With that one, you HAVE to strategize. You can't just go in guns blazing because only Vi can hit it normally, Lief can only hit it by spending TP, and Kabbu can't hit it at all until it's on the ground.
@@awsumsas Use pEbblE ToSs
Idk damage vi tends to just work and then just add more damage boost to vi and maybe more tanking for Kabbu so he can taunt to give vi charge with the favorite one with life primarily serving as buffing. Apparently throwing a boomerang at a giant robot 3 times is enough to destroy it and it only gets stronger later
this boss' freezing mechanic is so unforgiving in hard mode. status moves are guaranteed to inflict the status if you don't block, so miss the timing once on icefall, get frozen, be unable to block the next attack with increased damage, get longer frozen duration and lose over half the team's health.
not based on personal experience or anything like that of course.
I have 20 hp dropped to 6 since I play on hard that much damage for a mis time
Best song in the game
so wait, is it a roach? or a robot? maybe a bit of both?
i think The Watcher is made by the Roaches, so... both maybe..?
At first I thought that he was a resurrected Roach mage but then the Spy text metiones that he was “never alive” So my best guess is that he’s some kind of roach magic golem?
@@ieatsand9259
Explains the gem it drops, as all of the constructs are powered by gems
@@ieatsand9259 huh. i never really thought of it that way. that actually makes a ton of sense
I despise what they make you go through to get that Frostbite Medal but it was worth it just for this fight
Everyone talkin bout the watcher, but noone be talkin bout tangybug. Who is he? Is there an in game fight of him that noone has actually discovered yet? Is he tanjerin or is he someone else? Is he just a glitch? How is he so powerful? So many unanswerable questions
I associate this song more with T̷̨̪̬͕͙̮̜͓͙͕͓̍̅̅́̑́̊͝͝Ȃ̵̲̻͍̱̲̠́̃̆̅̔̃Ṋ̸̡̧̗̺̲̱͖͇̒͑͐͝Ģ̵͍͔̤̥̦̰͖̤͉̼͙͒̌ͅY̶̧̞̤̪͙̣͍̯̐͛̊ͅB̸̡̡͕̗̤̲̜̠͉̝͔͍̦͈̎̃̓͗̀͛ͅƯ̴̢̛̛̙͎̝͚̺̰̼̪̬̒͑̈͐̒̒̈́̿̚͠͝Ǵ̸̢̛̼̝͈̳̹͙̞͉̩̦̇̊̇͒͗̑͜͜͠ than I do with The Watcher. The Watcher's a good fight, as all the bosses are, but that thing is something extra special.
Ehh, ᎿαηᏀεγβᏌᏀ is no match for my omni boosted hurricane toss
This boss is all fun and games till it freezes your whole team.
catch in a Frozen status and it's GAME OVER for hard mode.
Fun fact: If you don't block the icefall, you're probably going to die before you get a chance to do anything.
i taunted him & was planning to tank everything, but he did the icefall move which i failed to block, freezing kabbu and killing leif & vi instantly
This felt so shovel Knight like. Boss, music, atmosphere, everything
Uh.........
No...?
Let me try to freeze him so I can start sett-
*Oh no*
This is the first time in my entire life that I felt salty. And I still did not beat him in hard mode. If I mess up one block of his ice attacks it's game over. My best is when he was a 2 damage but I failed a block...
I
HATE
HIM
Edit: poison needles, best way to kill his second phase.
at least I get to listen to this banger while having to deal with the constant sand and ice walls while this idiot gets to go twice per turn

It feels wierd that all the other boss themes have catchy titles while this one is simply "the watcher"...any thoughts on why?
And this is the chapter I learned how to abuse empower and turn kabbu completely busted lol
Who knew that one dead archivist from tma made an appearance in bug fables.
So, the fight against The Watcher. Tuffbugs enabled. I didn't realize until after the fight, but he only uses ice attacks while on the ground, and you can use hurricane toss to get him off of it. Since I didn't know this, I had to get lucky and hope he used frigid coffin instead of icefall. Even super blocked, icefall still 1-shot Vi from full health. Eventually though, I beat him. Eventually.
This is a great spiritual successor to "Freeze!"
Wow, this boss has a cool design, looks tuff, I wonder what his health is...
*69 HP*
ok...
Nice
This boss gets a special ost name and this boss gets a special ost name.
But this track is just the wachter
Honestly, never relied on Lief too much, he's a nice damage dealer and is great at freezing some problematic enemies but Kabbu... I always relied on Kabbu the most, absorbs most of the damage, packs a punch and also has awesome skills, so the boss fight wasn't sucu a problem for me.
Speak not the Watchers,
Draw not the Watchers,
Write not the Watchers,
Sculpt not the Watchers,
Sing not the Watchers,
Call not the Watchers' name.
La la la la la.
I have PTSD of this song from hard mode.
It strange, the thief boss killed me but this boss was easy. I also thought it was way easier than the mechanic bee too. I’m playing on normal mode. Is it difficult on hard mode?
and is from this moment I imagined the relic to be the Roach dancing Scatman.
The watcher in my first run: *spawns a wall every other turn* *uses icefall and freezes my whole team* *heals for 13 hp*
The watcher on my second run: uwu,,, p-pwease don’t hurt me 🥺🥺🥺🥺 i am just a littl creachure,,,,,,,
I love the inclusion of bits from Frenzied Sunflower Dance, I loved FSD but this track did it better
I though this was a miniboss until i found the actual artifact
Still stuck on this guy for my HARDEST save file
This guy's appearance, and song really intimidated me at first. Then after the fight I was like: .....Wut
Aaaaaaaah! I am stuck on this fight!
try stocking up on items
And don’t use all your TP in the beginning
The only boss I've 1-shotted so far
you
*what*
Wut
*W H A T*
behold, the wizard roach!
i kept calling this boss "bad touch man" for the life steal attack. easiest boss so far though [hard mode; just started chapter 5] and i swept in like 5 turns with vi by freezing n then hurricane tosses
Huh this was the only boss in the game I had trouble with. Not even really the final boss.
@@brandonochs1902 the wasp king has been decimating me lol, usually all my items go kerplut while im going through the entire giants lair
@@missingwlws1400 that makes sense. I think I died to him twice so I guess I struggled a bit but most bosses I didn't die to at all. I died like 5 times to the watcher.
@@brandonochs1902 the watcher was only easy for me because i, for some unknown reason, never experienced its ice attacks. it never did any. on later playthroughs of chapters 1-5 i did have a bit of trouble with it but usually by then i had vi built up so it didnt take more than 2 tries
Please tell me in not the only one that had thought of the Techno season of Ninjago when listening to this song
Lurien?
He watches at the top of his sand castle
tangybug
tangybug
TANGY BUG
I thought this boss was pretty easy. Turns out I got lucky with frigid coffin, I froze him about 3 times
Me: Let’s spam Icefall
The Watcher: Icefall on leif
Me: *…oh*
why are all the comments talking about ice magic
tangybug doesn't have ice magic
oh wait
I dont know why but this reminds me of gravity falls for some reason even though I never really watched that series or liked it (I dont hate it either)
Sounds like Super Meat Boy
this is the part of the game when i thought frozen drill was the best skill in the game.
Finally someone gets it.
Okay, the first bit just _has_ to be inspired by Mario World’s castle music
If I can't use Leif to freeze, then I will use berserker Vi
