So I took me some time and did it yesterday. Replaced both heating pads and foam cushions. Your instructions were thereby very helpful. I had only two different things: on my manual seats, there are two more levers coming through the side- cladding, which have to be disassembled. One of them is very easy, the other a little bit tricky. Then I found a second electric pad underneath the heating pad. This one comes with a separate cable and connector. I suppose, it's the weight sensor, which leads to the "fasten seatbelt- signal". You're absolutely right, opening all the rings is quite time- consuming. All in all, it took me around 3 hours per seat. Regards!
I replaced my driver's seat heating pad this weekend with the help of your video. Your video was incredibly well-done and helpful and made this very manageable. I replaced the pad with a similar pad for a 2012 Buick Regal, which required swapping the electrical connector. Everything went well and I have a working seat heater again! Only additional thing I would add is to be careful with the main electrical connector when moving the seat around outside of the vehicle. It's pretty brittle and I once set the seat rails onto the connector and part of the plastic frame broke. It still fit successfully and locked in place but I would have been happier if I had been more careful and not damaged it in the first place. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video that has helped many of us!
This helped but my 2004 9-5 is different, took about an hour with that car, it had only 4 "hoops" in the seat I reused. the seat bolts were Torx T40 and easy to get off and the side plastic is attached differently, the seat belt only needs a push from a screwdriver
Thank you for share, our 9-5 no longer heat at passenger side but we have Aero seats with ventilation. I really hope swapping of the heating pads will be almost same.
Excellent video TroyandEddie. I have exactly the same issue with mine and was planning on having a go. I knew the hog rings would be the issue and have already bought the hog ring pliers. Now that you have used zip ties, I might re-think this.Just wondered how the ties will respond to the heat though. I'll make the decision which way to go once I see how easy (or hard) it is to install new hog rings. Thanks again !!
Just bought one! I like your Matts. I bought mine from carvana. It’s is really beautiful shape but has typical 9-5 woes. Heated seats only work for about 1 minute before they cut off. Got rear lamps not working as well. Is it normal for the heated seat to only work a minute at a time?
Great vid. Mine went out years ago but didn’t have the money to have it repair but this looks easy for me to do. FYI, you can use an iron and use steam to have the pad lift/come off from the foam
Sorry to be off topic but does someone know a way to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Tanner Finley Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Awesome video, i have a 9-3 with drivers seat having ho heat. Being a aircraft tech i think i will do it in place in the car i think with a mirror to get to the underside. I see no need to remove the seat to do the job so far...
Thanks for the video. I replaced both driver and passenger seats. Passenger is working great but driver is not. Does the driver seat have a heating pad on the back too? Wondering if I need to replace that too. I checked the fuse and that’s fine. It’s on for about 1 minute then turns of. Any suggestions would be appreciated
Dear TroyAndEddie, Great video. Just yesterday I faced the same problem. It started last year, shutting down after 30 minutes. Since yesterday off every minute. I did not know how to get there. Thanks to your film it will be easier for me now. How did you know what part number to buy before remove it? I have a seat with thigh support and part number could be different, I'm worried. Thanks a lot and greetings from Poland. Radek
Hi, I have the same issue like everyone else here but I was thinking, when I'm at it anyway and since many kits(not just the original) come with a back section as well, how do you see the possiblity of putting a heating pad into the back as well and connect them to the same wiring?
Definitely possible, but I'm unfamiliar with accessing it. The common failure is the lower heater and the work involved to replace both didn't justify doing it.

broomad I've had no issues with the zips and heat. It turned out to be a great move.

@Tanner Finley it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my ass :D
@Abraham Rhys You are welcome xD
Thanks for the instruction video! Do you recommend to also replace the foam cushion in one go?

Removing the car seat is 15 minutes of labor, tops. Well worth it to avoid contorting your body to work under it.

I found my part numbers on esaabparts. They also had the seat heater for the Sports seats (with thigh support.)
My mat stopped heating, I need the same as in the movie, with two holes No. 12777551/003. Where can I get it?

Both my seats failed at same time could that mean it isn't the heat pads but something else as its rare to have both failing at the same time
