      @Alex Briggs - True, but he struggled with depression more than being lazy exactly. Ironically though, the structured routine of regular training would have helped him combat the depression, but once you get into a downward spiral (especially if alcohol is abused) it just gets harder and harder to make these intelligent decisions and get yourself back on the right track. Despite this, Ricky was still an awesome fighter!

    Man after all these years watching and listening to tonnes of instructors and coaches out there, 2 minutes in this video and I know I’m watching a masterpiece, simple and so effective in under 3 minutes. Others cannot explain and show for years and they blame their boxers.

      Even old retired boxers, and by old I mean men in their 60s, retain a semblance of their power. It's not so much to do with strength but knowing how to throw a punch properly generating power from the ground up. Most fools out there have no idea how to punch properly and just throw haymakers.

    A liver shot literally ends the game.....I took one in my first sparing ..And that was it .I was all out of breathe ...It was a very necessary experience for me because I can take punches and kicks on most of the parts of my body...But that day I realised how important it is to gaurd my body also .

      Ace Vincent Arevalo he got knocked out pretty bad in those losses. Once he started fighting the top fighters he lost pretty bad. He won against an old Castillo and Malignaggi is about all.

    I dont follow Hatton much, but I watched him all the time when he fought. Always fought to win, never fought a boring fight(except when he fought boring fighters) and a humble guy. I know hes had issues since retiring but to see him around shows me that hes still a world class champ!

    I was in the Thomas and Mack centre when he finished Castillo with that body shot. From the cheap seats I thought it was a low blow and he’d taken a knee. On replay .... absolutely devastating shot

      Spence is very good no doubt but against Brook most of his 'body work' was low blows and therefore didn't get scored. Brook did lean on him and push his head down but still Spence's accuracy with body shots was poor in that fight. Made up for it with the head shots though.

    Still a Legend. You had 2 devastating losses but you also had so many Legendary wins. It was the style difference and how it countered yours but it doesn't make you less of a great boxer. One thing is for sure, I enjoyed all your fights and those body shots were massive.

    He has a great self deprecating sense of humor , his weight was always a challenge for him thru out his career which is why some of those KO’s looked so brutal, he went thru some wicked crazy weight cuts that just drained his bodies ability to take punishment.

    I loved Ricky Hatton, he was a true warrior in the ring. His battles outside the ring with booze and food are what shortened his career
