Fun fact: our fear of the dark stems from the early ages when we had no technology and had to operate in the dark watching out for predators we couldn't see. That's why we're always scared of "something appearing in the dark" even though there's nothing there.
I have about three fears; spiders, “Mo#2” and the dark. But I also have a lingering fear of being watched at night. Sometimes, when I can’t sleep, I start to sense a presence behind me, and it keeps me awake most of the night. If I was REALLY scared, I’d cover myself in my own blanket, sticking my face out to breathe while still covering my eyes. I feared that if I moved, or looked outside my blanket, something would happen to me. I still have this fear, but it’s not as bad as it used to be.
I was scared of sleep paralysis, not even the creatures, but the paralysis itself, so I went asleep facing the wall to if I did have paralysis, I wouldn’t see them demons or whatever.
My early childhood fear was "Floor Piano's"... Ive never even seen one in person nor do I remember seeing one on TV... All I remember is that it looks weird and if you step on it... a loud horrifying noise comes out... and that was anxiety
I remember having a fear of the zombies from plants vs zombies, and id always cover my face at night with a thick blanket, so one day i decided to make a Peeshoter out of Plasticine and then i lost that fear
When I was younger, I watched this show/news that warned about bugs crawling in your ears. They would eat your brain and kill you. They said that the most common bugs to get stuck in your ears were moths and cock roaches, both of those were in my house. I slept with both my ears covered for at least the next 6 or 7 years.
I used to be scared of pictures, I thought the person in the picture was watching me & that they'll know what I done... I guess I thought picture had like hidden cameras set by the person in the picture XD
When I was about 7-8, i saw that one clip in "Mr. Mom" where "Jaws" the vacuum cleaner came alive and started chasing a kid. There wasnt anyone around me except my sleeping 2yr old bro. I was genuinely shaking.4-5 years later, i am the complete opposite. I'm not terrified by Jaws anymore
I remember I had a fear of snails for some reason and I’d get freaked when I saw one. I did get over it though I still get a little freaked when I see one of those Gastropods. I also have a fear of something watching me
I just woke up in a cold sweat from a dream that gave me existential dread (but also would make a good psychological horror story) so this video is perfect!
I remember in 7th grade i waned to ask the class baddie out and I fumbled and asked the most outa pocket thing without knowing i asked "whats ur body count?"
I had awful night terrors as a toddler/preschooler. Supposedly you don't remember night terrors, but for some reason I remember mine. These are worse than nightmares. What would happen is I'd dream about something like that I just realized that nothing in the universe exists except me and I'm just a one-dimensional line that extends in both directions infinitely (the dream only lasted a few seconds) then I'd go into night terror mode, not really awake but eyes open. I'd see all sorts of scary things on the ceiling and everywhere, my mind would be telling me everything I see is real and my parents would come in, my mind told me that my parents weren't real that they were just bad things pretending to be my parents, I'd see the walls grow infinitely high and fall and crash on top of me, the ceiling melt and come down to smash me flat. Eventually I'd pass out then wake up the next morning. My parents were always baffled because I'd remember them and supposedly kids don't remember them. I'm really scared right now typing this. I'm going to stop. It's something, I'm 23 years old but recalling this turns me into a vulnerable, frightened child.
I was scared not of not the creatures inside nightmares, but nightmares itself. I was scared if i thought about nightmares when i was awake i would have nightmares in my sleep… 💀
Out fear the fear with reality. One way to deal with fear is to think of something more terrifying or something your fear would be diminished by, for example, reality.
One time i had a dream that i was in my room laying on my bed and a bunch of hogs break into my room and suffocated me. Thinking back to it i think its pretty funny. The dream was very short.
Right now, I have a fear of stalkers and butterflies. Stalkers because they could be anywhere. Butterflies because when I was 7, a giant butterfly chased me. And because how they look when you look upclose.
Because of some really traumatic nightmares I had when I was really little, I still sleep with a night light. I tell people it's so I don't trip in the dark because I'm clumsy. Real reason is that I'm afraid of the dark. Whenever I have a nightmare, a truly terrifying nightmare, I don't go back to sleep. Sometimes I get my mom up and we talk it over until I feel safe. Even if I don't go back to sleep, I'm at least not terrified anymore. I had some nightmares so bad when I was really little that thinking about them even in broad daylight still makes me so scared that I don't feel safe.
bro i was scared but not that much when i grew up because there's not that much to be afraid about but ever since the mandela catalogue existed i am so scared.
I was scared of the Blair witch and Samara Morgan (aka The Ring) coming into my room and killing me like wtf bruh Edit: One time my alarm went off with weird music but it was my mom who accidentally set it bcuz I didn’t set my own alarm. IT WAS 5AM my heart started racing AND I FUCKING FREAKED OUT AND I ALMOST FAINTED
I used to scared of the dark. I also had sleeping issues. I get over my fear and find out the reason I couldn't sleep is because I need complete darkness to sleep.

I remember the huge fear of the world ending but I all that wasn't scared because I vaguely remember people in 1999 saying the world was going to end on January 1, 2000 (Y2K), so in 2012 I was like "okay, the world didn't end in 2000, why is 2012 any different?".
