the detail and quality of your gaming video's.
Yes. I have some of these!!! Tiato is one of my favorites compilations. It has Space gun. I would skip classes sometimes from my local college and just hang out in the local mall arcade. Space Gun was a favorite of mine. Lol I would cash in 5 bucks worth of quarters and make them last as long as possible. I would spend half the day just hanging out there and playing classics as well as newer games. They even had Sega's hologram game. Was it time bandits ? I cant remeber the name off hand. That was amazing back then. I always loved these compilations. Alot of memories in one disc. Thank you for Sharing John. You brought back some fond times of my early adult life!
I love watching these videos because I learn about so many games I've never heard of and have to try out! Especially for the Sega Genesis! I'm a retro gamer but I do love me some Metal Slug!! I have to dust off the old PS2 and get that Metal Slug compilations!!!
You have a great collection of this game, i think a fan of old games, have to try to find all, like you. I enjoyed this video without subtitles , luckily you speak very clearly.
My Art of Fithing, Fatal Fury Vol 1, Capcom Collection 1 and 2 Megaman legacy and X also SF Anthology and the SNK all those i still have them sealed since i play them on my PC ...oh and Taito 2 also is sealed.
Thanks for doing this one, John. The comps don’t see enough love in my opinion. Huge fan of the midway and taito sets. Need that Samurai Showdown comp.😃
Really enjoyed this vid John. The Sega Collection is a must have and thanks for pointing me at the midway collection, I wasn't aware of that one and look forward to having a crack at Gauntlet :)
I'm a big fan of the collection disks, since its great bang for your buck, so to speak! Although I didn't like how the Taito collection had different exclusives on OG Xbox, and even PSP!
Awesome Stuff I have a few of these in my collection love it. Thanks for posting this I got to pick up the Samurai Showdown now being that you showed it and I don't have it fighting games are definitely up my alley.
My personal favorite is the megaman anniversary collection, remembered renting this game from Hollywood videos, the main menu theme song is amazing 👏 playing the challenging classic megaman games with the bonus power battle games, this one really hits home for me
There is not just one compilation game I liked the best. All of them have brought back many memories from back in the day and now there even way more far of back in the day. I always wished it would rain because my friend had every Atari 2600 and I always enjoyed playing the Activision games because they were always great quality games that are fun to play.
Thanks John! Reminded me I need to pick up Midway Classics 1 for Road Blasters. I have Midway 2, Sansho Anthology (I bought it for close to $40 back in the day, yeah it has gone down), Metal Slug Ant, KOF Orochi Saga, 2002 & 03, Sega Genesis Collection, both Capcom Collections, Street Fighter 15th Anniversary, Art of Fighting Ant, both Fatal Fury Collections, Gradius 3 & 4, n Taito Legends 2. Taito Legends 2 might be my favorite for Elevator Action Returns & all the schmups on there such as Metal Black & Darius Gaiden. A lot of gems there! On the XBox I have Midway Arcade Treasures 3 which I'll pull out for Hydro Thunder & SF Rush 2049! On the GameCube I have Sonic Gems Collection for Sonic CD. Great video topic! This generation had so many compilation discs, especially PS2!
*On the Megaman X Collection, you forgot to mention the hidden kart game named Megaman: Battle and Chase that you can unlock after you beat the first 3 Megaman X games. But otherwise awesome video.*
Cool. I have 16 of those. I haven't played them all, but my favorites are the Sonic Mega Collection Plus, Megaman Collections and Intellivision Lives. The Intellivision was the first console I had and played. One of my favorite games of all time is Burgertime. I love compilation games. They should do more.
I got the compilations for specific titles. I got Taito Legends 2 for Elevator Action Returns, Sega Classics for Virtua Racing, Midway Arcade Treasures 2 for NARC and Midway 3 for Hydro Thunder and San Francisco Rush 2049. Midway Arcade Treasures 1 has a lot of good titles on it as you say though
As a kid I loved my ps2 and all the 3D games in it but sega genisses is what introduced me into 16 bit style games and I still love my ps2 of course my favorite system but I still need to get some of these compilations snk compilations look awesome ecpecially love me some king of fighters but i never played fatal fury and art of fighting wanna play those and metal slug
My favorite is the Midway arcade treasures. I have all 3 on orig xbox, and sadly they are not BC on the 360 or Xbox one. The sega classics is a good way to play Virtua racing, but the rest of the disc is just ok. I'll have to try to snag that Taito collection now! Looks awesome! I have a couple namco museum games on ps1, but they lack true analog control. Can't say they're that great.
I’ve got a lot of these, and they’re great, but you showed me a few more that I want. Thanks! Tough to choose a favorite, but nothing beats Midway one with Robotron! I love getting PS2 games that I missed out on. If you have any recommendations for oddball PS2 games that are fun, that would make for another great video. Have a great day, and continued success!
Taito legends 2 is one of my favorites! Sega Genesis collections is pretty good as well. Though it is missing some title like Shining force. Don't remember where I put my copy of capcom arcade classics 2... But there are some games on that that I wanna play again! about to order midway classics 2 and snk arcade classics 1! Wanna play some mortal kombat and shock troopers! Also would be nice to try playing samurai shoedown against a friend. Had the snk arcade classic 1 on psp, but it seems to have disapeared.
One thing to consider is that some of these compilations (like the Capcom Classics Collection and Metal Slug Anthology) have input lag. The Input lag is generally on par with emulators like MAME (about 3 frames for the most part) which may be a problem for some games. Also, many of the SNK compilations (like KOF Orochi Saga) feature completely different emulation the japanese versions and are terrible. In general, if you have a choice, go for the Japanese versions of the SNK games.
These collections are awesome. I have about eight or so. Is metal slug anthology worth £55? That's how much it is on cex. I'm not bothered it's second hand as long as it works and cex seems to be pretty reliable I've found in terms of the games working. I'm playing sega classics collection right now I'm really liking outrun 🚗
Id love to see a video on collections/comps on other generations that the PS2/xbox/GC cuz they seem to be not as known/popular. You could have the Atari Remix for PS1 (or whatever its called), the Midway/Williams collections , the Sega 3d collection on the 3DS, the collections on the Wii that werent available anywhere else - Namco Remix collection, Data East collection (pretty pricey or at least was ), Ultimate Shooter Collection by UFO, I guess you could have the Kirby collection and the Mario All Stars but they were a lil disappointing, especially that Mario All Stars. They couldnt even give you the one with SM World on it. There were some extras but they were only in the first printing of MAS, and not in the Greatest Hits rerelease of it. There are some more on the PS1 , and the Saturn had a bunch from Capcom, too but they were single game releases for the most part.
I know the MM X Collection on the GameCube is really expensive, or at least it was - I havent check in a long time. I got my PS2 brand new on Amazon in like 2013/14 for like 10 bucks shipped.
I like the Midway Arcade Treasures games. The collections are better on the PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube versions. The collection on PS3 and 360 doesn't include the interviews. I'm trying to get two more SNK collection games for my collection. I'm trying to get Samurai Showdown and King of Fighters collections. I'm looking for those collections on Wii. The Data East Collection on Wii is an interesting compilation game. It is hard to find though. I bought it for $20 when it was released now it goes for nearly $50.
John you should pick up two Transformers games on PS2,Japanese version is a Dynasty Warriors clone and North America version base on animated series Transformers Armada but it’s a hard game
I have really enjoyed going into my PS2 collections during the pandemic, especially the compilations. My favourite is the Taito Legends 1 as even games I am not nostalgic for are great to play and addictive such as Jungle Hunt.Capcom Collection 1 great for Final Fight + Ghouls and Ghosts. While I prefer Midway Arcade Treasures 1 (Roadblasters, Klax, Rampage) , Arcade Treasures 2 is good for gamers more into the Mortal Kombat games. The Sonic Collections are good but thought they should have had the Master System versions instead of Game Gear- the zoomed in view is odd when the Master System had versions more suitable for the T.V. - Likely for Japan and US as they most likely played on Game Gear, but in the UK we got most of them on the Master System so emulating these roms would have made more sense.
Atari Anthology was one of the first games I got when I got my PS2. It's hilarious to me that it's one of the very few games that offers 1080i on Xbox.
There were so many great compilations released on the PlayStation 2. Great idea for a video!
Thank you very much!
@@johnhancockretro You probably didn't buy any of those games. No wonder you're friends with Metal Jesus E-begs

Good video! Nice top ten of Compilation games for the PS2. There were a lot of them for the PS2 system! You have quite a collection of them!
The Namco Museum Anniversary was so much fun. So many faves from my childhood.
Taito legends 2 - elevator action returns
That is all

I have most of these, but the multiplatform ones I have for Gamecube instead. These are about all HIGHLY recommended from me as well!
I'd have to pick Taito Legends 2 over the first for sure! But cool video
Taito legends is the best. Especially because of darius gaiden. I have darius gaiden on Saturn, but on the fly I typically pop in my ps2 compilation and play it and honestly like the controls with the PlayStation controller.

Mega man and x collections are two great picks I have both not too expensive either.👍
Good prices on several compilation games too. Always nice to see good games that are affordable.
Great job! What about best jsmpack or demo sample collection?
My favorites are the Taito and Midway collections. Sega Classics would also have been great if they had not messed it up and "modernized" the games.
I really like these compilation games they released a lot on the PS2. We got a few on PS3 but even fewer on the PS4. Hope we get more on PS5
They started splitting them up and selling individually. I am not a fan of that at all.

How are the controls with the Activision Anthology? Clunky?
Not at all for joystick games. For paddle games, so-so.
