This is great and like I said before helps remind me how amazing the gear I have already is. Also I appreciate hearing how reliable the autofocus has been for you
@@hellobrandonscottyou bet man. So weird that yesterday I was second guessing lens choices and today I’m like nah I’m good with what I’ve got. I am curious what the big difference maker was for you with SD cards (you mentioned in last video) - from which and to which speed you went and noticed the biggest difference?
@@_parkphoto Yeah! So three things were noticeably snappier. 1. Pushing play to review a photo. On slower cards this took like a few beats longer. 2. Clearing the buffer much faster when I'm having to do an occasional burst mode situation (people walking down the aisle at a wedding for example). The buffer doesn't even fill anymore. 3. Importing is 2x faster, which really adds up when it's midnight after getting home from a wedding and I just want to go to bed. I have 7 cards to import (Q2 + SL2-S x3), so this makes a HUGE difference.
I was on the edge for buying SL2-S because for the price there are really good options that has arguably better specs but this review definitely gave me more confidence about going through purchasing SL2-s in next few months or so if the prices dip that fast. Thank you!
TBH in my opinion the best place to buy used Leica gear is B&H. I have a filtered search I make a bookmark for that helps: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?q=used%20leica&searchType=USED&sort=NEWEST&filters=fct_brand_name%3Aleica
I love KEH for Leica gear as well. They’ve told me that they rate Leica gear more stringently - such that a “Bargain” grade Leica will be comparable to an “Excellent” grade something else
The SL3-S is a fine camera, but an underwhelming upgrade. Feels very similar to the Sony A1 mk.ii that is definitely a great camera, but so was the original A1.
Huh? It’s not a review, he hasn’t used the camera, and he’s not claiming anything about the outputs. It’s very clearly framed as his initial thoughts on release specs, from the POV of a user of the older gen.
I don't see the difference between the leica SL2-S and Leica SL3-S, only new few features for videos and buffering which is not the that useful for majority of the people buying leica SL series cameras from the beginning. Especially the Autofocus is not that same as sony or any other fast A. I. features cameras. That's the nice thing about the leica SL series, you're not out of league, when they release new cameras, even the leica M series, many users, use old cameras than new ones, leica SL2-S, leica sl series in any generation is good enough, affordable leica you can buy and buy the leica L lens mount than the latest and greatest camera body and didn't enjoy the real leica you paid for.
Love this video Brandon, definitely loving my SL2-S!!
Thanks bud 🫶🏻

Aw thanks! Glad it was helpful. It's the hardest thing sometimes to remember. I'm fighting it constantly.

@ that’s awesome - what cards are they?
@@_parkphoto Just these V60s amzn.to/4jndS46 I tested a V90 and the difference for the price was pretty immaterial.

Glad it helped! It's an incredible camera.
I’m still using Leica SL which is the original one. I like it.
I've never used one but would love to someday just to compare. That's awesome that it's still working out well for ya!
@@hellobrandonscott I also think this comparison will be wonderful!
I am using the sl2 which I love , I don’t feel I need to spend so much money to upgrade so far I am super happy with my current setup
You're in good company!
Where is a good place to buy used SL2-S or SL?

I would have rather see 2 function buttons on the left side instead of an iso wheel.
Me too, or TBH just nothing. I didn't feel like the 2-S was really lacking in input methods.

Kind of like smartphones, feels like we've reached the era where upgrades are incremental and pretty much every camera is plenty capable.
Exactly… we’re at a stage now where we can’t expect a complete reinvention every time. At some point we plateau and all cameras are decent.
I think the price for this camera will come down pretty quickly.
We'll see! I could see some sort of holiday promotion being a thing.
Don’t you love a camera review with no photos.
