- MrBeast is the king of RUclips, where many have reported he is now worth over a billion dollars. The question however is, is he paying taxes? Today, our channel's creator Charles Peralo looks at US tax law and examines deductions as well as shields in the tax system to see what MrBeast is paying and if it’s enough?
We go over the following:
- The rise of Mr Beast and exactly why he’s popular
- How US taxes work
- How tax deductions work
- The flat tax proposal
- Is this a good or bad thing?
Seems poll boy has two entirely different audiences, this the first time I ever heard his voice.
Most do hus polls and correct him in the comments. He makes a lot of mistakes.
This video is boring. He jas a good voice for true crime perhaps but too monotonous here. It's vaguely accurate, lots of bragging but some helpful information as well I am sure. Nothing at all to do with Mr BEAST except as an example to show his point. That he pays some taxes.

Hey Charles, just wanted to provide feedback.
The content of this episode is excellent. I actually prefer simplistic editing like you did, and I like that you immediately went into the topic after explaining your own situation with dealing with your own taxes as a RUclipsr.
I will say though, I feel like I enjoyed this video because I know you as "the guy that does polls". To me, you're already somebody whose posts and opinions I tend to read and be interested in. I feel like the editing style isn't "crazy/tiktoky" enough to hit a wider audience. There could be more graphics to explain the different deductions you and other RUclipsrs qualify for because a lot of people are visual learners and it grabs their attention better. It also felt like the conclusion of the video was lacking.
All this to say, I still enjoyed the video. I just thought to give some feedback cuz I wanna see you be encouraged to make more long form videos. 🙏

The craziest tax loop is the loans.
Say my company made a million dollars profit and I want all of it. But if I declare it as income. I lose a huge chunk. I keep it in my business account. Instead I take out a million dollar loan. Do whatever I want with it and use the left over money to pay off the loan over the term of the loan. Even if the interest rate is 10 percent. It’s less than the tax bill and it’s also a deductible expense.
It’s how Billionaires get their liquid capital without selling stocks or assets. They take a loan on the assets.
That’s not actually how you pay the loan back though. Even if your only drawing $1,000 from your business your taxed in it. Maybe not at the full 34%, but still a decent %.

The video was very informatice and I appreciate how you made a video on what pollers wanted.
However, things you said in the video made you seem like an unlikable, arrogant person. The random part about you flexing that you jumped into a pool with a girl you didn't know, or talking about some of your write-offs that it sounds like even YOU think you didn't deserve hurt my view of you.
Anyways, I can't judge you as a person off one video, but if many of your videos have this kind of attitude, you could see some of your poll #'s slumping in the future. I hope you read this because I would watch more informative videos like this.
BTW I am not a chronically online individual and this is my first "essay" comment, I dont have time to be yapping like that.

Just to put this in perspective and im absolutely not saying this as an insult to you. This video dropped 4 hours ago and you have 1.7k views. Mr Beast just dropped a video 2 hours ago and it’s almost at 19 million.
Not using that as a diss to you just to show how friggin popular Mr beast is.
Not taking that as an offense, but shows how he’s a power.
One thing I’ll mention though is I started as a shorts creator and got big on the community page. So I do reach millions daily in those, I’ve just not really done many videos yet.

This is so interesting because I thought all sole proprietors were around the 15% take bracket and now I'm thinking I need to save even more although I typically only pay 10% tax on profit because of all the write-offs I get as a lifestyle creator

From an audio perspective, much improved over the last couple of videos 👍 it's clear you've worked on your diction and pacing, and it sounds like you've up'd the equipment too, nice. You still slipped back to "shorts voice" a couple of times, but much, much better.
I'm glad this is the topic you chose to do, I think it was the best fit for your channel specifically.
Also, I like the new set, very pleasing to look at and very professional but not too stiff, fits much better and the slouching doesn't stand out as much.
From an Accountant, while I don't personally agree with your personal views of government spending, the current tax system, etc, I still felt you covered the last section in a fairly nuanced and balanced way. And, very, VERY good job on describing the basics of tax deductions, expenses, brackets, etc, very good job.
Tiny nitpick, having the video title "How much Mr. Beast pays in taxes" and the chapter title "The rise of Mr. Beast" be right after each other and have the same font, background, music, etc, is a bit clunky. Split them up with a small talking segment between them, or use different font, music, background, etc, or put "chapter one: the rise...". But seriously, this is just a nitpick.

When you reinvest, you provide something either a good or a service at your own risk. That’s also not taking into account the jobs he is creating or companies he is helping when he makes purchases. Also on a side note he is a philanthropist and has done more than most governments have.

I don't want to discourage you, but I think the thumbnail could be more attention-grabbing. The background is too much of a mess -using a plane or light background or something similar could be more engaging. A picture with his face, like in his other thumbnails, might be more impactful. Instead of the jar, perhaps including something that creates a sense of shock, such as a large sum of money, would be more effective. I hope you've studied color theory, as many successful RUclipsrs do. I'm not trying to criticize, just offering some constructive feedback. I hope you reply.

@@Charlesperaloit's too busy. The stars and stripes pinwheel background with a crying Mr. Beast in a loud Uncle Sam Suit and a hand holding a jar of coins is too much to look at.
Keep a prominent subject (in this case, Mr. Beast), over a plain background or soft scene (think light watercolor paintings) but also hint at a story. (Either the jar of coins is "hidden" at the bottom of the screen, or an IRS agent holding a form with "OWE $___" with your choice of a huge or small amount in large red ink stamped "Hiding" in the top corner)
Definitely should be legal and more people should post content so they can right off things like groceries. Or start a small business. I wouldn't mind a flat tax if it was a solid 10%

Charles, I remember when you used to do tiktoks. (I don’t know if you still do, I haven’t seen them in forever.) Regardless, ignore all the rude comments and keep grinding.
I disagree with the other two. Prize winnings from a business are taxable income. Mr. Beast can't just give away money, as a gift, since it's the course of a trade or business. The recipients of at least some of his winnings do get 1099 forms for what they win. He's talked about awarding cash along with the house or car, to cover the taxes. In the video where someone has to send a million dollars, the first thing they addressed was setting aside some for taxes.

Should this be legal? Yes. The rules apply equally to the small business as to the big business. The effect is more pronounced in the big business but as long as the expenses are legitimate and appropriate they’re good.

So when you go out to eat, you are not reviewing the food since you don't have the page, that's someone else's. This would be like a manager claiming gas mileage as an itemized deduction when it's their employee who is the one using their gas to drive to jobs they're doing.
And as for business dinners, as noted, doesn't seem like you have them often or you would be having more guests. Let me guess, you take out friends and pay for their check too and make a fleeting claim saying you talked about your channel?

this very much puts me in the supporter of %15 no matter wat i think the crux of the problem started in reganomics trickle down policy, when u would have a CEO making roughly 3x their highest paid employee which is more than enough for a life of luxury and adequate compensation for the financial risk, it’s ballooned up to CEOs making on average 300x which leads them to live lives of utter excess it puts ancient kings to shame w a few exceptions. thats my layman’s opinion but the current tax code way too much incentivizes scummy practices such as layoffs and shorting hours and staff shortages, to claim a loss and avoid all taxes all together all whilst the ceos and upper management get absurd bonuses and just accrue more money than they could ever consider spending, not to build a modern carnegie hall or rockefeller institute…but to own a private island or have nigh priceless collectibles for no other reason than to have them

Not a bad video but I can't support flat tax, it is regressive any way you look at it as lower income people have to spend a larger percentage of theor income to live. I do support a minimum tax on upper income earners and I'm kinda split on using taxes to incentivize certain behavior. Also I hate when people say govt can't spend taxes when the reality is Americans can't vote. It's popular these days and will get a ton of clicks but the fact is Americans don't take responsibility for their govt and since we live in echo chambers most Americans don't know anything about who is wasting taxpayers money and who is trying to push more taxpayer money to their rich buddies. I mean the GOP has been trying to take Medicare and SS away or privatize it for years and folks that rely on those programs or will one day regularly vote for them. All this anti govt beliefs mean we vote for anti govt politicians who have incentive to prove themselves right so they sabotage the function of govt for political gain, and it works. So as a citizen it's a self fullfilling prophecy when we say govt can't do anything as the citizens vote for the govt.
So I’ll make a quick case on why the flat tax isn’t anti poor.
In the plan I mentioned by Rand, it was 15% on all income after $50,000, so the first $50,000 is TAX FREE. Also, we get rid of payroll taxes, so it balances out heavily.
That seems pretty fair.
@Charlesperalo most people making under 50k don't pay much in taxes already and probably get more taxes back with kids. Also I doubt with this tax plan anything changes with business taxes. My ex and I had an affective tax rate of about 10% with 2 kids and combined income around 90k. So if the first 50k is free and we paid 15% on the remaining 40k it would save us maybe 3% or so. 2 kids in daycare was more than 3% of our income so expanding child tax write offs would have saved us more money. Which brings up child tax credits which if I remember would be eliminated in Rand's tax plan along with food stamps and other support. Taxing the wealthiest at 15% will basically create families that have enough money to buy govts for generations. Im all for working hard for kids but I xespise the idea of a permamnent aristocratic class based solely on wealth gained at birth. So imo it's the typical example of sounds good on paper but I do not trust Rand or any libertarian to not botch the details as the ideology makes sense only under specific parameters that rarely track with reality.
Imo if we want to do a flat tax it needs to start much closer to 250k annual income and dor businesses based on profit or revenue. Last point, companies don't invest or expand based on taxes nor will less taxes equate to less replacement of jobs by technology.

I feel like taxes are important in a society but people should have more control over what it goes to. For instance, here in the uk some of the tax money goes to the royal family. For what? Lining their pockets even more? And some of the other money goes to funding a genocide. I dont want to feel like im contributing to that. People of a country should have more power in deciding where the tax money is going, but a society without taxes i feel wouldn't work as while funding for fixing things in a town is slow, with out the taxes it wouldn't happen at all.
I believe everyone should just an equal amount in taxes. Anything else is simply unfair. Everyone wants big businesses to be gutted, but for what exactly? There'd be no point in trying to sore to the top. There'd be no big business left to employ people. If the government can't make money without using legal EXTORTION then it really means stop spending money on other countries that have zero to do with us, or anything not to do with us. Defense is fine though. I don't argue with spending on weapons, and well built walls for example. (Works for China.) That makes sense. If anything up that. As well as figuring out our own backyard problems. I don't disagree with anything you said here.
