Sumeru is the best for me simply because of the feeling that we're finally moving as a team just to save the Dendro Archon.
I like that feeling where Dehya, Cyno, and Alhaitham are more or less enemies or opposing sides because of their affiliations and personalities... then by the end of Act IV, we are now united as a team for the sole purpose of saving the Dendro Archon. The slow buildup of relationship from enemies to friends, from mistrusts to trust, was probably the best part for me.

I loved Sumeru. Mainly because I liked Nahida as a character, and Dendro element was a great addition. Collei, Cyno, Nari, Dehya, Al. All great characters in their own right, and finally being able to shut up Scaramouche was a blast. Though I will admit, looking back on it, some bits....Yeah. But overall, did enjoy the experience. What more likely hurts Sumeru, is the afters. Like while Nahida's story quests were great. and a few tad bits here or there. But like most patches, afterwards is just dead patch, after dead patch. Like hell, I don't mind the concept of TCG, but when the TCG event, basically has HARDLY ANY TCG battles in it, you know it's barely worth anything and forgetful. Only good that came out of that event was the cute cat girl.

i agree. for starters, i loved the dendro archon quest. i personally enjoyed the time loop idea and it was really fun. The dendro element addition was insane too, and i didnt expect there to be so many reactions to it (probably why it took a long time to get into the game) and it is definitely viable all around. yeah there were some iffy parts here and there which made me spam click to skip parts in the story, but it was great. your point about TCG is exactly what i think, too. the card game is well made and all, i just only played it for a day or two then stopped because it got boring

The amount of misinformation in the chat lol. The sibling is a descender. The Fatui simply didn’t record him as such for some unknown reason because, as said in the video, it doesn’t make any sense that he’s from Teyvat.
Something happened to him along the way and that’s what we have to find out now.
    -
Also, the video also made a Mistake. Nahida is not a reincarnation of Rukkadevata. The wording of the dialogue is weird, but it simply wanted to say that Nahida is the new Avatar of Irminsul just like Rukkadevata was ( thus the whole “you are me and I am you” thing, as they come from the same root ). But they are different entities.
The mere fact that she created her proves that she’s not her reincarnation. It was just a weird analogy based on the fact that they both come from Irminsul.

1:50 I skim the story and even I caught on these parts of the lore from the dialogue.
7:05 But you have hindsight to this, so that take is kinda bad. Like if you were the character this was happening to, the 2nd time would be passed off as Dejavu. The 3rd is when you wise up.
13:10 bruh did narrator skip the part where there was a big fight that caused the the collapse? Made it sound like the sinking sand just came out of nowhere.
    46:05 no. Kill them all
46:35 Technically, yes there was. But they were in the 3.7 and 3.8 event quests. You meet Charlotte in 3.7 in that TGC event and in 3.8 the Verulyan Mirage is full of Hydro Eidolon and also an Oceanid named Idya who gave you bits of info about Fontaine.

I think from a gamer pov who just wants to get things done etc, sumeru quests can be extremely long and boring and full of unneeded details, but the details are there to essentially world build and make the story a little more human than just "Traveler comes and saves yet another nation!" The isek to me was more so a way to make the player more connected and understanding how important the keepers were cause otherwise they're just crazy old people. There definitely are better ways to tell this type of story, I think genshin does a wonderful job of worldbuilding. Looking into the lore of genshin from small to large, you can see a giant interconnecting web. Like sure, the inazuma bladsmith and other npcs may not seem the most important, they all play a significant role in connecting the whole story together. The story telling of genshin may not be the best all the time, but their world building and lore (beyond just the archon quests) is amazing imo.

my biggest complaint with sumeru was the desert exploration and subsequent storyline that you were forced to play through to explore the desert
the storyline itself was pretty good, but the fact it was a silent world quest killed all immersion for it, and the fact that it prevented me from just openly exploring the pyramids and other ruins, was a big stick in the mud for my enjoyment; but also it was really annoying how much it walked you through the exploration step by step through the quest instead of letting you explore and puzzle solve on your own, I don't recall another quest that was this integral to world exploration

I honestly thought the pacing of the Samsara Festival quest was done quite well for the first half. Cause it's not like we had to do the exact same thing each day, they did start to condense is down more and more as you went, and it didn't take long until we started doing something different. I do think they could of condensed the part with us figuring out the real answer to what was happening. Like, I never really understood why Nahida couldn't tell us. She said it would blow our minds, but...I don't know how figuring out on our own would make that any different. So that part could of definitely been done better. I get wanting to make the final reveal a mystery, but they definitely didn't do it the best way.

Before Fontaine, most popular Genshin streamers and casual players (including myself) loved the Sumeru Archon Quests a lot because of its content and lore. The pacing is debatable because not all liked the pacing of the story (for me it's all fine and I like slow-paced storytelling nonetheless).
Guess Teccy wants the approach of the following:
      • Fast-Pacing Storytelling
      • Playable Character-Focused Only majorly (he hates, or at most, ignore NPCs in this game, which is just dumb since NPCs in every game are the foundation and the bloodline of the game's story)

I see Genshin as a long book that people nowadays with very short attention spans will not necessarily enjoy due to the slow burn and walls of text you have to get through (like reading a novel or long book). To some, the slowness of it is what makes the small great moments all the better. While something like Star Rail is made for people that like to get their dopamine fix frequently but there is nowhere near as much substance... as far as quest designs go. Emphasis on that last part because Star Rail does have walls of texts to sit through if you want to dig deep into the lore and read all the books you pick up. For a modern audience, Star Rail is the "better designed" game no doubt, but it is all subjective.

Scaramouche story conceptually is one of the dumbest, but the lore drop is insane so I don't hate it as much. Nilou's story quest has a small debate section, which could be the basis of Fontaine's trial sections, but overall pretty basic, not too impactful. I've not yet played alhaitham's, Cyno's and Nahida's story quests yet, but I heard that nahida's story has quite a lot of important lore. There's also the Aranara quest, which is way too lengthy, 2 jeht quests and apep quest too. There's quite a lot of important lore and story in sumeru, but it's not really spread out very proportionately. The good ones are mainly at the first half of version 3.X while the back half just got boring, but that's as per usual tbh

I've had some thoughts about Sumeru for a long time (no hate). So, this might be a long comment. Also, I’m not a native English speaker, so I apologize for any misspelled words and incorrectly written sentences.
I’m not a big fan of Sumeru personally. Of course, I don't hate it, but I think miHoYo took too big of a step when they worked on this region. The Archon Quest is great, and we can see that Genshin is consistently giving us good Archon quests. The map also looks very pretty, but the exploration part is quite annoying.
Going under the mountains into those caves before they release the underground map system is just torture. I always joke with people, saying there is not a single mountain in Sumeru that is solid. All of them are hollow. The desert part was very interesting when they first released it because we had never had a desert map before. But I just think the desert map is way too big. With a lot of underground buildings, I just dislike hanging around there. I like Inazuma and Liyue, but I think Liyue had the disadvantage of being an earlier map.
Also, I have this feeling not just for Sumeru but for the direction of the storyline and Archon quests (some legendary quest) in general. I think we are already in the fifth country. miHoYo needs to start revealing more answers to those big questions like the Abyss, Fatui, etc.
They keep throwing new quests at us with new characters but not providing enough explanation or information. Like the Dendro dragon that is being introduced, who seems extremely strong, maybe even stronger than all the Archons? Also, the Caribert quest. But there’s not enough information given for me to care about these new characters. I usually don't argue with someone about who is the strongest or care that much, but I really want to see characters that I'm familiar with not getting powercrept in lore. (I don’t know if I explained my thoughts correctly, but we can discuss.)
Furthermore, I think being a 12+ game has really restricted Genshin. For example, the desert world quest (the one with no voiceover and is long AF, yeah, that one) is actually quite scary. If it were voiced, it would probably be 18+. To fully grasp the story, you need to carefully read those lines without any voiceover. For me, I have to find a video that explains the story, and I believe that if a player needs to search on RUclips or just on the Internet in general, you have failed at storytelling.

As an artists, i had high hopes on how it may look like, but idk i guess, i don't really like the designs of the characters/buildings?
I mean, for example if i were to design the characters of dessert:
    1. I would've make their futures more connected to one another, so if i would go etc. theme of "Egyptians" i would make far more characters stand out with it so it doesn't feel messy, like yes u can argue that Cynos design is unique, but like i like it more when the region has connecting/matching outfits, so u can easily say yep thats from that region! But when u look at etc. Nahida, Nilou and Dori to me each one of them just look like from entire different region 😅
    2. More skin colours in the dessert, like bro we have only 3 characters that are tinned from Sumeru, Cyno, Candace and Dehya, which is just depressing, i thought there gonna be more characters with some other skin colour type, but well...
    3. Since Sumeru was supposed to be a rainforest and all, i thought the stractures even in cities will feel more natural/ nature like? Ik they wanted to make the stractures Middle-East designed which is cool, but idk just kinda weird to see those in middle of forest u know what im sayin😅

@@akuwiz8102Isn't the pari area for the hydro archon? Eternal oasis only focused on the three gods of sumeru and Jeht.

@@Sawyer_Lotusthe Previous Hydro Archon actually and it's very crucial lore. Some players probably just ignore dialogue knowing that quest mentions a lot about both the Prev. Hydro Archon and Khaenri'ah.

i like how you reacted "wait that's it!? that's so short" for the Caribert part, it only seems that way cause you're literally watching a 3 minutes summary of said quest, try playing it by yourself and immerse yourself in it then you'll understand. you even totally missed the big twist reveal at the end about the MC being in the sibling's memory.

Sumeru had the best quests by far. But it's not for everyone esp for those who only care about combat not any lore.

I understand simping for HSR but comparing 3.2 quest to Cocolia quest is just hilarious. Outside of the cool Cocolia fight the quest was just plain and frankly boring.
