As I’m on the other side of the pond I catch GOTD early morning before work. Apart from the sensational playing (again!) I find the genuine warmth and positiveness between Michael and Jen very uplifting and a great start to the day.
Yes it looks like an awesome place to work,I bet they work their arses off but have a ball,a special place is Normans Rare Guitars and great place to learn some of Michaels mastery, what and unbelievable player
@@dcarts5616 I just listened to it again and it is so goood!! Those two loops he solos over lay down such an awesome groove. And his playing over them is so SWEET and tasteful! What a fantastic player!
As an owner of this model and color from 1973, it's great to see the characteristics of this slightly older specimen. I bit the bullet and recently refretted it with medium jumbo stainless steel and have been playing it non stop. The tuners on that axe look original because mine got new vintage klusons put on in 95 and they aren't as yellowed. This is an excellent choice for a player grade 335! Don't need a hardtail to bend!
Awesome my buddy had one of these in the 80s we were teen agers back then I played his many times unplugged setting around learning songs and licks we were both gonna be rock stars I had an iria Les Paul copy it was sweet axe too but I always loved his 335 we used take his dad's homemade wine on Friday nights from a shelf in the garage in gallon jugs get wasted and play guitar those were the days learned Van Halen and stones Skynyrd on that guitar watched star licks videos in the vhs player ! Takes me back
These GOTD are such a highlight of my day, not only because Mike kills the guitar, but also the dynamic between him and Jen. They are definitely having a good time and it shows. Love Jen's reactions! Hahaha, this one has the best ending.
Michael and Jen are such sillyheads, I love it. I really have a blast watching guitar of the day, everyday! Much appreciation from Austria to you guys!
Great playing and nice guitar, as usual, but also some interesting background material in this video. Frankie had his shirt halfway off trying to get to an itch, Norm on the phone, the clueless guy talking so loud as Lemmo was about to start...gives the show a real "organic" feel.
Gorgeous guitar , that's like 5 days in a row without a red guitar , unbelievable. I luv this color , natural is my fav after black , and this is natural walnut , sort of , anyway it sounds great , always wanted a 335 , it's got that british invasion feel , 60's rock but it can open up and crunch with the best of them. Some very creative and outstanding playing Lemmo , especially liked that first song. Thanks guys.
SO AWESOME! Love that guitar and the playing! I had a VH2 cassette that I wore out in a rude old 70s van. It had plush vinyl, mirrored ceiling, brown shag carpet, and the front seats swivelled so they faced backwards. It was so unreal. This guitar and that song bring vivid memories of that van and that time. BTW, the other main tape in that van was Jimmy Bryant and Speedy west. The dude looking at guitars in the back is lucky. You know he's been told to not turn around and pretend like everything's normal :)
J G we're being spoiled by his playing that's for sure. I want to save all of his episodes so that when he leaves NRGs in the hopefully distant future I can replay them.
So i’ve been listening to these videos for a while now, but since Michael has been the host i’ve been looking forward to hear what he comes up with everyday! Very inspiring playing and also the two song ep he released recently are spinning almost everyday in my ears, good f*cking job! Much love from Montreal, Canada! 🤘
I was really bummed when Mark left... but Lemmo has turned out to be a great replacement. Michael, that demo was perfect - showcased so much of what a good 335 can do, and did it in unexpected ways. Great work, man.
back in the day, about '74, there was this "natural" style that came along - everything was butcher block tables, terra cotta lamps, bamboo king chairs, avocado-colored refrigerators -- I even stripped the clownburst finish off my Jazz Bass, just to make it natural and woody. Of course, the style quickly vanished (like the single year of port-wine and jade-colored outerwear, I still have a parka in those colors) -- but hey, for those who think walnut looks like poop, I dare you to eat a chocolate bar :)
Jen and Mark's guitar of the day had a certain vibe that worked great! Jen and Michael Lemmo's kinda Top the old guitar of the day.??? I'd Love Jen to host one guitar of the day show. (Talk about a Viral Video).
I have an ES 345 of same vintage, same walnut finish, same orange sticker inside. Really a fine guitar. I hate the volute, though I know it's there for a reason. This is a great demo except for ...... the Tube Screamer when you use the bridge pickup. It squashes the tone right out of the guitar compared to how open and full the neck and neck/middle combos are. The first two pickup demos are terrific. Nice, Michael, very nice.
They made the Walnut through till at least mine which I was was told was made January 1978. Mine has the Coil Tap switch as well.Ive put in on Marketplace in Jersey as I am thinking to get a Byrdland
Michael, greetings from 46755. You're doing a fantastic job! Love what you do with the DITTO, very inspiring. How 'bout a guest host for guitar rundown? Jen? hahhahaha! One last thought. Remote episodes on June 21-22 from Ft. Wayne, Indiana? Everybody loves Gearfest!
Yo Michael when are you and Nick gonna do another freaking awesome jam! Still can't get enough of that Van Halen cover man y'all ROCK! Our Lady Peace. Clumsy
Never been much of a Gibson fan aside from my early 70s SG,also in walnut but the finish has aged and worn thru a lot but I love it,but I’m digging the ES335. Very versatile guitar to have In ones music room. I bought most of my vintage guitars before prices got crazy stupid expensive so I doubt I’ll be buying a vintage 335 but that’s definitely going on my to-build list. I’ve always wanted to try my hand at carving a solid top and back or laminating and molding a lam top, back and side set. Great playing as always lemmo.
Dang Lemmo - you make me cry with your unbelievably tasteful playing...Every episode is a master class!!
Amazing isn’t he - he’s already become a RUclips Treasure !!
Ditto.
As I’m on the other side of the pond I catch GOTD early morning before work. Apart from the sensational playing (again!) I find the genuine warmth and positiveness between Michael and Jen very uplifting and a great start to the day.
Same here David... Wakeup instantly hunt for GOTD before getting up...
Lemmo has made me a guitar nut. He's incredible
Yes it looks like an awesome place to work,I bet they work their arses off but have a ball,a special place is Normans Rare Guitars and great place to learn some of Michaels mastery, what and unbelievable player
i realize I am kind of randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to watch new series online ?
@Cesar Sincere flixportal =)
@Kolton Turner Thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service =) Appreciate it!!
Good God, I wish the first song had gone on forever!
Zelomeister me too!! Lemmo should do a music only no singing album. I'd buy it.
@@dcarts5616 I just listened to it again and it is so goood!! Those two loops he solos over lay down such an awesome groove. And his playing over them is so SWEET and tasteful! What a fantastic player!
that thing with the volume knob was perfection
do an occasional Whammy Bar Wednesday
Hank Marvin?
wonder if Norm has a Burns in storage.
@@tdtom1376 There was a Baldwin 12 string in store sometime ago.
Fantastic!! That 335 kills!!
Jen’s response “shit!” was funny!
Lemmo's vibrato is superb.
Only watch these for the playing 🤩🤩
And to steal some riffs and licks too
I want a series of jen learning to play...

Between the great playing and the fun Jen and Michael have, GOTD never fails to make me smile! 335 is my favorite guitar by far--I have two!
Man - that 335 is just light enough in brown that it is absolutely beautiful.
Really enjoying these guitar of the day vids now. Most of the time I didn't watch them now I always watch. Lemmo for president I say.
Started playing when I was 12 I’m 64 years old now and Cannot play anything like you amaze me Michael good job buddy
Michael needs an Academy award. 👍🎸✌️😎
Lemmo makes a looper look so I easy it makes me think I can do it. Until I try and fall flat on my face.
Great episode as usual.
Anthony Nonya He sure has the touch with them... perfect levels, perfect timing...
One of my favourite sublime songs played right after a Lemmo Original, definitely made my day better
Leerseele do you know what the first song was really would love to learn it
@@michaelruiz2573 No clue, it's an original most likely
Jen was thinking of the lovely color with her surprise exclamation!✌💛🤘

Awesome guitar and brilliant playing. You never cease to amaze. Keep it up.
That finish always makes me think of an old coffee table. (This is NOT a bad thing, either.)
Makes you want to reach for the Pledge.
Wow, that guitar sounds fantastic.
These videos have become pure fun!
I enjoyed this, had a hard day, so really needed some fun good entertainment........thank you!
Excellent playing as usual. The volume swells in the last tune were really awesome!
Awesome ! So much feel and steadiness in your playing and you present these demos with a lot of fun and humour. Keep up the good work, buddy👍😁
Loving the classic Sublime
Lemmo sure brings out Jen’s personality! I love it! Awesome as usual Michael Lemmo, you rock!
Fab sound and great playing Thanks !
Beautiful guitar and beautiful playing Lemmo ! Thanks Jen ! :-)
It's amazing to see Lemmo and Jen having so much fun... Lemmo truly belongs here
"That's it? I thought there was more!" Lemmo, don't leave 'em hanging like that. Also, I have not missed the "poopy brown" remarks since Agnesi left.
what is this poopy..? sounds like baby talk (".)
Yeah that got predictable.
I wish I had half the talent this guy has
I'd be okay with 12,5%.
Jen said "volute" AWESOMENESS!!!!
She had a good teacher.😉
One of my best friends has a 1972 ES335 TD in Walnut. Bought it in the late 70s and he still has it, sounds amazing through his Mesa Boogie amps.
Where are his songs? Every time, he brings something super cool to the demo.
Michael and Jen are such sillyheads, I love it. I really have a blast watching guitar of the day, everyday!
Much appreciation from Austria to you guys!
I've said since the first time I saw this kid play. He is a superstar.
Very nice. You folks are having fun.
Great playing love the finish on this 335

Coach DEWalls I like this aspect too. A guitar shop should have lots of noise and things going on!
jen knows some stuff--love it had a walnut 335,i miss it.

This first track is absolutely great

Lemmo. You are appreciated. 🙏

Very pleasantly surprised to hear a Sublime song. Sounded awesome!

Great playing ML! Nice sounding ES.
Dude....that was THE best Normans demo yet. Good to see you comfortable in the new seat. Cheers
Yay, Thank you Michael and Jen. Reverb! Great video
Thank you for dropping some Sublime! 🤘 on Lemmon 🎸
Nice one man! Incredible playing! What a great bunch of people you work with Lemmo ;)
I was really bummed when Mark left... but Lemmo has turned out to be a great replacement. Michael, that demo was perfect - showcased so much of what a good 335 can do, and did it in unexpected ways. Great work, man.
@artschull I think it was sometime in March. He has a pretty big job at Gibson now.
Amazing family of people ya got there Norman. Beautiful chemistry, music and guitars.
Great playing!
I just dig the variety of musical genres you play..Excellente!
That was simply AMAZING. Best GOTD this year! Lemme is the real deal.
Enjoyed the sublime 🌞
Awesome vibe!
It sound great..because of you..thanks
Amazing control...whatta player
Lemmo given a smooth groove demo ES pecially
suited for the NORM'S !!
That's a beautiful ES. Unique
Absolutely smashed it 🤟

Lemmo killed it. I wanna buy that thing. Nice Sublime
Jen, you need to be a guest host. We all want you to.
Very radioheadish. Love it! the first song that is.
Ahh, shit it's Hump day - love that guitar🤗
Jen and Mark's guitar of the day had a certain vibe that worked great!
Jen and Michael Lemmo's kinda Top the old guitar of the day.???
I'd Love Jen to host one guitar of the day show.

Refugeefromcalif that needs to absolutely happen.
Once again, bringing Frankie in creates that family vibe! Great job making this store feels like a family.
The best part was when he played with the bridge pickup only! Keep up that playing style!

Great play Mr. Lemmo. I think we need more Jen on camera.
I love that 335!
I vote for a "Jen" GOTD episode!
PEACE 🎶🎵🎸💀👽
"Oh Shit!"
That’s a beautiful guitar
I do have to say though, that is a gorgeous hollow body Gibson. Great tone too!
Great playing! I’m a bit debated between getting a 335 with a stopbar vs tailpiece. Currently using a Casino (which is equipped with the tailpiece)
Ahhh love me some 335...nice one!
Lemmo is Sooooo good. Love his playing and style
Liked Marks covers but love Mikes originality.
👏
“That’s it!” Drops guitar on floor walks off... Cuz he killed it!
335: my “I want to pretend I’m playing backup for Elvis” guitar
Scotty Moore played an es 175 but still pretty funny😂
I also can’t play guitar, but I don’t ever let little things like that stop me from pretending.
Though he is famous for strays, Eric Johnson used a 335 when he recorded Cliffs of Dover. Definitely a rocker when you want it to be.
Awesome Guitar!!
Perfect timing, Jen! You should really do stand-up. No shortage of comedic material around Norm's, am I right?!!
Damm you and your skills Lemmo. Thats an amazing ES
I like the Gibson electric Spanish guitars a lot. My favorite es model is the Gibson es 300 from the 1940s with the strange pickup.
EpicWooferTester Channel I’m intrigued. Oh google....
That's some Sean Angus Watson stuff right here, really nice tunes!
They made the Walnut through till at least mine which I was was told was made January 1978.
