    The P10 does not have a Sata-USB converter. The USB is on the drive electronics itself.

  • @giux900
    @giux900 3 года назад +5

    cool video, just missed some central points on disassembly partially the p10... is not shuckable cause the connector is on the pcb. Both are SMR, and i had bad experience with seagate brand so my advice... better the p10. Ah i prefer much more usb micro-b than usb type c... is much more solid and usb type-c will not bring any performance since disk speed are 130MB/sec in every case.

      @@constantech4342 "I was thinking of trying to put this in Xbox or PlayStation".
      I'm sure you've already tried it by now, but for anyone else reading this later, the Seagate drive wouldn't fit in a PS4, I believe the maximum height of a 2.5" SATA HDD for PS4 is 9.5mm. The 4TB & 5TB Seagate drives are 15mm tall.
      So 2TB would be the maximum capacity for a HDD in PS4, for more you'd need to go with an SSD.
      Cost-wise it would probably make more sense to go with a 1TB or 2TB SSD internally and use a larger external HDD like the Seagate or WD drives in this video. Best of both worlds as you get the speed benefits and can easily move games back & forth.
      Personally at the end of 2020 I swapped into PS4 a 1TB Crucial MX500 SSD and moved my existing 1TB HDD into a Orico USB 3.0 enclosure (now in use as 'extended storage' for games).
      I did also recently pick up a 4TB Seagate One Touch, which seems very similar to the model in this video, but that's going to be used as a general backup drive for PC etc. I haven't tried connecting it to PS4 yet, but the default formatting was exFAT so you could _probably_ connect it to PS4 too (without reformatting).

      I see this comment most likely too late , but I have not noticed much difference between them , most important put them on top of some foam the click should not be loud enogh to be picked up on mics , and they mostly come when you first acces the HDD , once it is spinning I don't really hear anything , but to be fair I would better sugest an SSD , I got some Crucial M2 with 4TB at around 160 euro some time ago
