The only thing missing was the Grapes between the bottom of your shoes & the Tuxmats. 😀 Love this video, thank you Rick for joining me with coffee on Sunday morning! 👍🏼👍🏼
You are the only one I know that can turn a car mat cleaning into a block buster movie. We have had Tuxmat mats in our RAV4 Hybrid for two years and I think they are the best. 🇨🇦👍👍
They are far superior to any other liner I have used. They seem to be “off branding” to reach the masses, but there have been some comments from people who have vehicles they haven’t sized up. I hope they can fix that because they really are awesome.
For a long time, I was resistant to these after market liners that covered so much area, but now I love them. I use the factory carpet mats in the summer, but these are in my Audi 8-9 months of the year.
I love watching interior details, to me, it is so satisfying to see a car's dirty interior go from dirty to clean! Very important to sit in a clean car!
Rick I like your new intro for Rad. The mats look like a high end luxury product and I have no words for why they sent you the mats and never followed up. Canadian winters are harsh and the mats still look brand new. Hopefully spring will be here soon!
The liners definitely lend a high class touch to the interior. I was reluctant to add a full coverage liner but I have been impressed. I never liked the look of the other ones that sported the diamond stitched leather pattern, but these have a sophisticated look and feel to them.
Great job Rick. You have inspired me to clean my interior. We have a beautiful day here in Southern Ontario. Plus 11 today! Need to get it done. Stay Rad.
I love the end results of these videos. I have a set of OEM rubber mats in my Honda. Same problem exists here in Newfoundland, the amount of salt and the bleeding residue. I have been using 2 products and it seems to be the only way to do a reset if the “new” appearance. I use Salt Eraser and MeKees’s floor mat & cargo liner Rejuvenator. Your mats look new. I love these videos Rick. Till the next one. 👍🏻
Hi mate ! Well I have to admit I also spent 2 x 13 min watching you revive your Tuxmat floor mats. Definitely top quality to be able to survive to Canadian winter harshness. Pretty unbelievable quantity of salt and whatnot oozing out of these 😱! You must be so pi**ed of after a few minutes driving here and there... Let's wait for spring to come Take care Rick Stay RAD 🤘 Gregg

Waw. I was looking for this video. I have Tuxmats in my Highlander and X5 and love them. I was checking everywhere on guidance to keep them clean. This video is IT. Have to get mat and liner cleaner and get started. I already have Gummifix (GUF), but was hesitant to use it after Mat from Obsessed Garage trash the product. BTW. I love the Swisstrax video that you did with Jamie the Cleaner and provided you honest opinion. Love sense of humor and candor.
@@catwill2022 Matt trashed Gummifix? I love it. I’m glad to hear this video offered you some ideas. I don’t use this approach as my normal routine, but sometimes I can tell they need to be “flushed out”. I can’t recall my conversation with JTC regarding Swisstrax but I have spoken at great length about how the Swisstrax have served me well. Take care.
Awesome videos as always. I just visited The Bays in Wheeling, IL and detail washed the Jeep. Funny I was debating whether to clean my floor matts and decided to tackle them. I just sprayed Griots Garage interior cleaner, brushed and wiped with a microfiber. I should have rinsed with rinseless wash. They were a salty, nasty mess, but turned out great for a winter clean. Your videos are amazing and love to see your detailing techniques and products. I am a Griots Garage fan and rarely try anything different other than Adams.
That’s the process I use for “in-between” cleans. Just spray a little cleaner, agitate with a brush, vacuum out the gross mixture, then buff dry with a MF. This process is what I follow when the mood strikes. I have been to the Wheeling Bays location. Such a cool concept!
Love using the curveball on my Weathertech mats for dressing them too !I just got done a winter wash outside here it Ottawa, its 8C today. Cant wait for spring to start my weekly maintenance again.
Great video Rick !!! I absolutely LOVE those mats, they look high end. I just looked for a set for my car but they are out of stock but once available I will be getting them. Thanks again and you did an amazing job !!!
Thanks. I think they lead the industry but they need better distribution. Too many people complain about not finding a set. I think they “off brand” now. I’ve seen them at Costco and Canadian Tire under different names.
The tux mats look more high end than Weathertech for sure. Might have to keep that in mind for the next car I clean my Weathertechs with the McKees 37 Mat cleaner and a pump sprayer bottle to rinse, but we don’t get snow like you do on the west coast
The Tuxmat material does have a nice appearance compared to other brands. I have really enjoyed them this year and the amount of space they cover ensures no salt finds its way into my carpets unlike the competitors.
I am very impressed with how well they have aged considering how much abuse they take. Every other liner I have used in the past would be trashed by now.
Great video Rick. The mats turned out fantastic. Almost makes me want to get a set. The first time I used GUF with the sprayer in a closed garage I gassed myself out! Amazing product though.
Not really. You will see it featured in my various "tour" videos. What is it specifically you would like to know. I have two sheets fastened to the wall. I had the edges rounded so no chance of cutting a finger and I had the sheets bent to accommodate the awkward couple of inches caused by the stemwall footing. I found the clamps on eBay back in the day. It's a very functional feature for me. I have to thank my HVAC guy for sourcing the stainless steel.
Hi Rick, never heard of Tuxmat until I watched your video. Previously, I’ve owned Weathertech mats for my ‘07 & ‘17 Tundra’s, they were decent enough. I wanted to get some Husky liners for my 2022 Corolla SE as they have pins for the passenger side to help prevent the mats from slip sliding away. They are a rubber type material and would probably stay in place better than the Weathertech ones, which, by their design, are pinless on the passenger side and a slippery plastic construction. Not to mention, they scuffed up easily and didn’t clean up the best. Geeze, I’m using a lot of words today and not saying much! I’m NOT a politician! I digress, I have a set of Tuxmat liners on their way to winter St. John’s as you are reading my verbal diarrhea. The fact they are Canadian, check all the boxes for me and I can get them in a couple weeks compared to ‘out of stock, unknown availability’ for the others previously mentioned, sealed the deal for me. I hope they reach out to you so you can give them some feedback on their product. Great video on a product I’m sure will be enjoyed for many years to come. Don’t vote for me, I’ll only be fiscally responsible, be accessible, be honest and trustworthy and do what I say I will do. All very bad traits for someone in public office.
Haha! I'm glad you took the plunge on the Tuxmat liners. I have a good feeling they will surpass the performance and look of both the WT's and the Huskies. I have had them all in the past. I also had 3D Maxspiders. None of them even compare to the Tuxmats. I'm also relieved to hear they carried the ones to fit your car. Some have complained they don't have them for their particular cars. I think that is why WeatherTech dominates the market - they have fitment for every car. Let me know how you like them once you've received them and had a chance to see them perform. Take care!
It looks like they are going to arrive by the 23rd of the month, they are in Moncton NB as of today! With the amount of snow we received in the last few days, they will definitely be getting their trial by fire! So to speak! I’ll keep you in the loop!
Hi Rick, they’ve been in the car now for about 2 weeks. Fair amount of salt, slush, muddy boots and other debris. So far, they are doing great, I’ll give them a wash at work one day this week and see how well they clean up. Update to follow !
Glad to hear you are enjoying them so far. I really feel like they enhance the look of the interior in addition to providing that extra bit of protection.
When you're spraying these down with water what if the back of them gets wet..... Do they Stay wet long? I would think this can cause mildew in the carpet
Ensuring these mats are 100% dry is super important, like you mentioned. I have a mat drying wall that I clamp them to and then I set a little fan on them which dries them out quite quickly. They don't tend to hold on to moisture nearly as stubbornly as carpet does. I have been very happy with them and their performance in some pretty extreme winter conditions. But, there is some maintenance required.
Koch Chemie GUF can be used on anything rubber or plastic. Here is what it says on the website: "Non-greasy, silicone-oil-free rubber and plastic care for rubber foot mats, plastic floor surfaces and other interior areas in cars and commercial vehicles for which slip resistance is necessary. Rick? What are your Tuxmats made from? Kevlar? Rubber? they are pretty cool. I have a set of mats i bought last year for my car that areOmac USA, they look like weathertechs but cost much less than weathertechs and preform the same, i love them.
You’re not the first person I know to run into that issue. I would be curious to know if they are aiming to have universal fitment options. This is why WeatherTech dominates the market.
@RADGarage more resistant to rocks/pebbles and cover better for keeping water in them than the weather mats. They don't get stains easily like the patches on the weather mats

I agree. I have been too neglectful lately. I need to perform a thorough interior detail soon.
I will say the coverage on these mats is top notch. A must have for any Canadians attempting to keep their carpets free of salt stains.
I’m not sure how I lived so long without them.

It’s a losing battle in the winter, but I fear the long term damage letting that salt longer would cause. Plus, I love using my mat wall!
