    2015 Lexus LS460L
    4.6L V8 360hp/347 lb-ft (AWD) 386hp/357lb-ft (RWD)
    MPG: 16/24 (RWD) 16/23 (AWD)
    0-60: 5.4 (RWD) 6.0 (AWD)
    8 speed automatic
The LS460 beautifully fills the gap between the cheaper Hyundai Equus and more expensive BMW 7 series, Audi A8 and Mercedes S class. With gorgeous styling, impressive material quality, fantastic reliability and enough space for a first string basketball team, the LS460L is poised for success.
Under the hood lies a 4.6L V8 which produces 360hp and 347 lb ft of torque. Interestingly the RWD model produces nearly 30 more hp than the awd version we are testing. This power differential is due to the changes to the exhaust system. 0-60mph happens in 6 seconds, a decent time for a 4700lb sedan.
The LS cabin is incredibly isolated from the outside world. Road noise is practically non existent, a small hint at why this is such an exceptional luxury vehicle. Draped in semi aniline leather, alcantara and stunning bamboo trim the interior of the 460L is first class. For those seeking the next level of luxury, the optional executive class seating package is available. This offers 4 zone climate control, massaging seats, an ottoman style legrest and more. Most incredible however is the vehicles optional infrared sensors. These measure the surface temperature of rear seat occupants and automatically adjust the climate surrounding each passenger to the perfect level.
The front seats are very comfortable in the LS. When entering the vehicle you instantly notice the behemoth 12.3 in LCD screen. Thankfully it is operated by a touchpad as opposed to the annoying joystick used in some lexus vehicles. The graphics in the entertainment system are top notch and overall the system is easy to use.
This is of course the long wheel base variant, so rear space has been prioritized. As you can see there is endless head and legroom. Passengers in all seats would be comfortable on even the longest of road trips. And due to Lexuses phenomenal reliability, a cross country road trip wouldn't even be out of the question.
The driving characteristics of the LS do not promote aggressive behavior, this car is a luxury cruiser, not a nimble sports sedan. The chief priority is a serene, limousine like passenger experience, providing the highest degree of comfort and isolation. And Lexus has accomplished this quite well. The steering is light and the LS460 is effortless to drive. No matter which seat you reside in the Lexus, you will be relaxed.
This model is fitted with the optional Mark Levinson system which sounds fantastic. The bass is and the treble is.
Safety technology is plentiful in the LS, this car features a Pre-Collision system that is able to detect potential frontal collisions and will retract seatbelts while preparing to increase braking pressure when you engage the brakes. Radar Cruise control is able to sense the speed of the vehicle ahead of you to maintain a constant following distance and even stop and reaccelerate the car when traveling at speeds below 24 mph.
If you are looking for a competitively priced Luxury Sedan thats very comfortable, full of technology and exceptionally reliable the LS460 is definitely a car to consider. It is not as powerful as the new Mercedes S Class, but with a base price of $95,000, the german limousine is in a different segment all together.
Special thanks to Lexus of Ann Arbor.

I have owned a C class for a few years and never had any problems with it. Germans make great cars. I respect Lexus more because they have nearly all possible options as standard features on their cars while the Germans charge you a hefty price for each item. As a former Benz owner, if I had to choose it would be the Lexus.

These cars are between $35,000 for a perfect used example to Over $90,000 for an F sport with options. I have driven many cars in my lifetime, however have NEVER driven such a fine car. LS460's are known to travel 300,000 miles without a single broken part. This car is ULTRA quiet and runs 40mph per 1000rpm, which is a nutty 80mph at 2000rpm???? It's like a Star Ship at speed, no road noise and you could run it 150mph until the gas ran out... My only issue is the fact that its 4600 pounds needs at least 450hp.

Habib M Wait till the new Generation Ls is released next year. Remember this Ls has been around since 07 that's almost a decade now just refreshed to keep up with new technology. Next gen 2018 will have a whole new futuristic Interior and exterior design. compare this Ls design with the previous S class which really is its competitor and u'll see the Ls wins hands down. Better to compare the 2018 Ls when that is released next year with the new generation S Class

This v.s. a W221 S550. Which costs 18k give or take. Mercedes is like Apple INC, making moves to new things not copying. The radar cruise control is called Distronic Plus in Mercedes terms, which was featured on its W220 S class. (year 1999) The new W222 Mercedes features 360 surround night vision camera, you can drive with no headlights and the car will virtually drive itself, if you tape some capacitive gloves on the wheel. Please nothing beats the dual screens on the Mercedes S class, with one screen that is shared among the front passenger, and can display a totally different image the driver sees. I'm not a Lexus hater, i love my is350 but i also love my Mercedes S class.

Fair review. I like my mom's Mercedes, but I love my Lexus. Both great cars.

I'll add, that I had a 97 Camry that I bought with 31k miles in 2000. Drove it until 2016 and sold it with 250k miles. Everything worked perfectly. I drive an LS 430 now and it's superb. Getting an LS 460 in the next year or so. Love Toyota.

This body style is where Lexus should've stopped. The current LS looks like a bloated subcompact with a whale shark mouth. It no longer looks like a premium flagship sedan.
