    ruclips.net/user/liveQA_7qRk1...
Bad Gear is taking a week off, instead I have teamed up with the one and only Gaz Williams and we will be taking a look at the mind blowing EBOARDMUSEUM in the beautiful city of Klagenfurt, Austria located in the Alps right next to the Wörthersee.
The EBOARDMUSEUM is probably the biggest synth museum in the world and contains rare exhibits ranging from the very first Minimoog (Serial 1001) to all kinds of synthesizer classics like the Yamaha CS-80, Roland Jupiter-8, instruments used by famous artists like Mike Oldfield, Tangerine Dream and The Grateful Dead, various string machines, vintage modular synthesizers and an absolutely incredible collection of organs including the very first Hammond organ from 1935.

Awesome to see Florian team up with Gaz, certainly the "top Gear" duo of the synth world, from watching AudioPilz channel for years now I get Florian's sense of humour and I bet he is buzzing at the snippets of footage he gets from Gaz with his bizarre spontaneous outbursts pure gold. The museum look awesome, pure synth heaven, You need to take this duo act further, go camping with a DAWless setup whatever, brilliant.

The strange Hammond organ with accordion buttons is a Hammond Chord Organ S6. It's literally a synthesizer (with lamps) it contains the same technology as the Hammond Novacord inside plus the chord buttons and two pedal for playing the root and the fifth with a level barre bellow the thumb to accentuate the volume of the chord. It was before the auto accompaniment section was invented. My grand-father had one, it was old and he got rid of it. But I was fortunated enough to play with it.

    What an amazing museum!
As a string synth obsessive, it's interesting that the curator rates the String Melody so highly. I've owned a Mk II that was Logan branded and a Mk I that was rebadged as the Vox String Thing. Confusingly, there was an earlier Vox String Thing which was a completely different and much more primitive machine.
My own string synth favourite has to be the Solina String Ensemble, as the chorus effect that turns what is essentially a cheap organ into a stringer is so perfect.

regarding Поливокс (Polivoks): it is indeed closely related to military, because all electronic equipment factories in USSR were actually dual purpose.
military and civil prodacts were made of the same parts, but the better ones of course were used for military, and the leftovers for civil.
this explains why the build quality of civil products was often horrible.

@@artisans8521 When is the Synthorama remark ? I watched the whole video again and did not see it. I just thought about the visit of "Look Mum's..." to Synthorama, which frightened me a lot (for the synth's health), but I had forgotten the name of the museum and had to search for it.

@@AudioPilz A small Idea for a project - maybe in summer ? : You spend a weekend in Klagenfurt (maybe again together with Gaz) and make a bad Gear episode for the "CS-corner", with the usual jams, like for the other gear you do, but this time for the top-of-everything legend (and give it a bad verdict please 😀). That could be the beginning of a miniseries "Top (Bad) Gear" with CS-80, Jup-8, Synthex, PS3200... So that we know what we can expect for the price of a kidney (or two 😉).

I didn't think it could get any better than Florian talking sh*t with Nick Batt. Then this happens!
Literally my two favourite Pootube synth people. Together and fully on form making a really fun video.
Your enthusiasm and love of music / gear is evident for all to see and is so infectious. Watching you giggle like school kids and be so enormously happy was truly a joy to behold. I was buzzing watching this video.
Also, next holiday Austria (I'll probably just skip the synth museum and just spend a week staring at Arnold's bronzed crotch!).
    Thanks guys.
