- Both @GamerAlexVideos and I were interested in why EA would cancel Project CARS, DiRT and possibly GRID, so we decided to discuss it... and how it could end up being one of EA's best choices in years.

Just by the fact EA terminated Project CARS, Dirt and Grid in one shot makes me passionately hate them so much more. I don't see much hope for the new IP they are planning to make. it's EA we're talking about.
DiRT was more of a slow death than what they did with pCARS though.
@@TheJakeMG I mean I can see why and that was coming from them for the surprise of zero people. part of me still refuses to accept it but at the end of the day it thats what it is.

At the end of the day the company has to make money to be able to sustain over time (This is common knowledge). So, if they team didn't make a great job promoting the game and improving the gaming experience it's their fault. Forza Horizon have been doing and amazing job in that aspect, and other games have created niche comunities that sustain the games.(E.J Assetto Corsa it's maintened by the community now). This is from my perspective, i could have lost other important aspects.

Project CARS I could kinda see the reason of cancellation. It was no longer true to its name "Community Assisted Racing Simulator". The reason why DiRT would get canceled is simple. The devs that were given the main DiRT games got merged into Criterion, so they are busy making Need for Speed, and the devs behind the DiRT Rally series are working on the future WRC games, so developing two different named games that are basically the same(just one having the license and one not having it) would be meaningless. I could see GRID being kept alive though, just the release date of GRID Legends could've been better. It was a week before Gran Turismo 7 came out, plus most people jumped on Elden Ring instead.
No joke, I would love to see another discussion video where you and other people like Alex talk about things.
It’s not that 3 was a bad game as such, it’s more that it wasn’t what sim racers wanted or expected. PC1&2 set a sim expectation for the franchise. It wasn’t perfect, but it tried. PC3 is an arcade game. I’m glad you liked it though. Also, EA killed the Shift franchise. That was pretty good back in the day. EA are now trying to work out how to get us to buy bumper stickers and pay out the arse like iRacing.
EA said that codemasters was going to be independent and not going to he an EA studio. But after seeing this... then for me it's just EA doing what they do best, doing THE SAME FUCKING MISTAKE EVER AGAIN CALLED PERSISTING. I really hope that the DiRT arcade side of the franchise will still live after the rebrand, becouse if not then codemasters will have to share the grave whit balckbox

@@adlibbed2138 when u think its cant get any worse for racing games, if the next nfs turns out to be dogsh** the only thing that we would have afterwards is the 3 re release of horizon 3, and by god am I done with gt and forza motorsport.
seems to me the only good part left of the racing game genre that is actually still alive and well is the sim racing subgenre and its modding scene.
Alongside Mirror's Edge, you can add DiRT to the long, long list of franchises EA doesn't deserve
From an overall package, PC2 was better than AC, although PC2 was definitely far from perfect but it was a masterpiece at the same time.
For a lot of people, project cars has always been a messy series with unfulfilled potential, broken promises and misled developers.
Although a great game to finally get the concept right would be great, I don't trust Slightly mad or codemasters to fulfill that.

EA buys studios to kill them and reduce competition. They are only interested it turning out ip riddled with microtransactions. In order for their games as a service plan to work, they must slow down innovation to keep the development at a steady pace they can control. They want to force players to their product by being the only game in town. But ip is only ip. It is the creative developers that make great games. They will continue to go out on their own and make great games outside of EA's framework. That is where the next great simracing game will come from.
Is it worth getting PC3 now when i already have PC2 and GT7 ?

I would love that but I'm afraid they are gonna mess it up(FROSTBITE) and also the nfs fan base will turn into crybabies and absolutely hate it.

EA Games Ruin Everything
Why is it called Project Cars when we can't even upgrade/tune cars like Forza Motorsport 7 or Horizon? Most people out there don't want premade cars. People want customizations.
Project Cars 3 didn't kill Project Cars, EA did. They maid it pretty clear, they are only interested in sports titles and open world games, plus games with high social integration. Project Cars, Dirt and Grid don't fall into those categories. F1 and WRC are sports titles so they get to stay, Need for Speed is open world (guess that's why the haven't given up on it despite its rocky path).
I hope EA loses the WRC licence quickly, and that the FIA won't be stupid enough to give it to them again (yes I know, they technically gave it to Codemasters).

I played pc1 and pc2 had so much to do in the game lots of cars and tracks day and night cycle was excellent but too many car physics issues inconsistent handling even on a wheel alot of cars was a struggle to drive shame so much potential let down by inconsistent handling oh also AI rarely made mistakes and was rarely aware where i was on track and just push me of the track , I do not believe sim racing is on a decline its getting better project cars put me off sim racing for awhile because of poor handling and terrible AI but thanks to RUclips videos I got back into sim racing shame about pc1 and 2 I had high hopes for both games such a shame
Legends sucks. The handling is just way to simple. There's no risk of spinning out or losing traction. PC3 was exceptional. Every car felt distinct and it was exciting driving on the edge. It was easily as good as F7 and GT7 handling wise. Really underrated game. People need to drive in 3 then 2 to see how improved it is in all aspects except sim elements. Sim fans killed the series imo.
I can’t believe they delisted PC2. It’s good, so much effort went into it. I know it has problems but it’s a right laugh in single player. I can’t speak for the MP.

A new IP to compete with forza and gran turismo? Wouldn't be surprised if EA used the 'SHIFT' brand to get people's attention
I think they would have to use something new, but if they did use the SHIFT name they would have to get rid of "Need for Speed" in the name

@@TheJakeMG I mean when Shift 2 was announced, they wanted to clarify that it was a spinoff. It had the logo, but not the name.

Well Bandai Namco is the company worked for Project CARS. Now they are already arguing to EA have terminate their franchise. But EA fights back saying that B.N stole their franchise and planning to buy Bandai Namco US Branch for a redemption.

Yeah, there is single player in PC1, 2 and 3. But one day multiplayer will vanish too but probably not anytime soon
If something really good comes out of it i'm not sad they're dropping the Grid franchise. We desperately need a competitor to GT and Forza since both franchises are going down the lazy route in my opinion, excited for sure
my theory is that EA plans to buy big racing dev team and shutting them down to only leave nfs for the market.
edit : I know what I said is kind of not truth, but that how it feels to me.
