All those beautiful synths... Makes me jealous. But in reality, I could buy a lot of them. The only thing I cannot buy is talent. Those synths are in a good hand. Thank you for the music and the trip!
Many of the great classics are here! CS80, Prophet 10, Jupiter 8.... Wow. Congratulations. And a dude who has an- Sirius, a K5 and a Mattel Synsonic Drum (not less! spotted on the piano) in his studio can't be totaly bad!😉
Great gears! I have only a few from this list, but I love them all. Oberheim Matrix 6 with the same Stereoping Programmer, Model D, Crumar BIT 99 with Stereoping Controller and the great Kawai SX-240.
Corrections: 8:20 The Roland JX-3P is a dual oscillator (digitally controlled analog oscillators) synth, not a single oscillator synth as mentioned in the video. This allowed for cross-modulation effects. 11:57 The Yamaha CS30L is a two-oscillator synth, not three. 24:18 You forgot to mention the Yamaha MM30 Portable Mixer! 🤣 Crappy little thing but I've got recordings I made back in the 80s using the strange "Echo" effect on it that I've tried to replicate using plugins and nothing sounds like it.
You are right on all counts, hard to keep track of all the specs on all the synths lol.Thats awesome you used to use the MM30, my first recordings including my first song ever to get regular FM radio airplay was recorded on that MT44 system which used the MM30 as the main mixer :)
@@MysticFrequencies Yeah, I wasn't dissing you. So many awesome synths, so little time! And that's awesome about your using the MM30. I was using it back when my keyboard rig was just a JX-3P, Crumar Performer, ARP Axxe, and a TR-606.
Amazing collection, thanks for the tour 👍I see your a Tom Bailey fan like myself, I wish somebody would do a deep dive interview with on the keys & setups he used back in the Twins days 😉
Thanks! yeah, Love Tom Bailey, Thompson Twins, Feedback Max, Babble etc.. I agree, it would be very cool to know more about his keyboards and setups used long ago. I did ask him what Synth he used for In The Name Of Love last time I saw him, he told me it was his Oberheim OB-Xa.
@@MysticFrequencies Hey thanks for that info, I've always wondered if its a Prophet 5 or OB-Xa on the arpeggiated intro section of Love on Your Side, his parts are always so well written, same as you fascinated by everything he turns his hands too, I guess a lot of the early stuff was recorded to tape wonder how much was sequenced & on what device, Just been looking at your Twins collection video.....absolutely amazing, well done you for tracking all that down 👏👏 btw Subscribed to MF
I kept wondering when I'd see an Ensoniq product..thought for sure there'd be one....then I started really doubting it..then blammo slapped in the face by the purple! Impressive collection I appreciate your explanations of uses and exclusive features.
Unreal studio. That cs80 made my jaw drop. I think you should swap the dx9 out for a sy99, swap the dx7 out for a montage, and swap the dx5 out for a dx1!
Thanks! I am glad you liked the video! Believe it or not the DX7 and DX9 are already gone, I never used them lol. They were replaced by a Jupiter 6 and an Andromeda A6! As for the DX1, well actually I already have one, it just wasn't in my studio a the time I made the tour vid. Heres a quickie clip of it, enjoy! ruclips.net/video/Nd6uC79tTe4/видео.html
Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed the video! The sweeping lights you see are RGB Lasers and a little bit of fog machine fog. :) Stay tuned, a new tour video is in the works since things have changed since this video was made!
@@MysticFrequencies Yeah if you recall that Moss Engine actually started out in the Trinity and the Prophecy.. then into the Z1.. When you look at all of the different oscillator types it’s still really unique in today’s market. Just like the Xpander today with all of the different filter types. There’s not many on the market that has that type of Analog filter and individual panning per Voice.
Gary Numan used the Polymoog 280a Keyboard Version, with the famous "Vox Humana" Preset, used on "Cars" or Visages "Fade to Grey". The Keyboard feature also the Bass from "Fade to Grey", which curiously based on the Brass Section, not on a Bass. Explain by Christpher Payne: ruclips.net/video/AmF_jeokUX8/видео.html
I think its safe to say ... you are an obsessive synth collector ! V impressive collection - almost worthy of turning into a full shop one day if you ever decided too. Have you got an absolute favourate - there are some synths they call the ultimate ones - the jupiter and the cs80 - but are those your faveourate ones ? like if you had to go on a desert island and you can only have one of them , which one would you take ! ?
Hi and thanks! Honestly I don't consider myself a collector. I enjoy playing my synths, composing, recording music with them and performing live. If I have a synth, it gets used in one way or another :) I used to own a DX-1, didn't use it much, did a sale/trade for it with good friends that have a great studio in Austin. Anyway, My fave synths that I own are, in no particular order: Kawai SX-240, Teisco SX-400, MatrixBrute, Summit and Peak, JP8, CS-80. If I had to choose only one for the desert island, id take my Casio VL-tone ;) Synths I used to own but sold simply because I didn't use them: Arp odyssey MK1, Odyssey Mk2, Pro-One, Micromoog, Memorymoog, Yamaha DX1, Casio CZ5000, Kawai K5m, Roland MKS-70, Roland D-550. Those were all great synths too, simply sold and / or traded for other synths that are here now :)
@@MysticFrequencies I was only joking about the shop but it would make a good shop ! You are a sort of collector - it is a big collection. One of the best I have seen on youtube. I did see your dx1 - I have heard its good. I understand your selling stuff - Its difficult to go much futher as you have a lot and would need such a big room it would mean you could never reach the stuff - or it would just end up unplugged for years on end. It is a large studio you have. I have 10 synths and its too many for me - if i try and plug them all in it really is a mess of wires i am tripping over so at max i just plug 3 in - been going over to vst's more at the moment - so am trying to get the urge to sell them as not using
Value wise, yeah, probable around $250k here however, I am a tech, some of the gear, especially the more expensive stuff I find for much less in non working condition or worse, then i repair and restore them :)
Holy. Just...holy!
Amazing Home Studio with many beautiful synthesizers. Great !!!
Impressive collection! Thanks for the tour! :)
Everything about this is amazing. The 80s zooms. The lazers. The energy.

I’m so jelly! I thought my setup was impressive! Bravo sir
Thank you! Many years behind my setup, always adding/changing ;) Send me a link, would love to check your setup out!
It shows! I'm almost done the build on my new studio. Should be done mid February. I'll send you a link then:)@@MysticFrequencies

Let's face it this is a museum. I think if I went there my wife would accuse me of cheating.
Absolut amazing!

Wonderful room, thanks for the tour
Great studio and gears. Hard to pick favorite ones from there, too many great synths.
Amazing studio!! Love it!!!
Heaven on Earth! Congratulations with your beautiful studio! Takes me also into memory lane. Thanks for sharing...
Awesome equipment 👍👍
These beats are off the charts! 🎵🔥 Keep it up, dude!♥♥
Cool studio!!!
Fantastic studio with some unique and interesting equipment.
nice uncommon units amongst the mix, the ones I like the most
Nice Xpander mate
The Metal Moog decal on your mac, I believe I sold that to you on either EBay or Reverb. I use to dumpster dive at Moog. I have a bunch of cool stuff

@@MysticFrequencies that is awesome, your collection is epic. Some incredible synths I only dream of.. I’ve never even seen a dx1 or a cs80.
Looks great, Ron!
Sick collection mate
your collection is tripping me out 👁
Nice setup. I didn’t see a Prophet VS though. I must have looked away when you showed one…..
Always wanted a VS, hopefully one day I will add one to my studio :)
🙀 I used one of those Yamaha drum paddy things on my first CD! 🙀
What keyboard stands do you use and trust to put your synths on?
All of my stands are Ultimate Support Systems :) Stronger than Jaspers and you can build them in any configuration you need :)
Nice room 😁
I’m flabbergasted
So what do all these synths run thru? You have a console?
I used to use a huge 56 channel mixing desk, nowadays i use a 48 input rack mount mixer, 2 when needed. They are both Roland M480 line mixers.
Back in the Days they had million Dollar SSL Studios….these days they have million Dollar Synth Studios 😅 Anyway…amazing Collection 👍✨
You’re so underrated

The Korg Moss board, Is this the Z1 engine, which moved over into the Karma and Oasys.😙
I don’t know it’s full history but I do believe your right.
it’s 13 oscillator / 6 voice if I remember right.

Look like a rock, heavy metal type person fella, don’t see the fit with synths myself, like at all ha.. just an opinion is all.. 😉
how do you find those lazers relaxing!!! so annoying
