Very informative. I haven't even considered whether I'm adding loft or delofting my putter, or knew what rhythm was likely to be more successful. Thanks.
If someone has same issues, open face, miss to right, hit past hole, adds loft to putting stroke, uses a blade putter…..besides bending the putter with stronger loft, which style of putter would help? I think you were saying a change in putter type would help aim (my aim is good) but can you suggest any putter types that help with the other issues better than a blade? Mallet, mid-mallet, toe hang, lines, dots, etc.?
Hey Cliff, thanks for the view and question. First I'd highly recommend coming into your local GOLFTEC and go through a putter fitting to dial that in as everyone reacts a little bit different when you start changing out heads, neck bends, lines on the the putter head, and the face balance. Playing around with all the above can help with your loft and returning the face back to where you had it aimed at address. Moving to a more face balanced putter might help with getting the face back to square at impact if you are leaving it open and to the right, assuming you are right handed. The change in the neck bends and offset on the hosel can help change loft or ordering in a putter with a certain amount of loft on the face as well. Hope that helps give you a little bit of a starting point.
@@GOLFTECLessonsFittings ohh... Im an OLD client and did shoot my best ever 67 at Legacy in Phx while taking lessons when you were in Golfsmith. Im in Gilbert, is there a location (Chandler/Tempe) and coach youd highly recommend? Im a 5 index so would like a seasoned vet. ;0)
While good info in this video still little suspect about the recommendation . Over last 5 years i have done 3 putter fittings at 3 different businesses with SAM and Capto and ended up with 3 different putter recommendations. 'they being a Odessay #9, a Odessay 2ball and a Taylor made spider, none of which putt any better on the course than my 25 year old Bullseye. On fast bent grass greens in summer , I also use a 8802 style blade putter.
Hey Geoff, thanks for the view and comment. Who all did your putter fittings and did they test the current putter and find fault with it? This video is more a putting assessment, not a putter fitting. It's simply testing how well the student performs the skill of aim, starting direction, and speed control which then guides down a path of where we need to focus our attention. In some cases a well fit putter might help that student but that would be an entirely different process.
I loved the golf tec putter assessment. So spot on. Learned a lot.
Glad you found value from it!👍🏼

Glad you enjoyed it!
Great lesson.
Glad you liked it!👊🏽
Interesting video - thanks. For the alignment test, what laser tool do you use?
Thanks, the laser we used in this video came with our Putter fitting system from Edel Putters.
Do these assessments work with side straddle putters?
Yes they would Mike.

She is in AZ so I assume this was in AZ, which location/coach?
This was actually filmed in our Studio at GOLFTEC HQ in Denver CO with our VP of instruction Nick Clearwater.
