    Can't have been the only teenage boy that fancied Teagan in the early 80s?

      You were. Nyssa was far better than that Aussie drac. Then came Peri who actually filled a bra unlike Germaine Greer.

    She was always one of my favorite companions and I met her once in my Peter Davidson outfit at a doctor who convention she was very nice and I asked her to sign my autograph brave heart tigging I even though I've heard that she hates that line but she did me 1 better and put my own name there saying brave heart Is Anton I couldn't believe it it was so awesome

      She hates being asked to be the Mara, she hates quoting lines from the show.... there isn't much she actually likes, apart from getting paid for disappointing fans at these conventions, the old bag.

      Watch 'Four to Doomsday' again..... Are you talking about the crone who was quite prepared to abandon the Doctor, Nyssa and Adric on Monarchs ship and condemn them to their doom by trying to nick the TARDIS?

  • @ajbartley3432
    @ajbartley3432 2 года назад +7

    Only critique is its 'JOvanka' not 'YOvanka' The J is pronounced phonetically, the 'O' isnt usually emphasised, Tegan herself introduces herself as J'vanka. Being Australian myself this makes perfect sense!

    • @DS-ce9cf
      @DS-ce9cf 2 года назад

      This makes absolutely no sense, as she was named after the first lady of Former Yugoslavia - Jovanka Broz whose name is pronounced exactly like in this video. There's no point in honouring someone and then pronouncing the name in a british way. Seems pointless really.

      @@DS-ce9cfWell if you are English then you will pronounce it in an English way. I don't notice many other nationalities adopting an English accent when they say my name lol😊

    In Power of the Doctor, she mentioned two ex-husbands, confirmed on Tardis Wiki . . . no mention of a romantic relationship with Nyssa or beating cancer, but understandable given the context of the scene . . . and an adopted son???? I tried to check on this and found nothing. How about you?

    Back in the 80s, Janet was beyond gorgeous, she's still not bad looking but she's not as gorgeous as she used to be, Sophie Aldred's still the sexiest, most beautiful woman in the universe though.

    • @rnw2739
      @rnw2739 Год назад

      Janet was never gorgeous, I'm afraid. Her non-existent bosom, ludicrous hairdo's and Antipodean bloodline, all conspired to prevent her from ever being a beauty.
      Unfortunately, women from 'Down Under' tend to have hag-like, crone visages and have never been considered beautiful - 'Prisoner: Cell Block H' was cast with the most attractive specimens of womanhood to be found in Australia... 😢

    • @rnw2739

      *gathers myself from hysterical laughter of derision*
      Janet Fielding was beyond gorgeous?!!! When?!!! I'm sorry to say she was always an Aussie drac, and the younger she was the more absurd her hairdo.
      Observe the ludicrous abomination she sports throughout 'Four to Doomsday' - this was 1982 were the girls were becoming overly glamorous world wide, but Tegan just walks about with (what appears to be) Frankie Howerd's syrup on her head.
      The bitter resentment of failed feminism, a failed hate campiagn against Doctor Who in the 90s and a failed stint as an actors agent, has worn lines onto her face and she has resembled Patricia Hayes (complexion wise) for a very long time now.
      She has been warned to try and cheer up occasionally or she faces the wrinklage getting worse.
      Succinctly put, Fielding has been told by her cosmetic surgeon "Crack a joke or laugh once in a while, or risk becoming Sid James' in drag..."
      A terrifying thought.
      She would be more attractive if she were in 'Prisoner:Cell Block H', simply by cast association.

  • @rnw2739

    Brave?!!!
    I wouldn't call her brave at all. She liked to think she was and snidely accused Turlough of running away on Terminus infront of the Doctor, to humiliate him (Enlightenment).
    Yet who was it again, who fled to the TARDIS in tears, fidding with the controls, fully intending to leave Monarchs ship, effectively abandoning the Doctor, Adric and Nyssa without a second thought..?? (Four to Doomsday).
    She was clearly unperturbed with sealing her friends doom as long as she was OK.
    Brave is the last word I would attach to Ms. Jovanka.
    Let us not forget why the Mara chose her to possess. She was easier to control and already had the necessary hate and anger bubbling just beneath that laughable hairdo.
    She was also prepared to destroy herself and her friends again, because things weren't going to her liking (Earthshock).
    Examine more closely and you will discover, Tegan is a very selfish, miserable and spoilt character. One cannot fail to spot her utter resentment and rudeness to Kamelion when he asks to join the crew(The King's Demons).
    Her petty name calling to others when vexed (Mawdryn Undead) and her complete lack of interest/respect to the Doctor and his other selves (The Five Doctors).
    All this combined with appalling satorial taste, travelling the galaxy bedecked in many ludicrous garments - the worst of all being the rainbow splash dress first sighted in 'The King's Demons'. If she was also not quite as flat chested as she was, they may have looked rather nice.
    Alas, it was Peri who remembered to pack hers when she joined the crew.
    Tegan is the Veruca Salt in our TARDIS chocolate factory and one of the most unattractive girls Doctor Who ever had.

      Is this satire?

    • @rnw2739
      @rnw2739 8 месяцев назад

      @TakeNoteOfThat No it is fact. Had you seen every story in the Davison era, you could only concur, everything stated above happens and counteracts this ridiculous facade she has of loyalty and bravery.
      Satire indeed!!! Watch all Tegan's stories and come back here...
